《Fateful Encounter (Fumikage Tokoyami x Reader)》First Date

"So," you begin as you and Fumikage walk back to your home, "What should we do now? We've got the whole weekend to ourselves."
"That is true," he responds, tenderly holding your hand. "But I'm uncertain of what to do next, as well."
The two of you are contemplating your options when you get a text from your BFF.
(f/n): Hiya (y/n)
(You): Good morning (f/n), what's up?
(f/n): The sky :)
(You): Lol okay, but really what's up?
(f/n): Me and (friend's crush: f/c) are going on a date, to that café that just opened!!
(You): Cool (smiley face w/ sunglasses)
(f/n): Ikr?! I can't wait, it's gonna be awesome!!!!!
Suddenly, an idea pops into your head. Thanks to your friend's texts, you know exactly what you and Fumikage should do today. You quickly wrap up your conversation with (f/n):
(You): Gtg, ttyl
(f/n): K byeeee
"Hey, Fumikage?" you say eagerly. He turns to face you as you continue, "Do you think that maybe you'd like to... Go out with me? Like, on a date?"
His eyes sparkle with joy as he remarks, "With great pleasure, (y/n)! I was beginning to ponder if you'd ever ask."
"So, what should we do? Maybe go to an arcade, or the beach, or a restaurant?"
He thinks for a moment before replying, "I've heard that there is a sequel of that movie you were rather fond of. Shall we view it in a theater, perhaps?"
"Ooh, that sounds great," you beam. Fumikage blushes upon seeing your rapturous smile.
A few minutes later, you arrive at your house. Your parents haven't woken up yet, so you and Fumikage try to be quiet and let them sleep. You look at your phone and see that it's 8:47 a.m. You then search online for movie tickets to see the sequel of your favorite film.
"If we go here," you inform Fumikage, "Then it's only $18 for both of us. The movie starts playing at 10, so we've got about an hour until then. And it'll take roughly 15 minutes to walk there from my place."
"Then I shall return to my home and prepare for our date. I'll come back to accompany you to the movie at 9:30. How does that sound?"
"Perfect. Well, I'll see you then. Good-bye, Fumi." You give him a kiss on the cheek before he leaves.
Enthusiastically, you start to get ready for your very first date with Fumikage. You put together a cute and casual outfit, do your hair, eat some breakfast, brush your teeth, and so forth. Time flies, and before you know it, you hear a knock at the door.

"Hello Fu-" You begin to greet Fumikage when you realize he's not there. Someone else had arrived at your home: your half-brother. "What are you doing here?!" you shriek.
"Oh, (y/n), you still know too much about me. But... Even if you want to turn me in, I just want to be your brother. That's all I want, (y/n). So listen closely, there's something you need to hear."
"Wh-what is it?" you stutter nervously, recalling how your meeting with him had ended.
"Some... people I know, they'll be watching the U.A. Sports Festival this year. If you don't wanna get wrapped up in what they're scheming, I'd suggest you don't participate."
"In the Sports Festival?" you ask, confused. "But it's-"
"-Trust me, you'd want to avoid it, just to be safe. And I'll come back to update you on anything else you should know about. Right now I can't tell you more than I already have, though. I'll see you around, (y/n)." And with that, your half-brother ran off, leaving you full of questions.
"I'll worry about that later," you mutter a few moments afterwards. "For now, I should just focus on how awesome today's going to be."
A little while later, Fumikage arrives at your house. He would usually wear a plain hoodie and sweatpants, but for your date, he's dressed in elegant attire: a jet black dress shirt, inky jeans, and dark brown loafers. He even wore a scarlet tie in place of the crimson scarf you'd always seen him in.
"Shall we depart?" he said, lifting your hand to his face and kissing it.
"Yes, we shall," you grin, copying your boyfriend's speech.
You and Fumikage are on your way to the movie theater, chatting merrily all the while. The two of you discuss school, the upcoming UA Sports Festival (you don't mention anything about your half-brother, though), video games, etc. You also exchange warm praise with one another; Fumikage complimented you on your ravishing beauty, and you complimented him on his.
As you approach the theater, you pull out your phone and check the time. "It looks like we're right on time. It's 10 minutes till the movie starts. I'll buy the tickets real quick-" you utter, turning to face Fumikage. However, he's already purchased the tickets by the time you've turned around. "Oh, Fumi, you didn't have to do that."
He chuckles and replies, "But I desired to. After all, an individual as wondrous as you deserves everything I could possibly have to offer."
You feel yourself blush as you respond, "It's fine if you feel that way, but I don't need your money. I only want your love."

"M-my... Love?" he murmurs. You wonder for a second if you said something wrong, but Fumikage grips his chest and beams, "Your tremendous benevolence and endearment have caught me off guard yet again. How can a mortal heart like yours contain such heavenly kindness? I can't even begin to fathom that the vision you are can tolerate me, let alone desire my affection! (y/n), I adore you with every fiber of my being and will for as long as I shall live." He embraces you sweetly, and you gladly hug him back.
When the two of you part, you see that it's only a couple minutes before the movie starts. "Uh, Fumi?" you utter. "It's 9:57!"
"Ah! We mustn't be late, let's enter the theater now!" he exclaims.
You and Fumikage rush inside and sit down just as the movie begins. You let out a sigh of relief, taking a swift glance at your boyfriend. He was frantically searching for seats just a moment ago, but he seems to have relaxed now. As the movie starts, he grabs your hand gingerly. Your lips curl up in a gleeful grin all the while.
"My gosh, that was awesome," you squeal as the end credits roll. "I seriously didn't see that last twist coming, how'd you know?!"
"It was merely a lucky guess," Fumikage replies. "I simply assumed that the story would unfold like that. I could've easily been mistaken, though. And how could you tell that the ever so stoic main character would fall for him?"
"Now that, I could see clear as day. The actors were all so good, you could practically feel their love for each other burning in their eyes."
"Really? I couldn't tell. How intriguing. So, (y/n), the day is far from over. What shall we do next?"
"I heard that there's an arcade that just opened around here. Do you wanna check it out?"
"Sure, that sounds rather fun. Do you think there will be any dancing games?"
"Maybe. If there is, you'd probably cream the current highest score!"
"Oh, I don't know if I could do such a thing."
"Trust me, you're an amazing dancer. You could at least get a super awesome score, if not the best score!"
"You flatter me, (y/n). I do know that I could never possibly get a higher score than you."
"Is that a challenge, Fumi?"
You giggle as he grins, "Well, I suppose we'll have to see if there are any dancing games first."
"Hey, do you see that big building over there?"
"Yes. Is that the arcade?"
"Yep, race you to the entrance!"
"As long as you don't employ your quirk!"
You and Fumikage rush across the sidewalk, sprinting at full speed. He reaches out to touch the door right as you walk in.
"Ah, it seems that you've defeated me," he chuckles as he saunters into the arcade by your side.
"Yeah, just barely-" you begin, but you realize that Fumikage had spotted something and wasn't really listening to you anymore. "Fumi? Fumi, what is it?"
"It's glorious," he announced dramatically. He dashes over to the game he had hoped would be there. It was his favorite type of gameplay in an arcade, and he was eager to try it.
"(y/n)- (y/n)?" He's scanning the arcade for you when you arrive with a small bucket full of tokens.
"So, you ready to play?" you smirk, motioning to the dancing game Fumikage had found.
"Oh, yes!!" he squeals in delight.
A small crowd has formed around you and Fumikage, mesmerized by both of you. The score is currently tied, and you're starting to tire a bit. Fumikage is clearly sweating, but he seems to really be enjoying himself nonetheless. You nearly miss one of the dance moves, but you manage to do it before you miss out on scoring points. Everyone seems to be very impressed by that, and hollers of enthusiastic praise pierce the lively music that you and Fumikage are dancing to.
The music stops and the scores are revealed: you and Fumikage both nailed every. Single. Dance move. The crowd roars in elation, in total disbelief that you both got a perfect score.
"That was awesome!!" you cry, embracing Fumikage. "Great dancing, babe!"
"You were spectacular," he murmurs, too tired to speak loudly. "Can we go home now, please?"
"Don't you want to keep playing? We've only been here for..." You check the time and gasp. "Three hours?! We've been dancing for three hours!! Yeah, let's go home."
You and Fumikage decide to spend the rest of the day at his house. As the two of you leave the arcade, he holds his arms around you loosely. You're both exhausted from dancing for hours but had a great time. If this is only our first date, you think as you walk back home, Then I can't wait for the next ones!

Reborn Into My Novel
What if you lived in the world of your own creation? As fate would have it, our dear amateur novelist, Ellie, was reborn into the world of her fantasy novel after falling asleep at her computer. Bewildered as she was, the first person that she met was the protagonist of her novel. To add salt to the wound, it was right before the tragedy that decimated his village as per his backstory. Will Ellie save the village (and herself) to risk changing the fundamentals of her novel? Will she instead let the story run its course and leave everyone in the village to their deaths? Disclaimer: This novel is a work in progress and will be updated hopefully at least once a week. Expect minor mistakes (maybe some typos and punctuation errors) since this is the very first draft. The author suffers from perfectionism and impostor syndrome and therefore attempts to use this as sort of a therapy to break away from perfectionism and self doubt. Basically, the author employs a “I don’t care anymore and screw this trash work” mindset just to get stuff rolling and not set any expectations. Basically, basically, the author just wants to write something and not care about planning and quality and all those nice things about writing a GOOD novel since it’s counterproductive.
