《Fateful Encounter (Fumikage Tokoyami x Reader)》Eternal Enemy

An individual leaps in front of the bus, waving his arms around and telling the driver to stop. The bus stops dead in its tracks, leaving the students onboard puzzled. As they discover that they, as well as you, are stuck in the middle of nowhere until the person moves, a subtle panic rises among your classmates. You walk up to the front of the bus and peer out the window in horror - the guy who stopped Fumikage from using his quirk to defend himself was right there. He suddenly lit up with a near-blinding light, and the chaos began.
Students were terrified, yelling, cussing - well, mostly just Bakugou - and even screaming and crying. To be fair, that light shone so brilliantly that, even as you shut your eyes, your head began to throb with pain. You push the pain aside and attempt to absorb his energy, but his light still shines. Slowly, you continue and his light begins to dim at a decent pace. When you've absorbed enough of his light, you open your eyes and exit the bus. No one notices you leaving, since everyone else is still in great pain. You drain his energy until he can no longer give off any bright light. As he retreats, you chase after him, catching up to him swiftly with the energy you absorbed. Finally, you catch up to and tackle him, pinning his arms behind his back. Unable to escape or use his quirk, he sighs, defeated. You're about to interrogate him when a familiar voice cuts through the struggle.
"What the heck are you doing out here, (y/n)," your best friend exclaims. "This is insane! Let him go this instant!"
Something about her seemed off, so you reply, "And why would I do that? This creep hurt my boyfriend! You remember him, right? Fumi?"
Somewhat nervously, she retorts, "Does your boyfriend really matter right now? You shouldn't be hurting that guy, it's rude!"
"Uh, excuse me," you scoff. "He means the world to me in any situation, even this one! With those big, brown eyes, and his adorable, squeaky voice... You know, yesterday you said his hair was, like, spiky or something?"
"But of course! His eyes, voice - yes, of course, Fumi! You know, I do recall-"
"Hah!" You exclaim triumphantly. "His eyes aren't brown, and his voice is deep and sexy! You're not (f/n) at all, are you?" You sneer victoriously as the imposter groans and transforms into a tall, slim man who towers above you. Since you've used your quirk a lot already, you know you can't just push him over - you may have an actual fight on your hands. Mentally, you prepare for the worst and come up with a plan to shake this guy off.

"You want me to let this jerk go, right? What is he to you?"
"If you must know, he is my son. I wouldn't say 'cherished' or 'beloved', but he is all that I have."
"Hey," the boy shouts. "Not cool, old man! NOT cool!!"
Tightening your grip, you say, "Keep struggling and I swear, I will knock you out! Now, sir," you look at the man, "All I want is for you to get me my purse. It's on the bus still, and Brittany stole it from me again. Honestly, if you get it for me I will let go of your son in a heartbeat."
"What does said purse look like?" Upon hearing his response, you know you've got him beat.
"It's a little handbag. It's, like, neon pink and it's got these little charms on the handle. They're, like, soooo cute and it's soooo chic. You'll know it when you see it. Thanks!"
"I'll be back for the boy," he says as he hurries off. Knowing that Mr. Aizawa will take care of him, you bring your attention back to the @*#&!*% who aided that psycho who hurt Fumikage.
Taking in a deep breath and clearing your head, you begin to query the boy: "I saw you using your quirk to hurt a... certain individual I'm friends with. Now tell me this..." You twist his arm as you screech, "WHY would you DO such a thing?! Huh?? HUH?!"
"Owww!" he moans. "What's your deal, you nutty chick?! I-I was just-OW! J-just helping out my old man's friend! He- OWW! MY GOD! CAN YOU STOP RIPPING MY ARM OFF?!?! OOOOWWWWWW!!!" You loosen your grip just enough so he can continue, "P-pops told me to help-p him out, it wasn't my fault! Besides..." His face twists into a devious smirk. "I'd rather take Fumikage out myself- OOOOOWWWWWWW!!"
"What the #%*$*&@*! do you have against Fumikage?!?!! Tell me RIGHT NOW before I KILL YOU!!" You didn't actually plan on killing him, but you were definitely angry enough to say that you would. He swears that he'll never take that statement back through his tears, so you know that you can't change his mind. Regardless, you have more pressing questions to ask him. "Could you at LEAST tell me why you... feel this way towards Fumikage?"
"It's not that I just don't like him - although that's a big part of it- Ow! Can I get through one sentence without you breaking my freakin' bones?! Seriously!!" You nod reluctantly and he continues, "Anyway, he- (sigh) He had the girl of my dreams. And what did he do? He went and broke her heart, that's what! Hoshiko loved that jerk to pieces, and he didn't even care!! Not one freakin' bit!! He- He- " The boy falls to his knees, sobbing relentlessly. You're sure that there had to be some sort of misunderstanding between Hoshiko and Fumikage, or maybe this guy just misinterpreted something. You tell him to continue, and after a moment, he does.

"We all went to the same middle school, and shared the same foolish dream that one day, we could be heroes. Then a week or two before our first dance, Hoshiko told me she was gonna ask Fumikage if he'd go with her, as her date. It hurt to know that she loved him, but I told her the simple truth - she was waaaay outta his league. She asked him out anyway, of course, and he turned her down in front of all her friends! What kind of monster does that to a girl like Hoshiko?!"
"What," you query, "Did he say to her? When she asked him out?"
"That he refused to go with her, that's what!"
"Did you ever find out why he didn't go out with her?"
"N-no, but he totally humiliated Hoshiko! She was so torn up that she dropped outta school, and I haven't heard from her since!! That punk will die by my- ouch ouch ouch ouch OOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!"
"What's wrong with you?! It's obvious that he turned her down because he was too nervous! He'd never mean it like you thought he would, he just gets shy sometimes! If she had just patiently waited until he felt comfortable with being in a relationship with her, they would've definitely been a couple!! Tell me, was Hoshiko a patient person?"
"Heck, no! But she was a good, straight-A girl! She stayed in school for almost a whole month before she dropped out! And she was always nice, even around dirtbags like Fumik- OOOWW! CAN YOU STOP THAT ALREADY?!?!!"
"It sounds to me like she couldn't wait for him, but didn't realize that was the problem. So... She thought that he just didn't like her, and attended that school for as long as she could before she changed schools. I highly doubt that a girl fitting your description would ever drop out of school entirely, even if she wholeheartedly believed that Fumikage didn't like her. So it seems to me like Fumikage was innocent, and you shouldn't hate him at all!"
"And yet, I always will." He suddenly lets out a quick burst of light, temporarily blinding you. By the time your vision is restored, the boy has left without a trace. You hear familiar, faint voices in the distance, and you follow them to discover a group of your classmates who had been searching for you.
"(y/n), we've been looking all over for you," exclaims your friend.
"Yeah," Ochaco chimes in, "Why did you leave the bus? We were worried about you!"
Then an aggravated Bakugou remarks, "Maybe you losers were, but I was glad to get away from (y/n). Too bad we had to find her."
You quickly retort, "So that's why you came to look for me, so that you wouldn't find me? Is that seriously what you're trying to tell me?"
"I just wanted to ditch the bus full of losers, even if it meant joining your stupid friends."
"That's cold, man," your bestie says. "Real cold... for a guy who's like flaming cr*p mixed with garbage!" You and your friends can't help but laugh hysterically as Bakugou yells furiously.
As you and your friends prepare to head back, Fumikage runs up to you, embracing you and whispering into your ear, "Please... Don't part with me in such a manner ever again. I was petrified... I thought you might have sustained a serious injury, or worse..." Tears fill his eyes as he holds you closer.
"I won't do that ever again," you reply softly. "I promise."
"Aww," Mina cries out, "You're so in love!"
Everyone but you and Fumikage just stares at her, and you simply say, "Yes... Yes, we are. Now, let's head back to the bus!"

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.
