"𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐘, 𝐈𝐅 𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐑."The girl kindly apologized to Five who was in her room with her, getting the right medical supplies for her. "I don't know what came over me."

"It's fine." The boy heavily sighed, sitting down next to her on the edge of her bed, and taking her right hand to clean it. "I was probably acting like that too. We all were."

Five carefully patted the cloth on her bruise as if it was fragile, making Y/n keep her eyes on him. He was so gentle, he seemed like he would never even hurt a fly. He made sure to be delicate, not wanting Y/n to feel any pain, not knowing that it was already painful for her either way.

"So..." The girl cleared her throat to break the silence. "...what were those good news you wanted to tell me so bad? It almost seems too good to be true to be hearing that, to be honest with you."

The boy smiled at that, dipping the cloth inside a cup of peroxide, and came in closer, cleaning her wounds on her face, holding her face in one of his hands. The eye contact was strong, neither of them wanted to break it.

"The good news is..." Five pulled his hands away from her face after cleaning one of many bruises. "...we're done. We don't have to do anything no more."

Just as Klaus and Luther couldn't believe him before, Y/n had the same reaction. Her jaw hung loose and she let out a chuckle of disbelief. "What-what do you mean?"

"I mean that..." Five moved in closer, taking her cold hands in his, and looked deep into her eyes. "...we can do anything we want." His voice was almost a whisper - calming and quiet. "We're free."

Y/n softly laughed at that, making Five's smile go wider. "You serious?"

"Yes, and I want to..." The boy moved even closer, their legs touching each other with their knees and their faces being inches apart. He seemed serious and wanted to do this the right way. "...do anything with you."

The moment they had only talked about in the apocalypse, the moment they only dreamed of - they could officially spend the life together they deserved to. A lifetime full of nightmares, one trauma after another got them here and, even though they were exhausted, they were happy. Or at least Five was.

A voice in her head came back, the one that wasn't leaving her alone as Y/n tilted her head and brushed her thumb across Five's soft cheek which had already started healing from injuries. "Me too." Wanting to push that thought away. Five could not be more relieved to hear that as the two chuckled.

"Now how about that wine I promised you?" He smiled, turning around to take two wine glasses from the table next to him. He gave one to Y/n, but she just unsurely stared at it.

Usually, red wine was her drink and she would have definitely taken it. But knowing that she should avoid it and shouldn't take any risks, for now, attempted to decline it in a nice and unsuspicious way.

"Uh, you know what?" The girl nervously chuckled and put her glass away on the nightstand. "I don't think drinking alcohol is very good for me. You know, 'cause of the most likely brain concussion?"

Five looked down after hearing that. "Oh." A romantic moment was what he wanted, now he didn't get one and, needless to say, was a bit sad. "No worries. It's nice to see you're back to your normal state anyways."

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐅𝐓 𝐒𝐔𝐍 𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐒 shining through the window made their way up to Y/n's face, shaking her out of her slumber. Despite the longest and best sleep she had in the past twenty days, she wanted to sleep more, turning over to her side and attempting to fall back asleep. But something wasn't letting her and she ended up giving up on it.

Sitting up in her bed, she expected to see Vanya and Allison on her sides in their beds, but they were nowhere to be found. In fact, Allison's bed seemed like it wasn't even touched, making Y/n believe she hadn't come back yet, and Vanya's was already messed up, which gave the suspicion that she had already woken up and left.

But to have the entire room to herself - that was nice, even if it was just for a couple of minutes. The girl sighed to herself, trying to gather the strength for the upcoming day, and hardly got out of bed. After she dressed up, she could hear Five's distant voice going from the room behind the wall and to the hallway, which made her believe that he had just woken up too.

Putting on a small and genuine smile on her face, she opened her door and saw Five standing right in front of it. "Good morning." She chuckled, seeing that he was about to probably knock on her door.

"Oh." Five put his hands together behind his back and smiled. "Good morning. I can see you've had a pretty good sleep, correct?" He teased her, knowing that it was most likely good for her, based on her attitude.

"I could the say the same for you." Y/n walked into the hallway and locked the door on her way out. "Where are the others?" She asked, looking to her sides and seeing one empty hallway.

"Uh, probably already eating breakfast." Five speculated, wanting to go meet them as well. "Which we should probably do as well."

"Oh! Yeah, of course." Y/n snapped back into reality and smiled. "Let's go."

Five must have been starving or was just in a happy mood because he took her hand and instead of walking like normal people to the restaurant, jumped them away to the others with his powers.

Not only did Y/n didn't expect this, she knew she shouldn't be jumping or using Five's powers. This would never get her off guard, but this time was different.

After teleporting, she could feel that something was off. "Oh, that was a bad choice." She chuckled, feeling her head start to spin and her body signaling that she had to sit down if she didn't want to faint right there.

She wished that wouldn't catch Five's attention, but it did. Of course, it did, who did you think Five was? "Something wrong?" He came closer to her.

"Oh, no." The girl tried brushing it off despite feeling her entire body turn. "I just don't think jumping in the morning is the best for me now." She chuckled, hoping that distracted him.

She walked away from him, not knowing that he cautiously followed her with his look, and sat down at a table with Klaus and Diego, trying to brush it away.

"Oh, good morning, sister!" Klaus noticed her presence and laughed, feeling delighted. "You won't believe the news Diego has to share today!" He playfully punched Diego in the arm, getting no response from him. That was unusual, Diego would have punched him back.

Y/n saw Diego's upset look and nodded. "Yeah, I can see that he has great news." She sarcastically agreed.

"Yes!" Klaus almost whispered. "Can you believe that Diego has a kid?" He pretended to be shocked while Y/n didn't.

"Alleged kid." Diego corrected him.

Her eyes went wide as she slowly turned to look at Diego. "You're joking, right?" She looked between him and Klaus in incredulity.

Klaus enjoyed watching Y/n's stunned reaction with a laugh. "Yeah! That little kid over there - that's his spawn." He pointed at Stanley who was enjoying his meat at the other table.

Y/n could already see some similarities, that was her nephew, after all, making her wonder who was the other parent just as Five came back with his drink, overhearing their entire conversation. "Wait, who's the mother?"

"Lila."

"Excuse me?" Klaus's eyes went wide at that, even he didn't know that information yet.

That stunned everyone, not only Klaus. "Whoa, Lila's here?" Five came in closer as Y/n's eyes went wide like little plates.

"Was. She dropped him off in my lap last night then bolted." Diego explained to them, looking down at the ground like a disappointed father.

The siblings all went silent for a second there to take it all in. That did seem like Lila after all. "Is she coming back?" Y/n asked him.

"Well, she goddamn better be because we got more important things to be dealing with right now!" He raised his voice for Stanley to hear on the other side of the restaurant.

"Hey!" Y/n scolded him. "Calm down. Even if you don't like him being here, you're his dad." She scoffed looking away from him, earning a glare.

"Where's Luther?" Vanya asked coming over to them with an entirely new look. Her hair was short, most of it was gone, and she was wearing male clothes. A complete opposite look compared to before.

"Who cares? Probably out for..." Diego's eyes landed on her which made him stop mid-sentence. "...a run."

"Mmm! Love the haircut." Klaus told her while he sipped his coffee.

Vanya seemed flattered by that comment because a wide smile appeared on her face, the biggest and most genuine one in a very long time, she probably expected a different kind of reaction from her siblings. "So I, uh, I talked to Marcus last night."

"Wait, what? You talked with the enemy? By yourself?" Diego interrogated her.

"Oh, for Christ's sake, Diego, I went with her too." Y/n came in Vanya's defense. "Plus, somebody had to do something, you were all busy."

"That's where you were last night?" Five's eyes went wide when he realized she had lied to him.

But she didn't say anything back to him, there were more important things than that. "What did Marcus tell you, Vanya?" She ignored Five's question, to which he scoffed.

But Vanya took a second to reply to her. "It's uh, Viktor."

Y/n wasn't the only one that went silent for a moment there. Guess the look wasn't the only change with her.

"Who's Viktor?" Diego asked with a confused tone.

Everyone waited for an answer from her. "I am. It's who I've always been." But they all stayed quiet, not knowing what to say. "Uh, is that an issue for anyone?"

"Nah, I'm good with it."

"Yeah, me too. Cool."

"Happy for you, Viktor." Y/n smiled at him when his look landed on her. "Truly."

"Me too." Five agreed with Y/n. "But last time I checked, you two don't speak for this family."

"Okay, well, it's fine, okay?" Viktor took a seat between Diego and Y/n. "Marcus totally gets it. He doesn't want a war any more than we do."

"What are you talking about?" Diego raised his voice. "He tried to homicide us!"

"So did we!" Y/n joined in. "We tried to kill their family too."

"No, we were defending ourselves, Y/n." Diego told her with a much lower voice. "That's different, they tried to kill us in our own home."

"Listen, we made a deal. He's gonna give back the briefcase, then we're gonna get out of the timeline." Viktor explained to them and broke the tension between the other two. "We're gonna meet later today for the, uh, the handover."

"Well, they definitely are hiding it somewhere with them." Y/n shook her head. "When I came back there, it was gone."

"Hey, we're not going anywhere!" Five ended their parade. "This is a perfectly acceptable timeline."

"Yeah, why don't you go tell that to Allison, who is upstairs, grieving her daughter, who doesn't even exist here!" Viktor almost yelled at Five.

"Wait, Claire's not here?" Y/n whispered to Viktor, getting a disappointed head shake.

"Not to mention, we've been replaced by a bunch of blobs and cubes and birds and shit!" Diego seemed to be annoyed the most about the Sparrows.

"News flash, geniuses! It's not about us!" Five looked at the four of them. "Take a look around. If you hadn't noticed, there's no doomsday. There's no apocalypse. The sun is shining. Birds are doing whatever the hell birds do. That's all that matters. We're done messing with time. And we're..." He raised his cocktail and looked at Y/n. "...officially retired."

As Five casually walked over to the bar, Y/n sat there in shock for a moment. Before she quickly scurried over to him, trying to keep herself calm and attempting not to freak out. "Listen, I'm sorry I didn't tell you about how I went back to the academy last night." She began talking to him while he was busy taking the food from the buffet. "I thought you would get mad like you're doing it now."

"I'm not mad that you left, Y/n." Five turned to look at her. "I'm mad that you lied to me about something so stupid and simple." The realization finally reached Y/n, making her understand what a huge idiot she was. She looked away from him, keeping her look on the ground, and sighed.

"Hey," Five put down his plate and came in closer to her. "We can finally do whatever we want. Together. And I meant what I said last night."

When she felt his hands trace hers, Y/n looked up at him and tilted her head. "What do you mean by being retired? You don't want to do something?"

Having some suspicions about something Five wasn't aware of, Y/n got more than scared when she heard that from him. Now it seemed as if he just wanted to spend the remaining days of his life doing nothing, while Y/n had something planned inside.

"Is that what scares you?" Five asked her in a soft and quiet voice. "What is it that is bothering you so much, Y/n?"

Now was the moment she could use. It was now or never. But knowing how scared she was, she chose to stay quiet. "I don't want to stop living." She blurted something out for him to distract. "These past twenty days showed me how much I want to continue going for adventures. Without the "Saving the world" part though."

This made Five chuckle. "What makes you think I don't want that as well?" He brushed a small strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear. "I want to continue that as well, but this time, only with you."

"That's gonna sound offensive to the others." Y/n furrowed her eyebrows and squinted her eyes at that comment. "But I just didn't know if you wanted to lay down and not worry about things rather than go somewhere."

Five took a second to think to himself. "Promise me that next time, you won't assume things and come to me. Okay? You always tend to go for the worst-case scenario."

Just as Y/n was about to answer him, she heard Viktor's voice behind her. After turning her head and seeing that this was her call, she pecked a small kiss on his cheek and walked away. "I promise."

As Viktor walked away from the hallway and back to the bar, Y/n joined him. "I think we should bring some breakfast to Allison." She suggested to him. "She needs to eat something after all."

Viktor smiled at that and agreed. "Yeah, that sounds great."

As Viktor went to get a tray, Y/n walked over to the bar and began putting some food on the plate. "So, you feeling better?" Viktor asked when he came over to her.

Y/n looked at him before continuing with a sigh. "Uh, yeah, much better."

"Maybe you would like some coffee?" He kindly suggested to her. "I know that can cure anything for you."

Usually, she would say yes and she was about to until that thought she was trying to shove away came back. "Uh, no, thanks. I'll be fine."

She continued picking out the food with a nervous look, hoping Viktor will brush it off. Which he did, but it didn't leave his mind for too long. "You're probably stressed out about Lila, right?"

Just to make something clear, it wasn't about Lila entirely for Y/n. Yes, it had added up but only minutes before. There was something else that she wasn't going to reveal just now. But she will use Lila as a perfect excuse.

"Yeah, actually yeah." She changed her voice tone to a calmer one. "It's just unbelievable to think that my sister is here and she didn't even come by to talk to me. By the way," She turned to look at him. "Did you know that she and Diego now have a kid?"

"Wait, what?" Viktor's eyes went wide.

"Yeah, and she dropped him off for Diego to be a dad." Y/n chuckled to herself as she put some shrimps to the plate. "Which I highly doubt will work out."

Viktor chuckled at that. "Oh my god, I can't believe that Diego became a father first out of all of the Hargreeves brothers."

"Yeah..." Y/n's smile faded for a quick second there. "...but I know he'll learn it eventually. We'll all have to one way or another."

"𝐇𝐄𝐘, 𝐃'𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐏?" Viktor asked Allison who was laying on her bed, turned away from any light in the room, and fiddled with her wedding ring in her hands. "We brought you some breakfast."

It hurt Y/n's heart to see Allison in such a state. Feeling a small part of her tell her she's guilty for telling Allison to go and visit her daughter, she couldn't say a single word for now.

"I'm not hungry." Allison told him, rolling over to her side more.

"Come on." Viktor sat down on the edge of her bed while Y/n sat down on hers. "You should really eat something.

"Allison, we might have a way out of this." Y/n's voice quivered as she said that. Going against what Five told them they specifically won't do, she felt guilty, but her sister's happiness was more important.

Allison turned to her side to see Y/n and sat up in her bed. "What do you mean?"

"The briefcase. We're gonna try and get it back."

"How?"

"We're meeting Marcus again today." Viktor explained to her. "We're gonna do a trade."

Allison looked at the two in disbelief and without hesitation stood up from her bed. "All right, I'm coming with you two."

"Wait, what?" Y/n stood up as well. "You sure?"

"Yes." Allison told her as Viktor stood up as well. "I'm not letting you two go alone. End of story."

"What makes you think we don't want you with us?" Viktor asked her, making the three of them softly chuckle. "Besides, I wouldn't be able to handle Y/n all alone anyways."
