𝐍𝐎 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 in the courtyard as hard raindrops fell on the ground and the Hargreeves family, carrying their black Umbrella's with them except for Luther and Diego, gathered outside.

Luther carried their father's ashes in his hands as everyone else kept their looks down at the ground. To them, this funeral service felt unnecessary, none of the kids had something to thank Reginald for.

Not to mention, that they felt no sympathy or love for him.

Y/n and Five stood next to each other with separate umbrellas of their own with the boy always glancing at her, not being able to keep his look away which she ignored. The girl's cheeks were still wet from before, even if the rain had merged together with it.

"Did something happen?" Grace spoke up looking over at everyone with confused glances.

"Dad died." Allison answered her with a bewildered look after a couple of seconds of silence passed between everyone. "Remember?"

"Oh. Yes, of course." Grace looked away at the ground with a dazed voice.

Not only did it bring a disheveled impression to the siblings, but it also seemed as if their mother wasn't the same person anymore.

Allison turned to her siblings for answers. "Is mom ok?"

"Yeah, yeah, she's fine." Diego quickly replied to her as he turned his head and noticed Grace's pale face as well. "She just needs to rest. You know, recharge."

As everyone looked away not wanting to get into more detail with Diego, Pogo walked out with his umbrella and stick. He looked over at everyone, seeing the disgruntlement in the kid's faces bright as day, before speaking up. "Whenever you're ready, dear boy."

He told Luther who was awkwardly standing with his wet hair dripping down his face from the rain, awaiting his turn.

Luther opened up the ashes and slowly poured them out in a pathetic little pile in front of him, Klaus even hissed at that. The mound was just in front of his feet making him look down and up at others. "Probably would have been better with some wind."

It would have probably been better if this never occurred at all. The siblings looked down at the ground, not knowing what to do next, and wished to get out of the place as soon as possible.

"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo politely asked even if he knew the answer to the question all by himself. After looking over everyone and getting their answers loud and clear, he continued. "Very well. In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today. For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master...and my friend, and I shall miss him very much. He leaves behind a complicated legacy-"

"He was a monster." Diego interrupted Pogo's speech with a monotone voice which made Klaus laugh out loud. Y/n, standing next to him, gave him a death glare, making Klaus shut up and pull himself together only on the outside.

"He was a bad person and a worse father. The world's better off without him."

"Diego-"

"My name is Number Two." Diego cut Allison off not taking in any comments at the moment. "You know why? Because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names, he had mom do it."

"Would anyone like something to eat?" Grace asked everyone with a smile at the mention of her.

"No, it's ok, Mom." Vanya answered for her.

"Oh, okay."

"Look, you wanna pay your respects?" Diego walked out to the middle of the courtyard with his hands in the air. "Go ahead. But at least be honest about the kind of man he was."

"You should stop talking now." Luther sternly told him.

Diego heard Luther and turned to him but stared for a couple of seconds before answering. "You know, you of all people should be on my side here, Number One."

"I am warning you."

"After everything, he did to you?" Diego continued talking. "He had to ship you a million miles away."

"Oh, shit..." Y/n rolled her eyes at their behavior and sighed, getting Five's attention in the process.

"Diego, stop talking." Luther said through gritted teeth.

"That's how much he couldn't stand the sight of you!" Diego pointed at his chest with a big tone which was enough to break him.

The two began exchanging swings, punches, and kicks as everyone backed away from them. Letting the boys have their fight was also something Y/n did as she took three steps back.

"Boys, stop this at once!" Pogo yelled at them, hoping to get their attention, only to be ignored. Klaus shielded the kids with his hands but that was until Five pushed it away and Y/n turned to her right, about to walk out.

The boy saw that she was about to leave and quickly walked backward, stopping her from taking any more steps. "Stop."

Y/n tilted her head and stopped at her pace. "Let me go, Five."

"You stay here." He strictly told her as if she was his. That made Y/n lose her patience as she shoved him away and walked past him as the other two continued fighting. "Y/n." Five looked around himself as she was gone in a split second and began walking after her.

He finally caught up with her and turned his head towards her. "What are you-"

"Stop it already." Y/n took one last step before stopping, not against her own will this time, and looked at him. But the faint thud of Ben's statue, falling to the ground, was the thing that made the two turn their heads at the same moment Ben's head fell off.

"And there goes Ben's statue." Allison sarcastically remarked. About to start walking to the entrance, Allison turned around but that was before Diego pulled out a knife and identified his target.

Vanya saw his actions and shouted. "Diego, no!"

But Y/n was quicker than her and used her powers to change the trajectory of the knife so that it only pierced Luther's arm. In just a split second, Luther's gasps indicated that as he turned to look at her, along with everyone else.

Y/n put her hand down and scoffed. "You two haven't matured at all." She commented making everyone's eyes go wide. "You may don't have to show respect for our father, but you can at least do it for your dead brother."

She gave the two one last death stare before turning around and walking inside the house. Five was left speechless for a moment, just like everyone else, until he snapped back into reality and followed the girl.

He shook his umbrella at the threshold, wanting to take the excess water off it, before closing it and putting it away in its holder by the door. Thinking of what to say, he saw Y/n take off her coat and walked over to her. "You okay?"

But Y/n loudly shut the closet door, making the echo go through the entire house, as she turned and walked away from him without a word.

"𝐎𝐇, 𝐆𝐎𝐃, if we have to wear these jumpsuits then I'm sure as well we'll have to do something bad." Y/n chuckled to herself as she walked with her siblings across the hallways, following their mother. "They don't mean anything good."

"Probably." Five agreed with her making his way closer to her. "But at least it's something interesting."

Y/n tilted her head and raised her eyebrow at him. "Really? Because last time we had to run around the house 18 times in these."

She poked him in the arm, making Five enjoy that action and chuckle. "And? It wasn't as bad as I thought."

"Gather along kids!" Their mother's sweet voice caught their attention as she opened a small door for them and showed them the way inside it.

After exchanging some confused and worried glances with each other, Five and Y/n followed their siblings into the room only to lift their heads up and see the endless set of stairs they didn't expect.

"Ah, shit." Y/n sighed and crossed her arms on her chest. "So that'd what dad's been doing with this place all these months."

That caused Five to snicker and earn a very mean death glare from his father, even if he was up at the top of the stairs with their sister Vanya holding a whistle in her hands. It didn't take long for them to understand what was supposed to go down now, and before they knew it, their father gave one last look and Vanya blew the whistle out of nowhere as the kids began bolting up the stairs.

No surprise there, but Luther instantly got into the lead. But he only took a couple of steps before Diego ran past him, making Luther boil with anger and frustration. The two boys fought with each other as Five was getting ready to jump.

Y/n saw his preparation and quickly tagged him, jumping even higher than him. "Hey!" Five shouted out for her as the girl giggled being pleased with his reaction.

"That's not fair, Five and Y/n are cheating!" Diego joined in yelling after the two.

"They adapted." Their father strictly answered him.

After just a couple of seconds later, the winner was none other than Y/n herself. She finally took the last step of the stairs and put her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath after feeling as if she ran a marathon.

"You know, you cheated, right?" Diego's voice was heard.

Y/n rolled her eyes and stood up with a small smirk on her face. "I know I didn't." She crossed her hands on her chest. "Besides, don't take it so seriously, Diego. It's just a game."

"Hey." Five broke their tension by walking over to the two. "If what she did is considered cheating, then so did I."

Diego held in his anger within him and walked over to Five and away from Y/n. "Yes, you did. And that's is bad."

"Oh, stop it, Diego, already." Y/n brushed it away by walking over to the boy. "Just because you're weak as fuck doesn't mean we're responsible for it."

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐍'𝐒 𝐒𝐎𝐅𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐁𝐒 in Klaus' arms filled the silent room where only the buzzing of the tattoo machine working was heard. Number two sat in the tattoo chair along with his mother, standing next to him. But wanting to act tough, he moved away from his mother's hand, making her back away from him.

Number one, five, six, and eight were silently sitting in their chairs waiting to get their own academy tattoos. Watching their siblings get theirs in such painful ways and reactions made everyone scared, no matter their confidence.

But Y/n's eyes couldn't leave Diego's helpless body in the chair as anxiety within her grew higher by the minute. Five, sitting next to her, attempted to help her calm down by putting his right hand on her left and squeezing it.

"Hey, everything's going to be ok." He softly whispered to her with an unsure smile feeling scared even by himself.

Y/n saw his worriedness better than he imagined she would. That's why her eyes were about to water as she moved in closer. "I think it is going to be worse than you think, look at Diego: he's a confident man, but even that needle scares him." She pointed at him.

"Number Five and Number Eight!" Their father's harsh voice pierced through the room making everyone draw their attention to the two. "Silence!"

"𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐆𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐀 𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐈𝐓, it's a real breathtaking experience. "Klaus told Y/n in a raspy voice as he heavily sighed in his seat with a guitar in his hands. "Even if it's bad, it's worth it. I mean, I wouldn't be doing it every day if it's not."

But Y/n just continued to play with her nails and didn't take her look off them. "Uh-huh, yeah, totally." The girl pretended to care about it, knowing that Klaus wasn't going to take it the wrong way, sitting in her chair with her legs up to her chest. "I'll be sure to put it on my bucket list."

"Oh, yeah. You should." Klaus sat up in his seat and tilted his head at her as if he was daydreaming just by looking at her. "Wow, you have become even sassier than before, Y/n. I like that."

But as soon as Five heard that comment, a loud bang caught everyone off-guard when he put down an empty coffee pot on the table. He had been rummaging through the cabinets, desperately trying to find some traces of coffee but with no luck.

The girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion at him and the pot, that was sitting right next to her, while Five just looked away from her, trying to avoid eye contact.

Before Klaus could give a confused glance at Y/n, Allison walked into the kitchen. "Where's Vanya?" She asked the three siblings, putting her coat down on a chair and walking up to the table.

Klaus quickly got into his character and got comfortable in his seat again. "Oh, she's gone." He sighed in his seat, hugging his guitar in his embrace.

"That's unfortunate." Five remarked at Klaus's answer while leaning against the table with his hands, making Y/n roll her eyes and answer her sister by herself.

"She left about an hour ago if that's what you're asking." She replied locking eyes with Allison for a moment. It's important to mention that Allison was the most eager to try and talk with Y/n, but she couldn't let it show. That's why she put her head down after nodding for Y/n in response.

But the awkward silence wasn't let to settle down between everyone because Five continued talking complaints out. "An entire square block. 42 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, but no, not a single drop of coffee." He looked up at Allison who crosses her arms on her chest.

"Dad hated caffeine."

"Well, he hated children, too, and he had plenty of us." Klaus laughed out loud at his joke but after noticing that everyone else stayed silent, he calmed down. He even looked over at Y/n for one last hope only to see her sitting there with a blank expression on her face.

"Get up." Five ordered for Y/n, motioning for her to follow him. "We're going."

The girl turned her head to look at him to disagree. "I'm sorry?"

Five stopped in his movements and came in closer to her with a look that showed his zero patience for, what he deemed, her shenanigans. "We're taking the car. Come on, let's go."

Luckily for Five, it was a very rare moment when Y/n stood up from her seat and abided his orders. Guess she wasn't in the mood to get into fights with him. Besides, she had let out her anger before.

"Where are you going?" Klaus questioned the two as Y/n stood up and turned her head to look at him.'

She sighed, seeing that Five wasn't going to answer him in a nice way. "To try cannabis, Klaus." Guess she wasn't about to do it politely either as she mocked him. "To get some coffee for Christ's sake."

𝐀𝐓 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓, 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐖𝐄𝐈𝐑𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐖. But after a couple of seconds of inspecting, Y/n saw herself sitting on Five's lap in the driver's seat of the car. The boy was keeping it quiet, not saying anything. This is why when Y/n locked eyes with him and saw that he was sitting there speechless, she scoffed and made her way into the passenger's seat.

As Y/n kept cursing him in her mind, Five started the engine by twisting the car keys and the two were on their way. The drive was silent, but not awkward. The two kept to themselves, even if Five was looking at Y/n back and forth, not being able to keep his look straight ahead.

When the girl had enough of that, she removed her chin off her hand and turned her head to look at Five. "Do we have a plan?"

The boy took a glance to look at her. "A plan for what exactly?"

She looked at him with a look of disbelief. "Uh, a plan for saving the fucking world. What else?"

He was going to act all stupid and childish - that was already seen by her. Not only she, but every woman hated when men acted that way, it made them look so immature.

"Don't worry." Five told her, not looking away from the road. "I have one already."

Y/n scoffed in her seat and crossed her hands on her chest. "Okay, yeah, great...then do you mind sharing it with me?"

"Oh, it's simple." The boy pretended to shrug and smile. "Save the world and try and live out the remaining of our lives as peacefully as possible."

At this point, Y/n had lost all hope within him. There was no point in talking with him, that's why she gave up on asking any more questions. But it didn't take long for them to pull up to the parking lot of a familiar place.

Y/n lifted up her head as her eyes flashed with the lit-up signs and she felt at home as ever. Not a single thought of coming here came up in her head and it certainly felt strange being back here.

As Five turned off the car's engine, he noticed her blankly staring at the shop. Not even talking to her, he could sense that she was probably feeling uneased. "You okay?"

Y/n snapped out of her gaze and shook her head. "Yeah, fine."

After Y/n continued to get out of the car as fast as possible, the pair made it to the "Griddy's doughnuts" shop they hadn't been in for decades. Even though they were here a long time ago, it didn't feel nor did it look any different. Maybe the restaurant being completely empty had to do with something.

After the two sat down at the counter with Y/n on Five's right, the boy rang the bell, trying to notify some workers of their presence. But as the boy's patience grew smaller and smaller by the second, a tow-truck driver came through the door and sat down next to him.

The three of them still continued keeping to themselves as the man took off his hat and began completing a crossword he found on the counter. The man shot some confused glances at the kids, thinking what the hell they were doing here right before a waitress in a pink and white uniform came to serve them.

"Sorry, the sink was clogged." She gave the three a smile, earning a nod from the man, before taking her small notebook and pen out of her apron. "So, what'll be?"

"Uh..." The driver hesitantly began talking, not knowing if he should order first. "...give me a chocolate eclair.

"Mm-hmm, sure." The waitress, Agnes, wrote down on her notebook before looking over at the couple. "Can I get the kids a glass of milk or something?" She asked the man who gave her a bewildered look, not understanding what she was talking about.

But Five just scoffed at that and gave a smile. "The kids want coffee."

"Black." Y/n completed the order for the two as if they had already planned this.

Agnes looked at the kids and back at the man with a nervous smile. "Cute kids." She softly chuckled, hoping to clear the awkward atmosphere between everyone but not succeeding at it at all.

Five also attempted to help her in the worst way possible - smiling like a devil which only crept Agnes and the man the hell out. Y/n didn't even bother to show her teeth for them, knowing that it wasn't going to make things better. But Agnes had enough of them and walked away from them to prepare their orders.

Meanwhile, Y/n kept her look and head down, trying to calm herself and avoiding any eye contact with anyone. So many problems needed to be solved, but so little time and solving was given to them.
