"They're here!" Data screamed "Data, I thought you set boobytraps?" I asked "I did!"
"Then wh-"
"there's no time for arguing, come on! Let's get out of here!" Brand said, pulling my arm. I pulled datas. And we started running into one of the tunnels.
•••
Stef was holding my hand, while I held onto Jonah's.
we were at a bridge or something like a bridge anyway. But it was slippery. And there was nothing to hold onto while crossing it.
Brand was the first one to cross, he almost slipped. Until Andi pulled his sweater.
Stef, Andi and Brand made it across. Me and Data were in the last of the line.
"Someone's coming!!" Stef held her hand out for me to grab, I immediately grabbed her hand and she pulled me up.
"Data, come on! Don't be a fool" Mikey yelled. I looked back towards Data.
Looked like he had an idea "Oh man, Data what's going on?" I asked. "I got an idea guys! Slick shoes" Data pulled a string from his chest. "What? Slick shoes are you insane?!" Me and Mouth yelled in unison. Data had a smile on his face, he slowly crossed the log.
I looked behind Data, the fratellies
were standing there "Hey fellas, remember me?" One of the dudes asked "Nope, see ya dickhead!" I yelled with a sarcastic smile.
"say that again and I'll shoot." The guy held up a gun & then shot up, Data did something for them to shoot at us. Almost shooting mikey.
I grabbed Mikey's hand, "come on Mikey."
He held onto my hand and I pulled him up.

"Does anyone have a match?" Brand asked "No, why would we have matches?" Mouth said,

"Use the light." Kelsey said, turning around to make sure the Fratellies weren't coming "good idea." Data pulled out the candle and lit up the candle. "I thought you said no one had matches?" I looked at the boys with a puzzled look.
•••
There was light around, I could see something from a few feet away.
"wow.. guys look" I whispered while walking towards the thing, "whoa.." Kelsey mumbled
There was a skeleton. It looked really scary honestly, "radical!" Jonah said,
I looked at Jonah. He shrugged "It looks cool"

"June, or Mouth, translate this." Mikey held up the map, everyone looked at me "what?" I asked "Translate it." Mouth said.
I groaned, grabbing the map away from Mikey "to move on.. play the tune, as each note will be said.. if you make too many mistakes. You will surely be-"
"surely be what?"
"Come on June, what will happen?" Andi asked, "muerto.."
"What does Muetro mean?"
"Dead.." I trailed off, i then handed Mikey the map. "Oh man.."
"So we gotta play the bones to get out of here" Brand says.
"exactly" Mikey said. I stared at Mikey, "You serious?" I asked "Yes. Yes.. look! Behind the map. There's notes, like piano notes." Mikey flipped the map, he pointed to the notes "Andi, you took piano lessons." Stef says "Yeah, four years ago Stef!"
"Come on Andi! Our lives depends on you,"
"Yeah, Thanks a lot." Andi says sarcastically,
Andi started getting anxious, "I'm trying to find middle C. This is nothing like my mother's."
She hit one note and the passageway for the door opened a little, "oh my god it's working!" Brand yelled in excitement.

"Good work Andi" I cheered, she forced a smile on her face, "okay.. um Uh- I don't know. A.. B-"
She hit another note and this time.. the horn blew, it wasn't the right one.
Mouth yelled, the ground broke. Mouth almost fell. Until Stef and Andi grabbed him.
"Mouth!"
They pulled him back up, I looked over at Mouth. He looked scared. "You okay?" I mouthed, He nodded.
"Andi! Stop hitting the wrong notes for crying out loud! You took piano lessons didn't you!?"
"Four years ago alright?"
"Okay.. maybe this one. Oh god I hope" Andi hit another note, it was the wrong note. Because brand almost fell over.
I grabbed brand and pulled him up with the help of the rest.
"okay.. umm- A Flat." Andi pressed down, the door opened a little more.
I smiled "Keep going!"
"they're coming you guys!" Data came running towards us, making Andi tip over. She hit random keys. The horn blew again,
The ground broke into pieces.
Making me fall, I felt them grab my arms, "I got you. I got you, June don't worry" Mikey says, I closed my eyes. I didn't want to look down. It might make me faint and I don't think fainting would be a great idea right now..
They all pulled me back up.
"Are you okay? Are you okay?!" Kelsey asked, "yes Kelsey, I'm okay." I said as I hugged Kelsey.
"I cant tell if it's an A Sharp or a B Flat." Andi says "hey, if you press the wrong note again.. we'll all Be Flat." Mikey chuckles a little, Andi sighed.
She pressed down onto the key, I looked towards the door, it opened all the way.
"Look!" I yelled.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

The Waterborne - Blasphemous Series
Gamelit / LITRPG Elements are common in this novel. Some say a single action can't change anything. But what if you add another action? And another one? At one point, you would have to agree that a single action can change a person's life. When a young woman is plagued by a mental illness, only a benevolent god can give her a deal worth taking. Living again in another world where underwater monsters, rebellious factions and ancient artefacts are common place, we will have to see, just how much a single action can change things. Updated M - W - S (During the editing / rewriting process, updates are postponed.) This novel is a part of the Blasphemous Series, which can be read in any order, I recommend new readers start with this novel.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
