《Her Seduction | ✔》Chapter 23

"—appear. A Slade's wrath is worse than Hell unleashing on earth."
I woke up hearing two things: hushed whispers and chirping of birds. I assumed it was some time during the day, since that's when birds are most active. My eyes fluttered open slowly and my senses came again. I looked around me steadily, blinking my eyes to get rid of the blurriness. My blood was boiling.
I was locked in an underground dungeon, lying on the dirty floor. Oh, it's going down.
I hissed as I tried to get up, but my feet were too wobbly so they gave out on me, causing me to collapse violently against the stone ground. Why was it so dark here with only threads of sunlight piercing through?
Was I going to stick around and smile at the filthiness of this place? Was I going to be some princess and wait for my prince charming to come save me? The answer was as obvious as the filthiness of this place. I try to stand again, but that was like an attempt to lift an unsteady elephant.
"You're too weak right now."
My head snapped to the direction of the voice, and my eyes met a gorgeous face that I've never seen before. Cold, cobalt blue eyes and charmingly messy red hair. Muscular yet lean body and a tall figure. Delicious, yet even the blindest eye could see that this man wouldn't stand a chance against Sebastian. I was starting to think that there isn't anyone close enough to rival Sebastian's out-of-this-world looks. Yuck, so cliché.
Wait. Weak? Did he call me weak?
"You can only regain your energy through feeding." he says, watching me carefully. "Something which you won't be doing for a while." he smirks when he notices my tense figure.
"Where the hell am I, Witch?" I hiss forcefully, pulling myself into a sitting position. I feel fine, but I can't stand up on my feet. That's the problem.
"You can tell that I'm a Witch?" he asks with amusement as he pulls a nearby chair and places it in front of my cell before he straddles it, his arms resting on the top of the chair.
I snort. At least he sounds somehow entertaining. I look him with a frown and pretend to think. "I was going to say zombie, but you don't look dead," I said, then smirked. "Yet."
He was quiet, observing me with heavy silence. His eyes were narrowed on me in concentration, as though he was trying to answer something. I couldn't take more of it, and so I rolled my eyes.
"Why don't you take a picture?" I said with a tight smile. "It lasts longer."
A chuckle vibrated from within his chest and tickled my ears as the sound travelled inside the quiet underground basement. Why was he amused?
"On another note," I began, feeling bored with the situation. "What the hell did you fools give me to knock me out like that?" I narrowed my eyes at the unpleasant memory.
"Oh, that?" he chuckles, running a hand through his hair to tame it down. "Witch blood, Wolfsbane and a little Vervain. Enough to numb a Vampire but not enough to hurt them."
Yuck, please tell me it wasn't his blood. He is handsome, but he's a Witch. I must have made a disgusted look unconsciously, because the Witch laughed again.
"I heard you're a Slade's Vampire. Who is it?" he tilts his head, his face going back to its focused expression. There's that question again.

"Fried rice." I look him straight in the eyes, my face more serious than it should have been. Suddenly, he bursts out laughing, looking at me with a funny look. Was he on drugs? He calms himself, but I still see his shoulders shaking a little. Seriously, it wasn't that funny. I only said what was I was thinking of.
"Aren't you worried, at least?" he asks, tipping his head to the side and still eyeing me with caution. "You're in Cruel Howlers' underground prison. The least you could feel is fear."
His comment made me laugh, strangely. I don't know why, but I found it quiet humorous. "Worried? Fear?" I question, raising an eyebrow at him. He continues to look at me silently, as though he wasn't able to figure me out. Not many can do that, I make sure I stay as unpredictable as possible. "A pack of mutts doesn't scare me. Fear or worry don't exist in my dictionary, unless they're caused by a certain Slade."
"Wow," he says, looking somehow surprised by my answer. I mean, it was expected. "I see another reason why that certain Slade is fond of you. You really are something."
"Tell me something I don't know." I scoff, not bothered to look him in the eyes. I close my eyes and put my attention on my ears as I rest my head against the solid wall.
He whistles. Glad to know I entertain him. "That ego of yours." he says. "I like it."
"Yeah, and I like Sebastian." I say, making it the most obvious thing in the world.
"What?" the Witch asks, confused.
I open my eyes and look at him with a blank face. "I thought we were saying undeniable things."
He laughs lowly, shaking his head slightly. "Tell me, how did your Slade know the Alpha's deceased son?" he questions, interested.
I raise an eyebrow, narrowing my eyes on him. "You mean Chase?"
The Witch straightens up, looking at me with startled eyes. "You knew the Alpha's son?"
"Naturally." I roll my eyes at his stupidness. Why else would I mention his name? "He was my mate, I rejected him, then my Slade killed him, and after that everyone lived happily ever after with unicorns flying around and vomiting rainbows." I said with a fake grin, waving my hands around to create a rainbow for him.
"Your Slade?" he questions, raising an eyebrow as his body becomes a little tense. I bet he didn't know I was Chase's mate. I smirked slightly. I will make sure those bastards pay for what they are doing to me, and while doing that, I'll feast on their frightened faces.
"Yes, my Slade... Sebastian Slade."
Discernibly, the witch stiffens and his eyes wash with a feeling I've seen too many times before. Fear. That's right, you morons will be dealing with hell once Sebastian finds out.
"James!" the Witch yells, standing up quickly and knocking the chair down whilst doing so. A handsome Werewolf barges into the room, his eyes wide in alert.
"Keep an eye on her. Whatever she does, don't fall into it. Make sure nothing happens to her otherwise our organs become dinner before we know it."
And just like that, the Witch hurries out. He is so scared. It'll be fun when I kill him— I will be the one to kill him.
All right, let the game begin.
"Uh, it's so hot in here." I say with a specific tone, pleased when the Werewolf's eyes snap to me and take my figure in. My hands slowly travel to my neck and caress the skin softly. I bit my lower lip as I stared at the Werewolf, and I nearly smirked when I saw his eyes darken to that lustful colour.

"James." I purr, licking my fangs when he slowly began to approach me. He's too easy, even though the Witch warned him. A man who's filled with desire is just too easy to manipulate.
"God, that's erotic." he spoke breathlessly, as though he had his breath knocked out of him. I arch my back against the stone wall and gesture for him to come to me with a provoking attitude. I slide a finger down my neck and then place it on my bottom fang, biting it gently.
"Come to me, James." I purr again, moaning and arching my back further. I can smell his arousal, it was so strong. What can I say, my seduction is simply irresistible.
"I want you to touch me. Come on." I pout and arch my body more, exposing a bit of my stomach in the process. Without thinking, the fool opens the dungeon's gate and swiftly walks to me before he smashes his lips against mine. I arouse him, moving my lips against his hungrily to distract him completely.
The fool walked directly to his death.
When I could feel his blood rushing inside him, I pulled away and stabbed his neck mercilessly, making sure my fangs went deep enough to paralyse him. I pierced his chest with my hand and gripped his heart tightly, feeling him cry in pain lowly. If I hadn't done that, he would have called someone through his mind-link.
His heartbeats were slowing down, becoming quieter and his blood was lessening. Soon, there was nothing for me to drink, no heartbeats for me to feel or hear. I pulled away and threw him harshly, feeling my energy stronger than before.
"Stupid mutt." I chuckle darkly. I stand up and dust myself, clean the blood on my hand with the Werewolf's shirt before I walk to the door of the basement. I readjust my hearing and stand in front of the door. I need to plan this carefully, not recklessly.
I couldn't hear any heartbeats or voices outside, which meant there were no guards. I open the door slowly, poking my head out and checking the atmosphere. All clear.
I ready myself and before I know it, I was super-speeding away from the underground basement. I was passing through smoothly, avoiding to make eye contact with the lifeless eyes of the hanging heads of the dead, yet before I could even make it past the Pack House, I was knocked down to the ground with such force I thought my stomach ripped my back and jumped out. Ugh, I bet my beautiful back is scratched, but it'll heal.
"Going somewhere, beautiful demon?"
My eyes turned into their blood-seeking silver shade when I glanced at him. He was smirking dangerously, his grip on my neck tightening when I hissed. When did he grab my neck?
"Let go, or you'll be buried under the ground before you know it." I threaten gravely, trying to stand up. His clasp on my neck holds me down forcefully, making my neck squeeze painfully and I see him enjoying my pain.
"Alex! The Alpha needs her alive!" someone shouts from somewhere. When my attacker was distracted, I pulled my leg up and crashed it against the back of his head. When he backed away, holding his head to ease the pain, I charged at him and threw him to the ground. I ended up straddling his waist and reaching out to his heart, except my hand couldn't pierce his chest quite yet.
The Werewolf had grabbed my hand and spun us around, which ended up in him straddling me down. He had a hand on my neck and a hand holding my wrists together above my head.
I let out the loudest, most enraged hiss I have ever heard from me. It was so loud, my ears vibrated slightly because of the sound. My soul was whispering loudly and my breathing was deep and heavy. I was beyond furious.
"Alex!"
After gazing at me with amusement and a mocking smirk, he pulled me up by my neck and lowered his head so close that our noses were brushing. If he is aiming to kiss me after all he had done, I'll just rip his tongue out.
"We'll continue this later, beautiful demon." I narrow my silver eyes at him, and then I do something he hadn't expected.
I headbutt his forehead, hard.
He growls loudly, rubbing his temple with his freehand. At least his hold on my neck loosened. When he composed himself, he glared and began pulling me savagely by my neck. I felt like a dog being dragged against its will.
I hiss, claw at his arm and side, yell and even curse him, but he did nothing. He was dragging me to the Pack House in a humiliating way. Werewolves were gathering around, amazed at the sight of a Vampire being humiliated and treated badly in front of them.
Old enemies, one has got to love them. Werewolves and Witches, I hate them with such burning passion, I could usually taste it.
"Let go, you stupid mutt! How dare you?!" I rage, hissing and clawing more. The only thing he'd do was tense every time I made his body bleed. Soon, I was dragged to a huge living room— which looked smaller than any room in Sebastian's mansion— with probably half of the pack looking at me. Never did the jerk let go of my neck or stop humiliating me like that.
"Well done, Alex. But, I thought I told you I needed her here unharmed." I think the one who spoke was the Alpha. He had the air of authority going around him the most. He looked at me with an amazed expression, but he narrowed his eyes when he saw the way I was brought into the room.
"Come, Vampire. Please, join us." the Alpha commanded. Even with a please, it was still a command. That ticked me off, and I decided to lock my jaw in place and glare at him. A tight hold on my neck pushed me down in front of the Alpha.
Down in front of him. He did not just do that.
With yet another angered hiss, I charged at Alex, the one who pushed me in front of the Alpha. Just as I was going to grab his neck, he pulls me into his chest and wraps a muscled arm around my neck which leaves me gasping for air. The mutt was handling me with a tight headlock.
"Spirited. I like you." says the amused Alpha. I smirk through my suffocation, and look at the Alpha with detectable arrogance.
"Tell me something I don't know."
The Alpha laughs, along with some in the room. I notice the Witch from before gazing at me quietly, just like before. Alex's grip on my neck vanishes, and soon I notice myself sitting down on a chair, not able to feel my feet.
Did that Witch numb my feet?!
"Now," said the Alpha when everyone quietened down. "Carter told me you were my son's mate, the one you rejected and your Slade killed."
I leaned my head on my palm and smirked at the way the Alpha was looking at me. If I was going to be treated badly, why not give them Hell?
"I bet he even told you that my Slade is the one and only, Sebastian Slade."
My eyes darted around to the shocked and horrified faces of the pack members as soon as I said Sebastian's name. This was so entertaining. The Alpha narrows his eyes at me, but I still noticed the way his body became rigid and the way his fists clenched.
The Alpha cleared his throat, bringing my attention back to him. "Yes, he informed me of the unfortunate news. However, I want to make a deal with you."
I raised an eyebrow and tilted my head.
"I want you to convince that Slade to leave my pack alone, unharmed."
I snickered. That was such a weak statement, even for an Alpha of a scary pack. Pathetic. "That's quite pathetic for an Alpha, don't you think?" I voice my thoughts. A hand is placed on my right shoulder from the back, and that hand applies pressure. It must be that damned Alex.
"Is that all?" I ask, uninterested.
"No." the Alpha pauses, thinking his words through as he looks at the Witch, Carter. "Since you're my deceased son's mate, I want you to stay in our pack, which means I want you to leave your Slade."
Ignoring the way he commanded me for a second, I laugh loudly. I laughed at the way he expected me to stay with a pack of mutts who humiliated me, and the fact that he demanded me to leave my Slade. When I remembered the way he commanded me, I stopped laughing and with speed, I pulled the vase beside me and threw it at the Alpha.
The lucky bastard was able to evade it.
Everyone gasped, and the hand on my right shoulder became impossibly stronger. Will he stop that?! When every shocked eye turned to me, I felt my fangs lengthen and throb in my mouth. "Was that a command I heard, mutt?" I hiss, finally managing to shove Alex's hand away from my shoulder and stand up. The Alpha looked shocked, so did everyone else in the room. "Rule number one: no one commands me or tells me what to do!"
And like that, I was forcefully pushed back on the seat.
"I will break your throat if you touch me again!" I let out another loud hiss, and this time I was able to see the damage. Some wolves blocked their ears whilst wincing.
"Alex, stay back." the Alpha commands. It irritated me how Alex went along with his Alpha's command. I didn't like being told what to do, so why did he go with it?
"I see many reasons why you have that Slade following you. That aside, how about you entertain us? Sing us a song that voices your thoughts and feelings. I bet you're anxious, at the moment." he mocked, encouraging some to laugh. The way the Alpha smirked and spoke, it was as though he was challenging me, trying to embarrass me.
Joke's on him, there's nothing I can't do.
"Sing?" I asked, smirking. "I wasn't aware of this being a musical. Your pack sure is different." I mocked, the hidden meaning behind my words didn't go unnoticed, which earned me a few growls. How entertaining.
Alex grabs my upper arm and pulls me over to the huge piano that was placed near the corner. Everyone looks at me with funny looks, yet I pay them no attention. Alex forces me down, then smirks at me when I glare at him. I hate this guy so damn much.
"Sing us your thoughts." grins the Alpha.
Okay, then.
I stab the piano keys randomly, making horrible sounds as I scream, "These mutts will face their death—"
"Sing properly!" the Alpha growls, looking at me with daggers in his eyes. I smirk, looking down on him and his pack.
"I thought you wanted me to sing my thoughts?" I tease.
Suddenly, a hand grabs my neck and pulls me close to an irritated face. "You better do what the Alpha says, otherwise you'll lose your life when I'll shoot you down." Alex snarls in my face, his jaw opened to reveal his sharp canine teeth.
I slap Alex's hands away from me and look down at the piano keys silently, closing my eyes and motivating myself to calm down.
My fingers press on the keys forcefully, and I play the lower pitches that sound angry and more frightening.
"You shout it out
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud, not saying much..."
I sing lowly, acoustically, as my fingers dance around the keys of the piano, creating such a sound that evokes anger, sadness and determination within the listener. My fingers then play harder on the lower and higher keys, forcefully evoking more anger and determination. I remember the song, but I won't sing it the way it was sung.

Noli Me Tank in a Mall
Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are important cultural works that ignited the Philippine Revolution against Spain. They are novels that exposed to the populace the abuses and the injustices of their Spanish colonial rulers, the hypocrisy of their priests, and inherent cruelty of their class structure over the powerless masses. Unfortunately, they rose up in the middle of the Spanish-American War, one which saw Spain lose most of their overseas colonies and decisively end as a World Power. The war ended in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in which Spain also sold the Philippines to the USA for the sum of twenty million dollars. The revolutionary government was then crushed by the overwhelming military might of the United States and the Philippines turned into a territory. While the Philippines stands as the USA's greatest successes in nation-building, their early occupation left almost one-fifth of the population dead from combat and disease. Jose Rizal was executed by the Spanish long before knowing what might happen to his country. The world presented within The Noli and the El Fili is therefore stuck frozen in time, forever caught in that moment before a Revolution. Now let's see what happens to this nation if we give it the Light Novel treatment and jam the entirety of the Internet into their protagonist's skull and watch him try to fix things with his unfortunate tendency to sound like a supervillain. Updates Mondays and Fridays. Note: The Noli and El Fili have been public domain since 1946. This is completely fair game.
