"Alright mom.." Amber groaned as she listened to Ariele complain about not seeing her or Mecca.
Over the past year, they had reconnected and were working on their relationship.
"I'm so serious Amber, should I drive up there? Or you coming to Savannah?"
Amber rolled her eyes as she thought about it.
"I'll just come there.. is this weekend good?"
She figured that Knowledge's parents could see Mecca too.
"Yessss, you can come see the office too." Ariele said referring to her new law firm.
"Ight ma, I have to go get Mecs. It was her first day at daycare."
"You started school already?" Ariele asked.
"No, that's not until the fall but I wanted to get her used to other kids and the teachers." Amber told her.
Ariele nodded "Okay, well I'll see y'all soon! I love you."
"I love you too." Amber smiled.
Since two years has passed, Amber had some time to reflect. She knew now that there was some things she was wrong about and somethings that Ariele was wrong about.
And now that she had her own kid, she realized parents aren't perfect.

"My niece so prettyyyy." Sky smiled as she sat on Amber's bed playing with Mecca.
"You coming to Savannah wit us?" Amber asked.
She was currently packing their bags so she could get on the road, the following morning.
"Mmm no, I wanna fly out to see Tray."
Amber eyed her friend "You booked the tickets yet?"
"Mmm no, I'm tryna see if he'll piss me off before I do."
Amber just let out a laugh and decided to leave her friend alone.
"Ouu you never finished telling me how last weekend was wit Knowledge." Sky said.
"Mecca had a lot of fun, and we went to the fair." Amber shrugged.
Sky stared her down before bursting into laughter.
"Y'all fucked huh?"
Amber shifted as she folded Mecca's socks.
"Language.. and I already told you no."
"Man yes y'all did." Sky cheesed. "I'm already knowing."

Amber stayed quiet.
"Sooo how was it?" She asked with a smirk.
Amber shook her head.
"Okayyy bookie."
FaceTime w/ Knowledge
"Yea pretty girl?" Knowledge smiled as Mecca babbled on.
Amber held the phone up for her as she played around in her bubble bath.
"You ready to get out?" Amber asked, to which Mecca nodded.
Amber rested the phone down then grabbed Mecca's hooded towel.
"How was your day?" She heard causing her to remember Knowledge was on the phone.
"It was good." She told him.
"What y'all doing tomorrow?" Knowledge asked.
"In the morning imma drive to Savannah."
Knowledge nodded as Amber walked into her room with Mecca.
"Do you mind taking her to my parents too?" He asked.
Amber propped up the phone as she began putting lotion on the child's body.
"Mhm, I already called your mom. She'll spend the night with them and I'm prolly gonna hang wit my mom."
Knowledge scrunched up his face "Yo mom?"
"Yea." She smiled.
"Oh ight, thank you tho."
"Knowledge they her grandparents too, that's nothing to thank me about." She said waving him off.
He smiled and nodded "But still thank you."
"Mhm... how was your day?"
"It was straight, I did an interview then chilled for the rest of the day." He told her.
"That's good, Mecca had her first day of daycare! I don't know if you saw the pictures I sent." Amber said to him.
She watched as his face fell a little.
"Yea, I saw 'em. You should've told me."
"I'm sorry..." she apologized, sensing the mood change.
He scoffed causing her to look over at Mecca who was trying to put the lotion bottle in her mouth.
"Put it down." She said to the child before refocusing on Knowledge.
"Knowledge, I really am sorry I didn't think to-"
"That's the problem you don't- Amber, I'm her daddy. I wanna be apart of everything too." he said scrunching up his face.

"I know, but you're in Memphis and..."
Knowledge just looked at her as if she were dumb.
"You don't know my schedule Amber, so ion need you to make them type of decisions for me. I'm just saying the least you could've did was tell me."
Amber was fed up with apologizing and being reprimanded by him.
"Well I didn't Knowledge, and I told you that I am sorry. But it's literally daycare.. you getting mad at me about her basically going to a babysitter. It's not the first day of school." She snapped.
Knowledge shook his head "You missing my point."
"Yea I clearly am."
She looked at the time then back at the FaceTime camera.
"It's getting late Knowledge, and I want to get on the road early. So me and Mecca need to get in bed."
She heard him let out a breath before he spoke.
"Ight, be safe."

"Hi guys." Ariele smiled as she opened the front door for Amber and Mecca.
Mecca immediately smiled at the older version of her mom.
"Gram," she said as she reached for Ariele.
"Hi baby." Ariele cheesed wider as she kissed Mecca's cheek.
"Hey mom." Amber said as she set their bag by the door.
"Amberrrr," she heard before a little boy came running to her and eventually hugged her leg.
"Hi baby." Amber smiled as she picked up her little brother, CJ.
Mecca mugged the two before she buried her head in Ariele's chest.
Amber let out a laugh as she carried CJ further into the house.
"You not gon speak?" She heard.
Amber turned to see Chris sitting in the living room, and playfully rolled her eyes.
"Hello Christopher."
"Hello Amber." He smiled, mocking her tone.
The two had a sit down, after Amber started to rekindle the relationship with her mom, and they found out that they were basically besties.
"Holon is that Mecccaaa?" Chris asked as Ariele entered the room with her.
Mecca bursted into a fit of laughter, and immediately wiggled out of her grandmother's arms.
Amber smiled as she watched Mecca run to him.
This time, it was CJ's turn to mug.
"Y'all so ridiculous." Amber rolled her eyes, and sat down on the couch.
"How was the drive?" Chris asked.
Amber shrugged "It was cool, Mecca slept for a good bit."
"Hmm.. how's Knowledge?" Ariele slickly asked.
Amber let out a breath before responding.
"I think he's a little mad at me." she huffed.
She hated how she kept messing up with him, she never thought things through until it was too late.
"What happened?" Ariele asked as she sat down.
Amber watched as Chris grabbed CJ from her lap and carried Mecca away.
"I.. didn't tell him about Mecca's first day at daycare, I just sent him pictures after the fact, and I see where he's coming from but I honestly don't think it's as big a deal as he's making it."
Ariele nodded "It may not have been.. if you didn't keep her from him for so long Amber, and you know that."
"But-"
Amber started but Ariele cut her off.
"A lot of things that you see as not a big deal are to him because he's tryna get that time he lost back as much as he can, Amb."
Amber huffed, knowing her mom was right.
"Imma go call him."
Ariele nodded and sat back on the couch.
on the phone w/ Knowledge.
"Hello." Knowledge answered before propping his phone up.
Amber stared at him as he drove before finally speaking.
"I- I apologize for... for being insensitive Knowledge."
Knowledge nodded.
"Ight, that's all?"
Amber looked at the phone then scrunched up her face.
"Okay Knowledge."
"Where Mecca?" He asked ignoring her.
"With Chris, holon."
She walked into the next room with her phone to see CJ and Mecca playing 2K.
"Mecca, your daddy on the phone."
Mecca's face lit up before she practically threw the controller at Chris.
"Hey pretty girl.." Knowledge smiled.
Amber watched as Mecca "spoke" to him and walked away.

The Shadow Paradigm - Book 1: Project Orb Weaver
Gardening, cooking, innovation, preservation, charity events... Madzistrale, Tom and Gabzryel does it all. But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Although both groups are aiming to make humanity stand stronger, their ideals and methods could not be further apart. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple
