《Pure Heart {EJ x Reader}》Chapter 30: It's Not What it Looks Like!

I knew who this was and didn't ignore my instincts to help him, I knew it was wrong to help a killer but I fell in love with one so....What's the difference? I knelt down beside his unconscious body, he was bleeding out and I had to work fast or he'd die. Getting up from my position, I ran over to the hallway closet that held some medical supplies I left behind. Looking through, I finally found a little kit on the top shelf, blowing dust off it before running back over to Blades. I worked fast but carefully as to not disturb him in anyway, he growled in his sleep when I pressed on his wound. After taking his shirt off, I ripped my shirt because I couldn't find any wrapping so I used my shirt instead. "Hold on, I need to find some cleaner." Getting up, I ran into the bathroom where there was some disinfectant in the mirror cabinet. Now I just had to clean it and wrap the cloth around it, once sitting back down on the ground beside him, I poured the liquid on the wound. He snapped his eyes open and yelled in pain, I rolled my eyes.
"Consider it payback for almost killing me, you asshole." I scoffed when he glared at me, I should be the one glaring at HIM. I commanded him to sit up which he did reluctantly, once up, I wrapped the shirt around his waist tightly. He winced when I tied the cloth tightly, Blades hissed again before speaking. "Fuckin' hell, not so tight woman!" I huffed this time, getting up from the ground and putting the things on the kitchen counter, turning to him. "Don't even, you came to me with wounds. I should have ignored you and kicked your sorry ass out of this cabin but I care about your well-being even though I hate you." Blades huffed, turning away from me and getting up. He walked over to the living room, jumping on the couch which he immediately regretted when he hissed in pain. "DON'T DO THAT!" I yelled at him, making him look over at me.

"Be quiet woman-" I cut him off by smacking him, hard. His head snapped to the side, looking away with his bangs in his eyes. A red hand mark was growing on his pale cheeks, I immediately grew guilty as it swelled. "I'm sor-" I was cut off when he pounced towards me like lightening, I gasped when landing on the ground. I hit my head on the coffee table which caused my forehead to cut open, it started bleeding after a couple seconds. I looked up dazed, Blades eyes were Beatty red with a furious expression. He was on top of me, holding down my wrists with a tight grip. His face was close to mine, body holding me down. Right when he was about to do something, the front door opened. A very confused and angry Jack standing in the doorway, I smiled at him awkwardly. "Heyyy Jack, how are you?"
"What the fu-"
"So, it was a mistake?" Jack sat beside me, rubbing my head softly as he watched me nod. I had explained what happened before he killed Blades, he still got a good punch in the face but was spared death. Leaning into Jack's touch, he stifled a laugh as he watched me. "Ew, I'm a fucking third wheel now." Blades was on the other side of the living room, watching us with a disgusted face. I rolled my eyes while Jack growled, wrapping an arm around me making me blush lightly. It had just hit me that we hadn't seen each other in over a year, his touch brought my body into a calm state. I snuggled up to him, causing him to tilt his head down at me in surprise. I smiled, closing my eyes as I wrapped my arms around his waist. "I missed you, it's been a while hasn't it?" I finally looked up at him, his mask looked back at me. "You have no idea." He chuckled, feelings of love filled my soul.
"Ugh, I can't take this lovey dovey stuff. I'm going, hope you have a great time getting laid." Blades words caused me to blush a deep red, laid? I'm not a scandal! I looked up at him, he started walking to the door but before he could open the door, I got up and held his shoulder. I gave him a look, he knew what I was trying to say, he sighed. "I'm fine, I'll just go back to the mansion and see nurse Ann. Now get away from me," His works didn't seem as violent as they did before. I reluctantly let go of his shoulder with a sigh, letting him go out the door, leaving me with Jack. I watched the door a little longer before turning around to look at Jack, he was already looking in my direction. My smile widened, seeing him made my heart hurt and feel good at the same time. He was so god damn cute looking at me, his body was relaxed as he watched me.

"Love yah, (Y/n)." Jack's voice broke our silence, my heart stopped for a second before starting up again quicker this time. He sounded so sincere when he said it, nothing could make me happier. A feeling of something wet falling from my face broke my thoughts, the tears fell from my eyes fast like water from a faucet. Jack got up slowly as I wiped away the tears, he walked over to my crying mess of a person. His arms instantly went up to my face, grabbing my face in his hands. I sobbed at his touch, slowly he brought his hand up to his mask, taking it off slowly. He didn't look much different besides his hair was longer and bags under his eyes, his emotionless voids watched me. A tingling sensation went down my spine, making me shiver. "Don't cry, I'm here." He smiled at me, bringing our heads together until our foreheads touched. I stopped sobbing and just jumped up into his arms, knocking our heads together by accident. I whispered an apology into his ear before barring my head into the croak of his neck, feeling his skin against mine. His hands went around my back tightly, he bared his head into my neck as well.
"Love you too." My voice vibrantly against his neck, he shivered at the sensation. We stayed like that for what seemed like forever before he picked me up and started walking towards a room, I didn't care where as long as he was with me. On our way over to the room, I just noticed that we are the most cheesiest people to ever live, we were so cheesy I could almost smell it in the air. I giggled at myself for just realizing it, we were so dumb it hurt to think. He suddenly set me down on a bed, we were in his room. I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks when he took off his black hoodie, a grey shirt underneath caused me to calm down. He smiled at me mischievously, my eyebrow raised but only for a second before I yelped in surprise. Jack had jumped at me, smiling like a goofball when he saw me giving him a pouting face from under him. " Get off, you gained weight over the year!" He scoffed before letting himself fall completely on top of me, I gasped, trying to hold back a laugh. I felt my heart beat out of my chest and my face heat up when I felt him kiss my neck lightly, I began to panic.
"(Y/n)." Jack's voice broke my focus, his body rose up slowly. Our faces were inches apart now, my blush didn't leave. His black voids watched me closely, I had always wondered how he could see or if he even could. Jack leaned down further until his lips were set upon mine, grazing over mine with longing. I leaned up and kissed back, feelings of happiness once again fill my being. It was like a missing piece to a puzzle, I had lost it and couldn't find it. I spent so much time ignoring the piece that it somehow found me instead, it was a perfect fit.
Things felt right again, he was mine and I was his. My sweet kidney eating killer.

Age of Regression
[Author's Thoughts] Dropped, obviously. Still, it's my first attempt at a novel and I do love what I did with it. Big step towards learning. Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.

Author's note:This is an old version that has been completely dropped in favor of a new and better version. I have learned a lot from written this instance, but I believe the work has been subpar and I can do much better with the story and the premise I have devised. I will be posting the new version on a different page.
