I invariably learn some stuff after writing a bunch, finding what works and what doesn't. I definately need to work on paceing and dialouge and flow. This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.

The Warrior on the Bridge
This is a story about the Warrior who was ordered to guard the kingdom's one and only bridge. The kingdom is surrounded by mountains so that bridge is the only way you get inside the kingdom. The mountains magically prevents flying monsters and dragon riders from flying over it which was a blessing to the kingdom. The kingdom was impregnable but one day... The king went out on a campaign. He took everyone except the Warrior on the Bridge. The king never came back. A lot of people and monsters came to attack the kingdom but the Warrior stood firm for years. Will he still be able to guard the bridge on his own? Or can he accept the help of others to protect his beloved kingdom?
