《Future Dynasty》Lecture Thirty

"Looks like Luca is already here." Dad remarked so causally you would've thought he was talking about the weather.

Following dads gaze I locked onto the car that had caught his attention. If I was anyone else I would've thought it was one of ours. It looked custom made, almost like the ones mom would create.

"He has some balls showing his face at the school." Normally I would've thrown my helmet into dads car so that I didn't had to lug it around but something told me I was going to want to keep it close to me tonight.

"Trust me Luca will push every boundary he can find. He's lost everything he's not got many options left. His men will think by coming here Luca has got the situation under control when really he's lost all sense of what he once had."

"So what is this then?" I asked seeing the car of every important person my parents Empire. As I looked around I could see moms, Zane's, Damon's and even Zoe's car. There was more than that in fact if I was to guess everyone was here. "A show of power?"

"Precisely." Remarked dad as he closed his car door looking around at what I had just spotted myself. "We have his kids, he has no other move but reveal himself."

My head snapped around to dad as he fixed the sleeves of his black shirt. The two of his started to walk towards the field were crowds of people could be heard cheering.

"Where is Isabelle and Enzo?" I asked looking around making sure that no one could overhear us.

"Anarchy." Dad simply and frankly I should've guessed that but it made it to obvious to the world. If Luca really wanted to he could try and get them back himself.

Then again he would probably be walking into a trap. There was no way mom or dad would keep them there without some sort of plan. It was almost like they were daring him to try and take them back.

"I'm sure Enzo isn't to happy about that." Thinking back at Enzo and how neat and tidy he seemed to keep everything around him. He didn't seem like the type of person that would take to well to being trapped.

"Enzo isn't the dangerous one out of those two." Dad looked at me from the corner of his eye as he put on of his hands in his pocket.

"Isabella is more of a threat?" There was doubt in my voice but then I thought about it. The way she was so easily able to sneak around our home, if it wasn't for the fact my mom was who she was I fear that Isabella would've been about to do a hell of a lot more than just spy on us.

She was the one that was hidden in the shadows doing the dirty work for her brother.

"Is it really that surprising?" Chuckled my dad with some sort of admiration in his tone. "Trust me I know first hand what it's like to have someone like Isabella to have your back."

He was talking about mom.

"Enzo doesn't fight his own battles." I remarked thinking about to the time he had his men take me on without lifting a finger himself.

He wasn't a fighter.

Just like his father.

"Which is going to be his own downfall and even his own sister knows it. Which is probably why she takes things into her own hands."

Dad rounded the corner to the bleachers and everyone seemed to stop what they were doing to take in his presence. Dad didn't seem to notice as he made his way through the crowd that parted for him with ease. Some people greeted him with a nod of the head or a shake of the hand. I took it all in watching his movements carefully.

If I wanted to be in this world I had to learn how to treat our people.

Most of the people here worked for my dad or mom in some shape or form. These families were all connected to mine in some way and that type of power wasn't something you could buy.

Finally we made it to our family who stood right in the middle of the whole commotion. Emilia greeted my excitedly as she pointed down at the field at our brother.

"Levi is right there!"

Levi was getting ready for another play, barking out orders to the players around him. Ever since River left he had taken over as captain of the football team and he seemed to have to taken that role in his stride.

My eyes looked down at River who was standing in the row in front of us with his own family. For a moment I wondered if he missed being out on the field with them.

Turning my attention back to my sister I looked her over with a wide grin on her face. She didn't look like someone who had just been kidnapped a mere few hours ago.

"You look fine." I whispered in her ear making sure that no one else could hear. Emilia always told me the truth and this was something I needed to know myself.

I needed to know that she was ok.

"I'm fine." She took my hand in hers and gave me a wide smile as she squeezed my hand. "I swear I'm fine, I know the risks in our life Layla. Of course I'm not completely over it but I'm not scared for life I promise."

Staring at her for a moment I took in her appearance I could tell Tia had told me the truth when she said that Emilia hadn't been harmed. In fact out of the two of us I had definitely came out on the other side worse and I wasn't the only one who had noticed this.

"What happened to your face?" I grabbed her hand before she was able to touch the bruises that were forming around my face at this point. "I hadn't noticed them earlier."

There wasn't time to notice each other's injuries earlier.

"I'm fine." From the corner of my eye I seen River turn his head slightly, he didn't hide that I was listen to mine and Emilia's conversation. "I swear I'm fine, I'll just be sore for a few days."

Emilia looked worried but she knew when to drop something and thankfully this was one of those times.

As the game went on I forgot about why I was really here with my family. We cheered on Levi and the team with every breath and I could tell that the support from us all really pushed the boys on. In the end they completely dominated that game, without giving any of us an inch of doubt that they would lose.

At the end some people started to filter out of the place most of them just average families that didn't have anything to do with our world. In the end the majority were still left behind but the atmosphere started to take a different turn.

"I'll be back in a second." Dad said to me before turning to kiss mom on the check before making his way down the bleachers.

Watching him he came to stop behind Levi as he gave a large pat on his back making Levi turn around with a grin on his face. Dad and Levi talked in turns probably exchanging words about the game and dad said something to Levi that made him have the biggest grin on his face.

There was no doubt in my mind that dad had just told him that he was proud of him.

For a moment I had let myself think about the fact at how different half of us siblings were from the other half. Levi and Emilia living normal high school lives while me and Reagan were following completely different paths. Yet our parents were accepting of it all, they never questioned who we were or what we wanted. They let us discover ourselves what it was that we wanted.

"Don't think it will take much convincing for Levi to get into the NFL in a few years."

Mom scoffed at my comment and I could see that she was thinking back about something. "He takes after your uncle Hayden, maybe less off the air of superiority but definitely takes after him."

"I'm going to tell our uncle that you called him big headed."

Mom laughed and shrugged her shoulders. "Tell him all you want because if you don't I will."

"We have company." Zoe made her way over to us pointing down at the gates to the left of the field, there stood Luca."

I had never seen him up close and personal but after studying dads files and that file that Reagan had given to me I knew all to well what he looked like at this point. He was standing with about ten of his men with an air of indifference but it didn't take a genius to know that he wasn't as comfortable about the situation as he let on.

After he was surround by some of the most important families in this City and all of them worked for my parents.

Dad must have spotted him at the same time as we did because he stood a little straighter as he looked over at Luca's direction. His hand was rested on the back of Levi's neck who seemed to have noticed what had caught our dads attention as well.

With one word to my brother Levi started to make his way up the steps towards us. The rest of the boys following his lead. Dad was left down in front of the bleachers on his own in a wide open area. I went to move to be beside him but mom's grip stopped me in my tracks.

"Just watch." Whispered mom, the corner of her lips tipped upwards in amusement.

"But dads by himself." There wasn't any panic in my voice as I spoke because I knew it wasn't true. So long as mom was by dads side he would never be alone down there.

"Your dad is never alone." There was something deeper in the words that she had spoken than she had first let on.

Frowning I started to think about her words and then slowly without drawing to much attention I started to look around the field. Above the bleachers where there was a cover against the elements I seen a reflection. After a few more seconds I came to realise what it was.

A gun.

Someone was on the roof with a gun and they weren't the only one but that wasn't the most shocking thing.

They weren't our men.

They were wearing F.B.I bulletproof vests.

"Act natural." Moms words rang through my ears as I looked at her. She didn't looked one bit surprised at any of this.

In fact she looked smug. Almost like she had made a move that was about to be impossible for Luca to get out off.

"Hello, Luca." Greeted my dad, his voice rang through out the whole field. The confidence in his tone was one that I could only dream to match.

"Riker." Greeted Luca but it wasn't as warm as my dads greeting, in fact there was a sense of loathing in it and I could understand why.

My family had him at every turn and my parents were ripping his world apart one brick at a time.

"Did you block the camera's?" Asked mom in a low tone and I turned my head to see that she was talking to Zoe.

"Everything, all the cameras around the area including blocking the F.B.I's and any little tricks they tried to play but there is something you should know ."

"What?" Asked Mom as she glanced between Zoe and my dad. It was like she didn't want to take her eyes off him for too long.

"The F.B.I aren't here under Davis' orders. In fact I don't even think he knows they're here. They had no active cameras switched on and they have no other tricks up their sleeves."

Mom frowned as she looked at Zoe. "Your sure?"

"Positive." Remarked Zoe with confidence. Mom never doubted Zoe and she wasn't about to start now.

This wasn't Davis' doing.

This was Daniella's.

"This is Daniella's doing." My voice was low but mom had caught my words loud and clear. "Remember when you asked me for a distraction to keep Davis away? Well I might have went to Daniella."

Mom raised her eyebrow at me. "You mean to the one person I told you not to fuck around with?"

Mom didn't look all that surprised though.

"Here she was more than happy to help." I said in my defence with raised hands.

"I'm sure." Laughed mom like she knew something more than I did. "Wait till your brother finds out about this."

"I'm kind of planning on it."

Daniella had taken this situation on herself to make sure Davis stayed out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if she had been waiting all week for this shit to go down after I had talked to her. She was keeping Davis at an arms length and in turn she was making it easier for my parents to win this war.

"Where's my kids, Riker?" There was a lethal tone in Luca's voice as he came to stand face to face with my dad. His men were standing behind him as my father stood on the field by himself.

He wasn't alone though, he hands hundreds of us standing in the bleachers and Luca's knew. I could see how he looked here from the corner of his eyes every now and again.

He was looking at one person in particular though.

He was watching my mom.

Luca's knew all to well who the two most dangerous people in the world were and now he was at my parents mercy.

"Funny I remember asking you the same thing twenty years ago." There was something dangerous in my dads tone. Something only the pain of a parent would fully understand.

Mom started to make her way down the bleachers and with one of her shoulder she told me all she needed to tell me.

"Stay here." I whispered to Emilia as I left her with our brother.

Following mom down the steps I tried to copy her movements. Confidence flowed through my bones when in reality my heart wanted to burst out of my chest.

Looking over my shoulder my eyes looked onto River who was standing beside his dad and Ezra. With one nod of his head he told me all I needed to know.

He had my back no matter what went down.

"Where are they Riker?" There was desperation in Luca's voice now and for a second I could feel that pain. I remembered what it was like when he had took Emilia from me, she might be my sister but it was the same time of pain.

But he was the reason for that pain in the first place and he didn't deserve my sympathy.

"Safe." Responded mom as she came to stand beside my dad. Dads hand rested on the small of her back, almost like he was reassuring her that he was there. "Probably safer with us than they are with you anyway."

"Give me them." Mom tilted her head as Luca went to take another step forward but he stopped in his tracks.

"You know I talked to them before I came here." That one sentence had the power to almost make Luca stop breathing. "More importantly I talked to Isabella. Smart girl by the way, very smart."

"What did you do." Luca all but growled out but mom clicked her tongue like she was getting ready to scold a little child.

"I didn't have to do anything." Slowly mom took something out of her pocket and held it up for Luca to see clear as day.

It was a memory stick.

"What's that?"

"Your downfall frankly." Mom said casually like she didn't hold this man's world at her fingertips. "I got a bit bored taking down your little business in Italy, so I went bigger."

"What are you talking about?"

"I got bored, so I took everything." Moms eyes snapped back to Luca who looked like his whole world had just come crashing down around him. "The best part is, that it was your daughter who did it for me."

"You're lying." Growled out Luca.

"I think we both know I'm not." I've never seen my mom look so smug.

Thinking back I realised that maybe Isabella wasn't at our house to spy on us at all that day she was at our home.

She was there to see my mom.

That's why she stalled on top of those containers at the port. She never wanted to fight against us because she was working with my mom all this time.

Mom let out a loud sigh and threw her head up looking at the sky above us. I knew that look all to well.

Mom had grown bored of the situation once again. She had won this game that she had been playing with Luca all this time. Her aim was never to kill him, she wanted revenge for what he had done to her family all those years ago and she has ripped everything away from him.

Including turning one of his own children again him.

"Ok boys, you can give it up now." Mom looked at the men that were standing behind Luca with that same bored look. "I think Luca gets the hint."

With that the men who had been standing behind Luca turned there backs on him and stood behind us. I looked over my shoulder at them and not one of them looked like they regretted their choice.

In fact they looked relieved at the situation. Clearly what ever type of boss Luca was he wasn't anything like my parents.

"I don't know about you Riker, but I think it was about time you took control of Italy anyway."

Dad rolled his eyes at mom's statement and the grin never left his face.

"You just gave me more work to do." Remarked my dad like they were talking about a new business deal.

"Well you have to keep up with my success some how." Grinned mom as dad threw his arm over her shoulders.

Luca pulled out his gun and aimed it at mom but she didn't even flinch as a shot was heard. It wasn't mom you cried out in pain though, it was Luca as he dropped his gun in pain. Holding his right wrist in pain as he looked up at where the F.B.I were hiding.

"You have to be joking me." Growled out Luca in pain. "You have the F.B.I in your pocket?"

"Of course not." Scoffed Mom as the F.B.I ran towards us. "We're just a normally multi-billion dollar family."

"You fucking bitch."

"Like I haven't heard that one before. Make sure to say high to my uncle while your locked up for life." Waved off mom as Luca was grabbed from behind hissing in pain as they put the handcuffs on him.

It was Daniella who came to stand in front of us and mom threw the memory pen towards her. Daniella caught it easy as she looked down at it.

"Everything you need to lock him away is on that."

Daniella looked up from the item in her hands before looking behind mom at where Luca's former men stood.

"What about them?"

"I have no idea what you mean?" Remarked Mom with a sweet smile on her face. "These are friends of ours."

"Rightttt" trailed off Daniella like she didn't believe a word of it. Known of us did but no one was going to admit to that. "So I'm meant to just believe Luca Giudice did this all on his own."

"Of course not." Agreed mom with a smile. "But I don't know anyone else, unless you do?"

Daniella let out an unbelievable laugh at moms statement. "You never change Mrs Kennedy."

"Please Danny, call me Lyra." Mom sent a wink Daniella's way like they shared a secret that only the two of them would understand.
