《Rain✔️ (Wattpad version)》'Tis the season, part 2

I finished what I had to do and made two stops before heading home. Christmas is in two days, and I was lucky I could get done what I got done in the time frame I had.
I hope they like it.
We spent Christmas Eve with family. Mom and Dad said they wanted one day for the family and reserved Christmas Eve for that. I sent Wade a text and got no response. I sent a couple more and the same thing. Damn, I wonder what he was doing?
After spending Christmas Eve at my grandparents, we came home, and I checked my phone, nothing. Usually, he responds, but nothing. Maybe he was busy with family stuff. I know he said he would stop by tomorrow to deliver cookies. Perhaps I can find out then.
Christmas Day arrived, and Rain was excited. She opened gifts, but I waited for the special one. I picked her up something until I could show her. I handed her the present, and she opened it to find a special edition, My Little Ponies.
"Oh, my god! Thank you, Cole," she exclaimed. She hugged me, and I hissed. Shit, I forgot. She looked at me questionably, and I just told her I was okay. I couldn't ruin the surprise.
After everyone opened gifts, there was a knock at the door. Luke answered it, and Antonio and Adrian came in. They came to see Rain. I waited and waited. Then I called Wade.
"Hey, Wade, it's me. I called, but you're probably busy. I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas. Call me."
I hung up.
I stood there watching the snowfall, as Dad came into the kitchen.
"Cole?"
"Yeah," I said as I looked outside.
"You okay?" He asked me.
"Yeah," I answered.
"Okay," he said as he walked back into the living room.
Eventually, I went back into the living room. Since I knew Antonio and Adrian were his best friends, I walked over to the tree, picked up a gift, and handed it to them, "Can you give this to Wade? He's not answering my calls."
Adrian took the gift from me. I walked over, grabbed my coat, put it on, and opened the door.

"Cole? Where are you going?" Rain asked me, confused.
"I'm getting coffee. I'll be back later," I explained to Rain. She looked at me, worried, and I placed a kiss on her forehead before leaving. I just wanted to be alone.
I didn't understand. Christmas is to be happy, but Cole was sad. I looked at my family, along with Antonio and Adrian. "I don't understand. If Christmas is to be happy, then why is Cole upset?"
"I think it has something to do with Wade, honey," Mom answered.
I walked over to Antonio and Adrian. "What's wrong with Wade?"
They looked at each other, then at me.
"What's wrong and don't say nothing because I know that's a lie?" I told them emphatically.
"Wade doesn't think Cole has time for him," Antonio told me.
"That's not true, Cole loves Wade," I told them with concern as they looked at me, stunned.
"What do you mean, he loves him?" Adrian asked me.
"He loves him. What part don't you understand?"
"Rain, I don't think Wade knows that," Antonio said to me.
"Then someone needs to tell him. How can he not see that Cole loves him?" I looked at them.
"Well, uh," Antonio said, not knowing what to say.
"Rain, how do you know Cole loves Wade?" Dad asked me.
I looked at him, "Because Cole bought him a collector's edition of My Little Pony. He said Wade collects them, and he got a call the other night. He had to pick them up before the place closed. That's what Adrian is holding," I told him.
Their faces dropped.
"Isn't that what you do for someone you love is find something they like? Or was I mistaken? Nope, I'm sure of it," I shrugged.
Then Antonio and Adrian took off out of my house. The next thing I knew, Antonio came back, kissed me. "I'll be back." Then he left.
I just went back to my ponies.
Every time Cole texted me, I just ignored it. Then he called and left a message. I scoffed at it. Yeah, okay, he can't give me one day but wants to talk, pft, whatever.
I got my boxes to deliver when I heard a knock at the door. I sat them down and answered the door. Antonio and Adrian walked in, and Adrian shoved a gift to me.

"You shouldn't have," I said, looking at him weirdly.
"I didn't, doof. That's from Cole," Adrian said to me.
I looked at them strangely, then looked at the tag, Merry Christmas, baby. Love Cole.
I tore off the paper and opened the box. Then my eyes widened. I pulled out the box set of the first edition, My Little Ponies, which is rare.
I held them in my hand as I looked at them.
"He's at the coffee shop," Adrian said as I nodded. I grabbed my coat and left.
I made it to the coffee shop and saw him through the window. I walked over to his table.
"Nice that you respond to me," he said, not looking at me.
I set the box set down on the table. Cole looked at me as I took a seat. I looked at him as he looked at me.
"I didn't know," I said, not knowing what to say.
"It's what you do when you love someone, but that's not enough," he said, his voice laced with hurt.
"I'm sorry. I just felt like you didn't want to spend time with me. I felt like I was unwanted," I said as my voice cracked.
"I had to go pick up your gift and get something for Rain. I figure I would kill two birds with one stone. Wade, I've always been direct with you, why question me now?" Cole asked me.
"Because I'm just afraid you will find someone else," I said, turning away. I wiped my face. God, I didn't want him to see me cry.
"Now, why would I do that?" He asked.
"Because this is my first relationship," I whispered.
"Yeah, and we're bound to make mistakes. It makes us human. What else?" Cole questioned me.
I couldn't look at him and confessed, "Because I'm in love with you."
I stared at the table, running my thumb across it when he reached for my hand. I lifted my head and looked at him.
"Best present ever," he smiled.
"What?" I looked at him, confused.
"I knew you felt that way, but I was waiting for you to say it. It was on Christmas," he said with a look.
Well, damn.
"I'm in love with you, too," he said. I couldn't resist. I leaned over the table and pulled him into a kiss. He hissed as I did so, and I pulled away. "What?"
He gave me a look. Well, shit.
Now that Wade's insecurity got the best of him and we straightened things out, we went back to my house. I wanted to give Rain her special gift finally.
We walked in, and everyone was there. I walked over and took Rain's hand. I led her by the Christmas tree.
"I wanted to do something special for you, and I know you would understand," I said to her.
"What is it?" She asked me curiously.
I removed my coat, handing it to Wade. Then I removed my shirt. I turned around, and on my left shoulder blade was her gift.
She looked at it, stunned.
"You got me my very own My Little Pony?" She asked.
I turned my head. "Yep," I answered.
I put on my left shoulder blade, My Little Pony, with the cutie mark of rainbows. Underneath, I had her name inked. I know there was Rainbow Dash, but this one was different. It was white with a dark mane and three rainbows on it.
"That's why I hissed when you hugged me. You touched it," I chuckled as Rain smiled.
"I love it. Thank you, Cole," she said sincerely.
"Anytime, Rainbow Dash," I smiled. She grinned. I was the only one that ever called her that.
Wade handed her a box. "Sorry, I'm late. These are for you."
She opened the box and inside were My Little Pony shape cookies, all decorated with each pony.
"These are awesome," she exclaimed.
"It took me some time, but I could get them all decorated for you," he grinned.
"Thanks, Wade!" She gave him a big hug. Great, my boyfriend upstages me, figures. Next time, I'll give her cookies.
I pulled my shirt back on, and we finished celebrating Christmas. It was the best Christmas ever.
