《Pokémon Sun & Moon: Emethyst's Journey》There is Life ❤️

We were now back at my dad's. I sat on my bed with Mimikyu sitting by my side. Froslass was resting in the corner, and I was letting Gengar get some well needed rest inside of his Pokeball. Ash sat on the couch across from me. Pikachu and Rockruff were playing on the floor. I don't know what my dad was doing, but I didn't really care at the moment.
I couldn't take my eyes of off my newly obtained Z Ring. I still couldn't believe I was wearing it. The sun shining from the above window made the purple color shine, along with the purple Ghostium Z.
I heard Ash chuckle. "Hard to believe you're wearing it, huh?" He said.
I looked up at his familiar brown eyes, and nodded. "Yeah.. it's crazy. I never dreamed this would be my life two months ago.." I said, as I looked off to the side.
"I know what you mean," Ash said. "I could hardly believe it either when I was given my Z ring by Tapu Koko." He added. "It all started when I was here on vacation with my mom, and I ended up staying here so I could take part in the island challenge!" Ash exclaimed, getting excited with every word.
I giggled at him, for I did enjoy his positive energy. "That's cool." I said. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and unlocked it. I went to go do something, but I forgot what I was going to do in that moment. My phone must have been in view, because he asked me a question I wasn't expecting.
"Oh, is that your mom?" He asked.
I looked back up at his brown eyes, and felt kind of sad now. He did ask about what happened to her, and I knew I would have to tell him. Besides, I was confident I could talk about her without crying. "Yeah." I said, as I nodded. I allowed a small smile to keep the sad feeling from coming on.
Ash sat down on my bed to the right of me. "Wow, really? She's very pretty. Professor has good taste!" He exclaimed happily. "Where she is now?" He asked.
I looked over at him, and took a deep breath. "Yeah, she was." I said, as I nodded again. I hoped that answered his question without going into detail. Did he not remember the conversation earlier at Kahuna Hala's?
Ash's smile quickly faded. I could see in his face that he now understood. "Oh..." He said, kind of hushed now. "I'm really sorry, Emethyst. I had no idea." He apologized.
I shrugged, and allowed a small smile. "It's okay." I said. "I'm getting stronger every single day. Before, I couldn't even hold a conversation about her without crying." I said, truthfully. Had we had this conversation when I came here a week and some change ago; I would no doubt be in full tears right now.

Ash still looked at me, sadly. "Man, still." He said. "That must have been awful. I'm really sorry, Emethyst. I kind of wish I would have known sooner." He added.
"I'm actually surprised my dad didn't tell you." I said, truthfully.
"Well, he told me you were gonna come live with him and that was it. He didn't say anything else." Ash explained, sadness in his voice.
I exhaled loudly. "Yeah, that sounds about right. He probably didn't want to upset you with the real reason. But, no worries." I said happily, as I tried to cheer Ash up. I wanted him to see I was okay; Despite everything I had been through.
"Emethyst, I hope this isn't weird," Ash began. "But, is it weird that I see you as kind of like my big sister?" He said, finally.
I laughed at that. "Not at all," I said. "I see you as the annoying little brother I was never given." I laughed again, and shoved him a bit. I actually enjoyed Ash's company; Even though he could be a bit annoying from time to time.
This made Ash perk up a bit; Which made me happy. "Ha-ha-ha, Very funny." He smiled, and said sarcastically. He shoved me back.
Suddenly, I was interrupted by footsteps climbing the loft. I assumed it was none other than my dad; which I knew I was right. His familiar white hat with the rainbow on it and green framed eyes came into view. "What are you two doing up here?" He asked, as he walked over to us.
"Talking." I said simply.
Ash turned his attention to my dad. "Hey, Professor? Is it okay if I call my mom?" He asked.
My dad made a weird face and raised his eyebrow at Ash. "Um, of course you can." He said, as he was surprised.
Ash didn't waste no time. He practically jumped down the loft, and ran to I don't know where. I felt my eyes widen, as I had never seen that kid move so quick. My dad also gave the same confused expression. He then turned back to me.
"What did you do to him?" He asked, as he looked at me funnily.
I chuckled a little. "I told him about mom." I said, simply.
My dad looked at me amazed. "Wow, and you're not crying?" He said, as he looked down at me.
I looked around sort of confused. Was I supposed to cry every time I talked about her? "I didn't know I wasn't allowed to talk about my mom without crying??" I said, as I felt my eyebrow raise.
My dad looked at me, and chuckled a little. He then looked off to the side a bit. "I think the timing might be right.." He pondered.
"Uh- For what?" I asked, as I was now nervous.
My dad then looked back at me. He took a deep breath. "I think it's time I show you a very special place, Emethyst." He said, as he put his hand out to help me up off of my bed.

My eyes widened a little in fear. I didn't know what it was he wanted to show me. "Um.. okay." I said, as I took his hand. I put my arm out so Mimikyu could climb back onto my left shoulder. I was now a bit nervous; I didn't know what it was he wanted to show me.
*********
My dad and I walked together out in the jungle. I was beginning to get a little impatient, because we had been walking for what felt like forever. Froslass and Gengar stayed behind to rest, and Ash was still talking to his mom when we left. Mimikyu stayed glued to my shoulder.
I trailed behind my dad's labcoated figure like a lost Rockruff. "Are we there yet?" I asked, the annoyance coming out in my voice. I didn't understand what was so far out in the jungle that was so special.
"We're already there." My dad said simply, as he raised a big tree branch out of the way.
I walked under the tree branch, and what I saw made my heart drop into my stomach. My mouth then matched my heart. I walked into a bright, beautiful meadow. However, I've seen this meadow before. The dream I had on my first night here in Alola. The sun shined brightly onto the grass, and the air around me felt warm and welcoming. My eyes then laid on the exact spot I had saw my mom at in my dream. I saw Pokemon of different types playing in the meadow. It was absolutely beautiful.
"Wow." I said, finally. "It's... Real?" I hesitated.
"What do you mean?" My dad asked.
"My first night here... I had a dream about this place. I saw mom.." I said, as my eyes stayed glued to the spot where I remembered seeing her. "Right over there." I pointed at the spot.
I heard my dad take a deep breath. "This is..." He hesitated. "This is where I met her for the first time." He finally said, his voice cracking a little.
My eyes widened at that, and I looked up at him. I felt a smile spread across my face. "Really?" I asked. My heart fluttered at this.
My dad looked down at me, and nodded. "Yes." He said, as he then smiled. He looked up at the clear blue sky. "I was just about your age." He said. He then looked back out into the meadow.
"What were you like?" I asked him.
I saw my dad's eyes widen from the side. "Me?" He said. "Well, let me think.." He said, and paused for a moment. "Actually, I was alot like you." He said, and hugged me tight.
I was absolutely wowed by this. The scenery was completely breathtaking. The golden sun shined beautifully on the grass. A Pokemon then emerged out of the somewhat tall grass. It was a wild Eevee that had flowers on its head. It sat down, and looked up at my dad and I.
"Eevee!" It exclaimed.
I laughed at it. It was so cute with the flowers on its head. The Eevee wagged it's fluffy tail.
"Well, there's something you don't see every day." My dad said, as he looked down at the little wild Eevee.
"Eevee!" The Eevee exclaimed again, and then it turned around and ran back into the tall grass. I giggled a little at it. I wasn't expecting that to happen.
My dad then hugged me again. "Oh, Emethyst. I know you told me not to apologize anymore, but I'm sorry for everything. I should have been in your life from day one." He said, as I could hear his voice crack from behind me.
I turned around to face him. I smiled up at him to show him I was okay. "Dad, it's okay." I said. "You're here now; That's all that matters to me." I added, as I hugged him back.
My dad responded by hugging me tighter. "I love you so much, Emethyst." He said, his voice cracking. I felt a drop of water fall onto my right shoulder.
"I love you so much too, Dad." I said. I then felt Mimikyu wrap her shadow arms around my neck. I felt so loved in that moment. Suddenly, I thought about something. I pulled away from my dad, and reached in my pocket for my phone.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
I unlocked my phone, and clicked my camera icon. "I think it's time for a new screensaver." I said, simply.
My dad looked at my phone weirdly, as if he wasn't expecting me to take a picture of us. But, I wanted to. I knew this would be a way to help me move on from my mom's death. It was time for me to begin my new life in Alola with my dad, and this was the perfect moment to signify that.
I stood on my tiptoes a bit, and held the camera in front of us both. I stuck my tongue out, and so did my dad just a bit. I snapped the photo.
"That's a keeper." I said, as I set it as my background on my phone.
My dad chuckled. "Aw, Emethyst." He said, as he hugged me tight.
I hugged him back. "Aw, Dad." I replied back to be funny.
My dad responded by scratching my hair. I was so happy in that moment. My heart felt whole again, and I was so ready for what Alola would throw at me.
Look out world, here comes Emethyst Kukui.
