《Pokémon Sun & Moon: Emethyst's Journey》Chapter 46

"Kyu! Kyu!"
I was shaken awake by Mimikyu's familiar cries and sobs. I rose up out of bed, to find her not by my chest anymore. I looked around the darkened loft; That was only illuminated by the moonlight, to find her on the floor, crying hysterically. Tears were flowing onto her little rag, making it wet.
"Mimikyu?" I said, groggily. "What's wrong?" I asked her. I sat on the edge of the bed, still partially asleep. I looked across the way to see Ash still sound asleep, as well as all of his Pokemon. Rotom Dex was still out like a light as well.
"Kyu! Kyu!" She sobbed. She still stood in the center of the loft, crying. It was as if she were having a form of nightmare or something. I got up, and looked down at the foot of my bed to still see Gengar and Froslass sound asleep as well. I then walked over to the center of the loft. I gently picked Mimikyu up, and cuddled her as if she were a baby. I then walked back over to my bed, and sat down.
"Mimikyu? Can you hear me?" I asked, quietly. "It's okay, I'm here." I said to her softly, as I rocked her back and forth. I was instantly reminded of that baby project I had to do back when I was twelve. We had to take home an electronic baby for the weekend, and care for it as if we were legit parents. My baby was a pain, because it woke me up crying every three hours or so. My mom made fun of me that whole weekend, telling me that's exactly how I was when I was a baby, and that it was "payback" to watch me suffer just as she had did. But, I can honestly say I'd prefer Mimikyu over that right now.
"Kyu." Mimikyu was still crying, but she was getting quieter now. I continued consoling her as much as possible. However, I was beginning to wake up now. I reached over for my phone, and checked the time. It was nearing 5am.
I looked down at Mimikyu, and saw she was now awake. Her little beady eyes were glistening with tears. She looked straight up at me, the moonlight reflecting off of her eyes.
"You had a nightmare, didn't you?" I asked her softly, as I looked down into her glistening beady eyes. "See? I'm still here." I said, as I cuddled her close to show her. "I told you I would never give up on you, Mimikyu." I said to her. Mimikyu responded by burrowing herself deeper in my arms.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps down below. They were nearing the loft. I rolled my eyes in annoyance when I realized it could only be one person. My dad. I heard his familiar steps climbing up the loft. Ugh. I thought.
"Everything okay up here?" He said kind of groggily, as I saw he wasn't wearing his familiar white hat or green framed glasses. He was in his light pink night shirt and white sleep shorts.
"Yeah, everything's fine," I said. "Mimikyu woke me up crying. I think she had a nightmare." I added, as I continued cuddling her tight. Probably about her shit ex trainer. I thought.
My dad then walked over. "I thought I heard crying. I wanted to make sure it wasn't you." He said, as he sat on my bed side.
I rolled my eyes. "Now, why would I be crying?" I asked. I didn't understand.
My dad shrugged. "I don't know, I just came to check on you to make sure you were okay." He said. I noticed it was beginning to get lighter in the room, meaning the sun was beginning to rise.
I was now wide awake anyway. "Well, I am dad." I said. "I'm probably going to stay up now, anyway." Mimikyu began moving around in my arms happily.
"Eh, I may as well too." My dad said. "We did go to bed earlier than usual." He added. I looked around at everyone else, who were still sound asleep. I don't know how they slept through that crying. I decided I would let Froslass and Gengar sleep, so I could spend a bit more time comforting Mimikyu.
The golden sunrise was now peaking through the window on the ceiling. The golden rays shined down on Mimikyu, making her beige cloth look more golden. Her beady black eyes were also glistening in the golden sunlight. I looked down at her, as I admired her. How could someone pick a Pikachu over this? No offense, Ash. I thought and laughed mentally.
I grabbed my phone, and slipped it into my sweatpants pocket. My dad and I got up from my bed. Walking to the loft steps, I held Mimikyu tight in my right arm. I used my left hand to climb down the loft steps. When I got to the bottom; I walked over to my dad's green couch, and took a seat with Mimikyu in my arms. I then sat her down on my lap.

Mimikyu sat on my lap, and looked around. My dad then came around, and sat down beside me. Mimikyu looked at him. "Kyu?" She said.
I sighed, as my heart sank a little when I looked at her little black eyes. I wish she could see how much she really is loved, and I wish she would just forget that trash trainer that shouldn't be anywhere near a Pokemon.
"What's wrong, Emethyst?" My dad asked.
I sighed once more. "I just wish Mimikyu would forget about her last trainer, and see how loved she really is." I said, as I scratched her face that was underneath the cloth with my nails. "I know the reason why she woke me up was because she had a nightmare about her last trainer." I was a hundred percent sure that's what it was, and I was willing to take bets on it.
"You know, your mom once took in an abandoned Pokemon." My dad mentioned.
I felt my eyes widen and my nose scrunch. She never told me about this. "She did?" I asked. Where was the Pokemon now?
My dad nodded. "She sure did. In fact, she's up there sleeping with Gengar." He smiled, and winked at me.
I felt my mouth drop open, and my eyes widen more. "Wait... Froslass?" I said, in shock. I couldn't believe it. Snorunt was abandoned? No way... I thought. My hand flew to my mouth on impulse.
"What, she never told you?" My dad said, as he raised an eyebrow.
I shook my head. "No. I would have never guessed it either." I was amazed, yet dumbfounded that my mom never told me. But then again, the conversation for it never really rised until now.
My dad nodded in response. "Your mom loved ice type Pokemon, as I'm sure you knew," he said. "But one night, she was on Mount Lanakila on Ula'Ula Island. There was a bad blizzard that night. Your mother woke up and heard a Pokemon's cry, and she was bound and determined to find it. She then found the Snorunt, who she thought had been abandoned by it's trainer. It was sad the way she described it. She said the Snorunt looked to have been in a battle, and looked neglected. So, your mother took her in. They became inseperable after that. It happened before I met her, she told me the story countless times." He said, as he smiled.
I felt a tear fall from my right eye, as I couldn't believe it. This whole time, I had been living with an abandoned Pokemon, and didn't even realize it. My mom never told me. Now my heart was broken for Froslass. When she wakes up, I'm giving her the biggest hug.
My dad then put his hand on my left shoulder. "The reason why I decided to tell you now was because when I saw the way you were with Mimikyu earlier, it reminded me so much of your mother. She used to do the same thing with Snorunt. Though, Snorunt took way longer to trust your mom than it looks like it's taking Mimikyu to trust you." He said.
I then looked down at Mimikyu, and began to wonder something. Almost after the experience with my mother, I found Mimikyu. Could.. could mom have maybe sent Mimikyu to me? I do remember reading that Mimikyu is known as the Disguise Pokemon. My blessing in disguise. I thought.
"You know, I like to think maybe mom sent Mimikyu to me." I said, as I looked down at her beady black eyes. Mimikyu made her baby doll eyes in return at me.
My dad then hugged me tight. "You definitely have the same warm heart your mom did." He said, as I felt his hands rub my back.
I hugged him back. "Well, I couldn't let Mimikyu suffer like that. She needed someone to show her she's loved," I said. I then let go of my dad, and looked into my mirrored eyes. "Just like I did." I said, as I smiled warmly.
My dad's mouth fell open a bit, and then he smiled back at me. He didn't say anything, and just hugged me. "That's my girl." He said, softly.
For a moment, I felt like my little Mimikyu and began to burrow a bit into his arms. I then felt Mimikyu wrap it's shadow like arms around my stomach area. I felt so loved in that moment. I turned my head to the right, still rested upon my dad's chest. Straight ahead in my dad's aquarium, I saw a Luvdisc looking straight at me.
"I love you too, mom..." I thought, as I enjoyed this small heartfelt moment.
