《Pokémon Sun & Moon: Emethyst's Journey》Where are you going, Mimikyu?

I woke up to bleak darkness. The moon was shining bright in the window, illuminating it just a bit. I looked down from my top bunk, and saw Lana and Lillie sound asleep across from me. What woke me up? I reached underneath my pillow and checked the time, for it was 5:30am.
I still had about three hours before I had to wake up, so I rolled over to go back to sleep. That's when I heard something.
"Kyu." I heard a little voice cry. I then heard little sobs. I sat up, and looked around the room. It was quiet. All of the Pokemon were sound asleep, so that eliminated the Pokemon being the source of the noise. I listened below me, and heard Mallow snoring so that also took her out of the equation.
"Kyu!" I then heard again. It sounded like it was coming from outside. I took my phone, and put it in my sweatpants pocket. I got out of bed, and climbed down the ladder. I stepped off lightly, and tiptoed to the window. I looked outside, to see nothing.
"Kyu Kyu!" I heard the cries again. It sounded like it was coming from the woods behind the Pokemon Center. I looked around, and made sure everyone was asleep. Gengar and Froslass were asleep, and I decided not to bother them. I would only be a moment.
I tip-toed out of the bedroom, using the moonlight as my source of light, and opened the door slowly. I stepped out, and closed it back as soft as possible. I took a quiet, deep breath and headed for the door. I slipped my sandals on, and opened the door slowly. I made sure I left it unlocked, so I could get back in.
I closed the door slowly, and tip-toed as quietly as possible. I made sure I was as silent as a Whismur when I passed my dad's room. When I was about a couple of yards away from his bedroom, I made a run for it down the hall. My sandals were making that loud flipping noise every time they hit my foot. My phone was hitting my thigh, with every step I took.
I exited the hallway, and entered the main entrance of the Pokemon Center. I looked around, and saw there was a boy sitting in the waiting area of the Center. He was hugging a Pikachu and smiling. I thought this was kind of weird, considering how late it was. But I didn't question it, some people were early birds.
I walked out of the Pokemon Center, and felt that it had cooled down quite a bit. I shivered a little, as I wished I would have grabbed my Gastly hoodie before I came out here. But, I couldn't go back and risk getting caught. The moon and stars shined brightly in the now velvet colored sky, due to the sun about to rise soon.
"Kyu!! Kyu!!" I heard the sound again. Was it a Pokemon? It was nothing like I had ever heard before. The voice was little, like a baby's. I ran to the woods, and pulled my phone out of my pocket to use my flashlight. I switched it on, and looked for the source of the crying.
"Kyu!" I heard the crying again, and a sob right behind it. My flashlight then shined onto a Pokemon that I had almost completely forgot about.
It was a Mimikyu, or I think that's what it was. I remembered the two Team Rocket weirdos I had battled with on my first night in Alola had one of these. However, this Mimikyu looked different. It's head was hanging to it's left side, as if it were broken, and it looked like it were crying.

The Mimikyu looked at me, tears in it's little eyes. My heart hurt for the poor little thing. Why was it crying?
"Hi." I said to it, as I gave it a small smile.
It looked up at me, it's little black eyes full of tears. "Kyu?" It said in it's little voice. It was confirmed, this was the Pokemon I had heard crying. I sat down criss cross style in front of it, as I tried to console it.
"What's the matter, cutie? Why are you crying?" I asked it, softly. I looked into it's little eyes, and it almost made me want to cry. This poor little thing had been through something. I still didn't know much about it. I didn't even know it's typing.
I turned my phone's flashlight off, and then I looked at my phone. I may not have Rotom Dex, but I did have my phone. I didn't know how to spell it, so I tapped on my voice icon. "Mimikyu." I said to it.
... Searching... Data found." My phone said.
My phone then brought up everything I needed to know about it. I didn't realize I could just search on my phone as if I had a Pokedex. Wow. I thought.
"Wow, a Ghost and Fairy type?!" I exclaimed quietly. I looked over at the crying Mimikyu. "Wow, you have an awesome typing." I said. I did suspect it was part Fairy, only because Team Rocket's Mimikyu knew a fairy move.
The Mimikyu looked up at me sadly, and then turned it's back to me.
I then looked down at the Pokedex entry for it.
"Awww." I said, as I looked up from my phone and back at the Mimikyu. "I don't think you're terrifying," I said as I looked at it's little Pikachu-like tail. "I think you're adorable." I said, and smiled.
The Mimikyu turned back around to face me, tears in it's little eyes. It closed it's eyes, as if it were in alot of pain. I wonder why it was crying like this? Ugh, I wish Pokemon could talk besides saying their name.
"Do you.. do you want to come with me?" I asked the little Mimikyu, as I watched the tears flow down its face.
The Mimikyu shook its head that was in the rag 'no', and turned it's back towards me again. I felt a little heartbroken that it didn't want to come with me, but it's not like I could force it. I didn't have a Pokeball on me.
I sighed, as I stood up. "Okay, I respect that." I said, and smiled. "I hope you feel better." I said to the little Mimikyu. I was genuinely worried for it, but it's not like I could force it to come with me. I didn't want to leave it, but I knew I had to get back to the Pokemon Center before anyone noticed I was gone.
I walked away, as I kept looking back it. I felt so bad for leaving it, as I watched it's little eyes fill with tears again.

It was now 8am, and everyone including myself was in the cafe area having breakfast. I never went back to sleep, because the little Mimikyu was still on my mind. Why was it crying like that? Why didn't it want to come with me? It was bugging me. I wasn't very hungry, either. I had drank two iced coffees to stay awake. Gengar and Froslass were eating their berries with all of the other Pokemon.

"Something wrong, Emethyst?" Mallow asked, disturbing my thoughts.
"Yeah, you look like something is bothering you." Lillie added.
I shrugged. I didn't know if I should tell anyone about the Mimikyu. It was genuinely bugging me, though. "I'm fine. Just didn't sleep well last night." I said, as I looked off to the side.
I looked around, and saw that boy with the Pikachu from earlier talking with another boy trainer. I was close enough to hear their conversation.
"Nice Pikachu! It's so cute!" The boy said.
"I know right. It's strong too!" The boy with the Pikachu said.
"Hey, don't you have a Mimikyu too?" The boy asked.
"Yeah, well did," the boy laughed. "That thing was so weak and dumb. Couldn't level up or learn a new move to save it's life. It's no wonder it envies Pikachu. I left that thing on a rock in the woods, and told it I would return for it but never did." The boy laughed hysterically.
I began to feel sick to my stomach. It was now that I understood. Mimikyu was crying because it had been abandoned. I began to see red. The type of triggered I was right now can't even be put into words. I got up, and stormed over to the boy in anger. Everyone turned their attention to me, but I didn't care.
"Emethyst?" My dad said.
"Whoa, what's wrong with her?!" Ash exclaimed.
"Go get that Mimikyu." I growled, as I walked up to the boy. The boy then turned to me, and looked at me like I was a joke.
"Oh yeah, or what?" The boy laughed. "You're probably just as weak as it is." He mocked, as he continued stroking his Pikachu.
"That Mimikyu woke me up crying last night, go get it or I'll crush your face!" I snarled, the anger in me coming out. I felt my fists ball up at my sides on impulse.
My dad then jumped in front of me. "Whoa Emethyst, what are you doing?! You can't pick fights!" He growled at me.
I looked up at my dad's familiar green framed eyes. "This kid abandoned his Pokemon. It woke me up crying last night! The poor thing was crying so hard it could hardly breathe!!" I exclaimed, tears of anger welling in my own eyes. "No Pokemon deserves to be treated like that!" I screamed. My heart was broken for that poor Mimikyu.
My dad turned around to face the kid, and the kid was now gone. He dipped when he got the chance, probably because he realized my dad was the Pokemon Professor. I was so angry. The reason why that Mimikyu probably didn't want to come with me was because it was scared to trust again, after that loser abandoned it.
"People like that don't deserve to be Pokemon trainers!" Ash exclaimed, siding with me.
"Agreed! That's so awful!" Lillie exclaimed, also siding with me.
I looked out the window, and wondered if the Mimikyu was still out there. I doubt the kid went and got it. I then looked at Gengar, and got an idea. I ran over to the Pokemart, and went inside. I picked out one Pokeball, and some Nanab berries. I put them on the counter and paid for them. I walked out, Pokeball in hand and berries in hand.
"Emethyst, what are you doing?" My dad asked.
"I'm going to catch me a Pokemon." I said, blankly. I walked over to Gengar. "Gengar, mind if I ride you so we can find the Mimikyu?" I asked him. I was bound and determined I was going to catch me a Mimikyu today. No Pokemon deserves to be treated like that. I couldn't get that little face out of my mind.
"Gengar!" Gengar said, happily and nodded.
"Emethyst, we leave for Melemele in thirty minutes." My dad said, clearly trying to stop me. No one, not even my own father, was going to stop me from doing this.
I shrugged. "And?" I said. "Gengar can fly over water. I'll catch up if I'm late." I said, blankly.
My dad did a face palm, and sighed loudly. "Alright, just be careful." He said. "You're doing it for good reasons."
"I will." I said, as I climbed onto Gengar's familiar spikey back. "Froslass, are you okay with staying with my dad?" I asked her. I didn't know if she wanted to come along or not.
"Fros." She nodded, as she floated by my dad's side. I smiled at her.
I felt like a knight in shining armor about to go rescue a princess in distress. "Alright, come on Gengar! Let's go!" I exclaimed. Gengar floated full speed out of the automatic doors. I will admit, I wasn't used to the speed at first, and my body went flying backwards. "Whoa!" I exclaimed. The sun was shining, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky as always. Gengar was a little high up, but I didn't mind it. I was on a mission to rescue a Pokemon.
"Float over the trees behind the Pokemon Center," I told Gengar. "That's where I last saw it." I said. The trees weren't very dense, so I could see below me. Gengar then floated over the vivid green trees just slightly. I looked down closely at the ground, like a Braviary about to swoop down for it's prey. Gengar then floated over a clearing, and that's when I saw it. I saw its little familiar beige color, like a little spec on the grass.
"There it is!" I exclaimed. The closer I got, I noticed it wasn't alone. There was a Skarmory swooping around it, trying to carry it away. Oh hell no. I thought in my head. I then realized Mimikyu was vulnerable to the Skarmory because of it's Fairy typing.
"Gengar! Paralyze that Skarmory with lick! Don't let me down, buddy!" I exclaimed to him. Nothing was getting in the way of me catching Mimikyu and showing it the love it deserves.
"Geng!" He exclaimed, as I saw him stick his tongue out and go straight for the Skarmory. The Skarmory didn't notice us until last minute, and Gengar licked it, causing it to fall to the ground paralyzed.
"Finish it off with Shadow ball!" I exclaimed to Gengar.
Gengar shot his shadow ball at it, causing it to faint. Yes. I thought.
"Let me down!" I exclaimed to Gengar. Gengar swooped down, and I jumped off of his back onto the soft green grass. I ran over to the Mimikyu, to make sure it was okay.
The Mimikyu stared up at me, it's eyes big, as if they were full of admiration. I smiled down at it, and sat down in front of it again. "Do you remember me from last night?" I asked it, as I looked into it's little beady eyes.
It then got a sad look in it's eyes again, and began crying. "Kyu!" It sobbed.
"Hey, please don't cry," I said to it. "I know why you're so sad. I ran into your trash ex-trainer at the Pokemon Center, and what he did was not cool at all." I said, as I looked at it as lovingly as I possibly could. Gengar joined my side, and sat down beside me. Mimikyu looked over at him, curious. "Kyu?" It said.
I looked at it's little sad eyes. "Listen, I know what it's like to have your heart broken, Mimikyu." I said, recalling how my dad has made me whole again. "But I also know what it's like to have your heart mended." I said to the little Mimikyu, as I smiled.
The Mimikyu's tears dried, and looked up at me. "Mi?" It said.
"Mimikyu, please..." I plead. "Let me show you that not all Pokemon trainers are trash," I said to it. "Let me show you the love you deserve." I said to it, a tear or two welling in my own eyes. I wasn't going to give up on this heartbroken baby.
I took out my Pokeball, and pressed the button in the center to make it larger. I held the Pokeball up to it. "Please, Mimikyu. Let me catch you and show you the love you deserve." I said to it, pleading.
Mimikyu looked at the Pokeball, and then back at me. It kept repeating the same thing over and over again, until it lifted it's head, and jumped right into my arms.
"Oh!" I exclaimed, happily, not expecting what it did, knocking the Pokeball out of my hand. I wrapped my arms around it in response. "So you'll come with me?" I asked it.
Mimikyu then jumped out of my arms, and over to the Pokeball. It tapped the button, and it went inside. The Pokeball wiggled three times.
Tears filled in my eyes as I watched this. I picked up the Pokeball, and held it close to my heart. "Mimikyu, I promise for as long as I am alive you will never go unloved." I said to it, as I then kissed the Pokeball.
