《Pokémon Sun & Moon: Emethyst's Journey》Chapter 37

I finished putting on the last touch of blush, as I examined my appearance. I had gone all out with it, and decided to go a little above my comfort zone. I blacked out my eye lids and swept a lavender and violet colored eyeshadow above the black into my crease to give it an iridescent ombre like effect. The black and purple made my brown eyes pop more, and I was beginning to feel myself. If I were a Ghost type Gym Leader, this would be the makeup I wore every day. My eyes reminded me of Gastlys. I then took that nude pink liquid lipstick from the other day, and spread it onto my lips. I thought about going for a dark lip, but I wanted the attention on my eyes for tonight.
I did my hair into a long, textured side braid. Similar to Elsa's braid from It took a few tries to get the right look. As soon as I had the look I wanted, I sprayed hairspray into it to get it to hold. After I finished my hair; I looked at myself in the mirror, and tears welled in my eyes. I was in love with the way I looked. It felt magical, as if my fairy godmother came down and waved her wand and made me look like this. I went from a washed up ghost trainer from Lavender Town, to something out of my dreams.
Now it was time for the finishing touch. I slipped the beautiful black dress on, and slipped my heels on. I looked down at the purple gem beadwork, and the shoes. I felt so amazing. My mother's megastone added a little more to the look as well. Wow. I said.
Knock knock knock!
There was a knock on the door. I expected it to be the other girls, because they still hadn't came back. The time was 5:30pm. "Come in!" I called out of the bathroom.
"Emethyst?" My dad's familiar voice called out. Ugh, of course. I thought. "Are you almost ready?" He called.
I took a deep breath. I wasn't sure how he was going to react when he saw me like this. "Yeah, almost." I said, as I double checked my appearance to make sure I looked perfect. I couldn't believe the girl looking back at me from the mirror was me. .
"Well, let's see." My dad said.
I sighed loudly. It felt like that night at the talent show again; When I was scared to even walk out on stage. I didn't know what my dad would think when he saw me, but here goes nothing.
I walked out of the bathroom, my heels clicking on the floor. The moment my dad saw me, it was like he had a hard time believing it was me.
"Holy.. Emethyst?" He quaked. "I hardly recognized you for a moment." He said, and then smiled. "You look beautiful."

I smiled confidently. "Thanks Dad. I put alot into this." I said, as I was feeling comfortable in my own skin now. I couldn't wait to actually get to the dance.
"You remind me so much of your mother," my dad said. "She used to love wearing fancy dresses and dressing up." He said, as he recalled a memory.
I thought back to when she was alive. This was true, my mother would always dress like she was attending a red carpet event. It didn't matter where she was going, she could just be going grocery shopping and she would literally dress the way I was dressed now. I used to think it was annoying, but now I kind of miss it. "Yeah, I remember." I said, finally.
"Well, are you ready?" My dad asked. "There's someone waiting for you." He winked.
I felt my eyebrow raise on impulse. "Who?" I asked. Now I was kind of scared. Froslass and Haunter joined my sides, and looked like they were ready to go.
"You'll just have to see when we get there." My said, as he walked over to me and put his arm around me. "I can walk you there."
I looked up at him, and smiled. "Okay, Dad." I said. I didn't know what to expect, but I was ready. Was it Mallow?
***
My dad and I walked up the steps to the dance hall. I could hear the loud music from outside. The sun was beginning to set, and the weather was beginning to cool down a bit. A cool breeze blew into my left ear, causing it to whistle. Froslass and Haunter floated by my side.
My dad and I stopped at the entrance. "Alright, Emethyst. Have fun." My dad said, as he hugged me. I was now confused. Wasn't he staying?
"Aren't you coming in?" I asked, as I slowly hugged him back. I was now confused. I thought he was one of the chaperones?
My dad let go of me, and smiled. "Hey, this is your chance to let loose a little. I need to stop checking on you so much.
I know you're going to have a great time," He said. "Have fun, Emethyst." He said, warmly. "I'll be back later."
My heart skipped in excitement. I couldn't believe he was letting me do this. For once, he was gonna let me have a little fun without him breathing down my neck. "Thank you, dad!" I exclaimed. He then walked away, and I turned to the entrance of the dance hall. Haunter, Froslass, and I walked in. I slipped my phone into my breasts.
I saw very few people I recognized, and alot I didn't recognize. I saw alot of women, I assumed to be some of the moms for the dance. The lights were dimmed, and the music was loud to where the bass was vibrating my insides. I looked around, but didn't see anyone here who I immediately thought was here to see me. I didn't even see anyone from the Pokemon School. That was kind of odd. Then again, maybe they just weren't all here yet.

Froslass and Haunter floated around solemnly. They acted like they didn't really know what to do. I was still a little shy, and didn't really know what to do myself. I just stood there at the entrance. The place was huge, but I felt confined to that small space.
Suddenly, the music faded. The DJ exclaimed over his microphone. The DJ exclaimed.
By some form of fate or luck, the familiar tune of Dance Like There's No Tomorrow by Paula Abdul came on over the speaker. This was literally my favorite song, and I was here to dance. Plus, there was hardly anyone here I recognized so I could let loose a bit without anyone thinking I was crazy.
I clicked my heels closer to the speakers, and began dancing as soon as the singing started. Haunter and Froslass joined me, and danced in their own way. I closed my eyes, and just let the music take over me. I did the same dance routine from the talent show, which was literally the dance routine from Paula's music video for the song. However, I was no Beyonce, and it was difficult to dance in the heels. So I stopped for the moment to kick them off and set them out of the way. I then continued dancing barefoot. I closed my eyes, and just let the music take over me again.
I got so into it; that when I turned to my right and opened my eyes; I noticed there was another woman dancing with me. I didn't know who she was nor had I ever seen her before. She had white spiked hair that was pointing backwards, and had some sort of green headband on the back of her head. She wore a gray tank top with a diamond shaped neck. She had something wrapped around her waist, I couldn't exactly tell what it was. I assumed it was a jacket or something. She also wore black legging-like pants. I guess she liked this song as well? Her moves were in exact sync with mine. However, I just kept dancing and pretended like I didn't notice her.
"Please DJ don't say it's the last call, cause I know what it means and I can't take no slow song,
I'm still building an urge to talk to that guy, just give me another song and make it right!" Paula howled over the speaker. I was really enjoying myself now. Haunter and Froslass were floating around and dancing in their own way as well. I was happy they were having fun. My ghosts and I were having a great time.
The song ended before I knew it, and I stopped for the moment to catch my breath. I was now sweating a bit. I put my heels back on, and decided to go outside for some fresh air. I turned around, and noticed more people had walked in. I saw Ash and Pikachu with a woman who had a Mr. Mime at her side. I assumed that was his mom. I was gonna go over and say hi, but I was sweating and wanted some fresh air first. However, I still didn't see Lana, Lillie, or Mallow. I thought that was kind of strange.
Haunter and Froslass followed me outside, where the cool breeze hit my face. It felt amazing. The sky was now that familiar dark blue, with the stars shining brightly like little bits and pieces of glitter. I smiled up at them, as I caught my breath.
"Froslass?" Froslass said, as she looked around. I raised my eyebrow. "Something wrong, Froslass?" I asked. She continued looking around as if she were paranoid.
Before I knew it, Froslass took off floating down the steps. "Froslass!!" She called. I then saw her take off in the woods across the street. Ugh, what now?
"Froslass! Wait for me! What's with you?" I called out, as I ran as fast as I could in the heels. Froslass was picking up speed. Did she see something? I was confused. Haunter floated next to me, and I could tell he was just as confused as I was.
I went deeper into the woods. I kept my eyes on Froslass's familiar snowy dress like figure that was illuminated in the night. "Froslass! Wait for me!" I called out to her. I saw Froslass stop in the middle of the woods, and do some sort of calling. "Froslass! Froslass!" She screamed. I walked as quick as I could, twigs and pinecones crunching underneath my heels. "Froslass! What's with you?" I asked her.
Suddenly, fog formed around us. It was kind of eerie, and reminded me a bit of Lavender Town at night. The night then slowly faded into day. "What the?" I said, as I looked around. "What's going on?" I said, as I looked around.
I felt the familiar vibrating of my phone in my chest. "Huh?" I said, as I reached in and pulled it out.
I unlocked it, and was not prepared for what I was about to read. All blood drained my face, and every little bit of feeling left my body when I read what the notification was.
