iii. the decision
"Klaus!" Emilee yelled in frustration as he continued to walk out. She was furious that he would let her die. After all that Emilee did and sacrificed for over the years, she knew him. She had high expectations that he would at least look out for her as he claimed he would do. But like everyone told her numerous times, 'Klaus Mikaelson will always look after himself' she honestly had to believe that now.
Frustration tears welled in her eyes as she looked about the room to see all those people looking at her, some with sympathetic sadness but others as if she was nothing like a means to an end.
"You might as well kill me then cause he's not going to come back. You say you have the guts to do it." Emilee looks toward Sophie with fury in her eyes as she storms toward her. Before she could get to her, Elijah lightly grabbed her arms, stopping her.
"You have the guts to pull that threat. Do it-do it now!" she screams at her making Sophie jump.
"Emilee..." Elijah called out to her. She looked at him with tears.
"No one touches her. I'll handle this." She wipes the tears that flow down her face and overhears the witches talking. She stood behind quietly as they spoke.
"Marcel and his vampires are out of control. Something had to be initiated." Sophie defended herself in front of the witches. "And the solution is more vampires?" The elderly witch Agnes argued.
"They aren't just vampires, Agnes. They're the Originals." Sophie explains.
"What makes you think you can control the hybrid?" Agnes argues.
"She can't. Not entirely certain that I can, either, but now that your coven has drawn Klaus' ire, I have a question. What prevents my brother from murdering you instead of cooperating?" Elijah's voice silently was heard throughout the room, Emilee praying that Klaus was with him, but he was alone.
Sophie grabbed a needle and showed the needle to Elijah before pricking her palm.
"Ow!" Emilee hissed. Elijah looks at her. A drop of blood on her hand, precisely at the same point where Sophie hurt herself. "What the hell!?"
"What did you do?" Elijah asked, looking at Sophie.
"The spell my sister performed, the one that got her killed, it didn't just confirm the pregnancy. It linked me to Emilee. So anything that happens to me happens to her. Klaus may not care about his children, but what they mean to you is very clear. If I have to hurt Emilee or worse to ensure that I have your attention, I will." Sophie threatens.
"You would dare threaten an Original?" Elijah stood slightly amused.
"I have nothing to lose. You have until midnight to get Klaus to change his mind." The grin disappears from Elijah's face.

"You gave him a pep talk!?" Emilee asked him in disbelief, "Really, Elijah, my life is on the line here." she whined; he looked at her with amusement. The brunette sighs.
"I'm sorry, I'm freaking out over here. I will die if Klaus doesn't agree to this." She sat next to him.

"I'm going to find Klaus," Elijah says to Emilee. She nodded as he got up and left.
"Hayley," Emilee sighed in relief as she gave her a bone-crushing hug. When the witches brought Hayley in, though her life was on the line, relief washed over her when she saw her sister walk in unharmed.
"Oh, thank goodness you're okay; they wouldn't let me see you-" They let go of each other, and Hayley gave her a surprised look. Emilee gave her a confused look 'what?' she thought to herself as she looked down at herself, thinking she had something on her. She had been in the same clothes all night, but only it was dust on her.
"You're pregnant with Klaus' kids. When did this happen? After I left!?" she questioned.
"It was a drunken mistake." She mumbled.
The twins talked as they waited on Elijah to come back with Klaus. She had time to calm down after the outburst when he had left. Though she had a right to be upset, she needed to hold her composure. She needed to believe that something was going to happen and that Klaus wouldn't let her die.
Hayley fell asleep while Emilee sat and waited on Elijah till morning. Her nerves wouldn't let her sleep as she waited on the news. Was she going to die or be a pawn? she wouldn't be happy about either, but being an instrument would mean she would be alive, and her unborn children would grow to be alive. She didn't even notice Elijah's presence until she saw him in the corner of her eye, leaning against the crypt entrance. Emilee gently nudged Hayley awake.
"You two ready to go?" He asked, looking at the twins, "Klaus listened to you?" She questioned as she stood up. Realizing she never introduced Hayley to Elijah stammered to get that out of the way.
"Um, this is my sister Hayley-" The Gilbert girl introduced the two, but Hayley stopped her. "No need; he found me and introduced himself to me while you were with the witches."
"How did you get Klaus to listen to you?" Hayley asked.
"It was his decision," Elijah confessed as they walked out of the cemetery. "Really? He seemed so adamant that he wanted nothing to do with either of us." Emilee said, surprised.
Elijah turned to the pregnant woman, "You may not believe it, Emilee, but Klaus has a soft spot for you and these babies." Elijah said in all sincerity.
"Only you know that Elijah, you seek redemption in Klaus; how do you know he's not lying?" She asked, "I've been with my brother for centuries now; I know when he finds his muse."
Hayley scoffed as she rubbed her arms as it was slightly chilly. Elijah quickly took off his jacket and put it around her. "Here, It's chilly," Hayley smiled. "I guess chivalry isn't dead, just late to the damn party," They maintained eye contact before heading to the car.
Elijah drove the twins to a plantation house in the middle of nowhere. Emilee went to find a room to sleep in, exhausted from my two days' worth of stressful events.

The following day Emilee came downstairs. She overheard the conversation between Hayley and the older original. Hayley was leaning on a crib; they were in a serious discussion. Emilee hoped they were semi-flirting, but they were talking about her.
She walked closer to the open area, trying not to be noticed or seen, trying to listen more, "So I'm curious. In all this, how do you think Emilee feels?" Elijah asks.
"How it feels to have miracle babies with a psychotic one-night stand?" She joked sarcastically.
"About being a Mother," Elijah said thoughtfully.
Hayley sighed, "Emilee and I were abandoned and separated from foster care. She was set with a family, as you know, even though her parents left. Her family loved her unconditionally until they died; she cared for her siblings. She never left them, stood by their side when needed, and took the parental role in the house; she loved them even though they weren't her real family. Hell, she did the same to me, and all I wanted was a sister," she laughed.
"But I think my sister is freaking out, but I believe she will be an excellent mother because she doesn't give up." She smiled at Elijah, "Cause she would want those babies to have a better life than we both did."
Elijah walked towards her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I will protect you and Emilee. You have my word on that." staring into her eyes.
"And the Noble Elijah always keeps his word." Emilee heard from right next to her by the doorway. With his infamous smirk, Klaus looked at the sweet moment in amusement, putting his hand around Emilee's shoulder and bringing her into the room with him. Not wanting to talk, Hayley left, not wanting to be around Klaus, leaving just the three of them.
"Is it done?" Elijah asked Klaus,
"As a matter of fact, yes. Your secret deal worked quite well. Marcel was only too happy to take my blood, even as he accepted my heartfelt apologies. His man Thierry yet lives, and I remain a welcome guest in the French Quarter. My only concern now is this covenant of impudent witches." Klaus answered.
Although the witches haven't been forthcoming, the witches released Emilee and Hayley to Elijah. "I believe them to be honorable. Marcel has something that they need. They Don't want him dead. There must be a reason why." Elijah questioned.
"Well, I don't like them, and we should find a way to unlink me before they try to harm me through Sophie, But that's my option. You can choose to use it or not, but I'm going to leave so you two can finish diabolically scheming." Emilee says, crossing her arms. Though they might seem complaint at first wither their list of demands and Klaus's obedience, the witches have something up their sleeves that can harm Sophie, Emilee, and the twin babies.
Emilee walked out, heading upstairs, when she heard Klaus call her name, "Emilee, How do you like the accommodations?" Klaus wanted to know how she was feeling about the house; it was his way of making conversation after last night's events between her and the witches.
She turned around," The house is lovely. It's not the place I would see myself staying hiding out from people trying to kill me, but I can make due." She answered him. The science was deafening as there was a question that she needed to ask for the sake of her peace of mind; just she was afraid to ask him when she just blurted it out, "Why did you agree to the term of the witches?" He stared at her, startled by her question.
"You could've killed me and wouldn't be having this situation with them. You were going to do it before," Klaus sighed.
"Elijah made me realize that I had a once-of-a-lifetime opportunity. To have a chance at having something impossible for me, my kind." He answered, looking at her stomach.
"You say that now, but it took Elijah's convincing to change your mind where you were so careless with our lives like it meant nothing to you. After all that we've been through, I thought it would have meant something to you just a little bit." She confessed to him, which made him take a perspective as Klaus looked into Emilee's eyes and saw genuine hurt.
As he unconsciously took her hands into his, 'I should have taken that into perspective but living the life I have, people have done so much to me that I couldn't accept a demand like that. To be controlled but for children's sake seemed a sign of weakness. But I will try to be better for you and our children.'
That is what Klaus wanted to say and do. But it didn't happen; instead, he looked down at the floor, saying, "I will try my best to be better." before returning to Elijah.
Emilee went to the room to talk to Hayley. She told her what happened that night, and she started laughing at her," so that's why you told me to go, so you cause have sex with Klaus Mikaelson?" Playfully hitting and swatting at her.
Emilee rolled her eyes "no, I told you to leave cause I was worried, and I didn't want to be waited on." She got up from the bed. "I'm going to talk to Elijah."
"Elijah?" she called his name, but there was no answer. She walked downstairs.
She turned the corner to see Klaus, and it scared her, "Jeez, Klaus," she exclaimed, holding her chest.
"Sorry, Love. I didn't mean to scare you. Elijah's not here if you're looking for him,"
"Well, where did he go?" She asked him." He left," He states very bluntly before turning to leave.
Elijah wouldn't just leave just like that. Klaus was up to something, and it had something to do with Elijah; Cause he made his promise and never broke it.

8 244The Morgulon
Greg never really wanted to become a werewolf hunter. He just wanted to prove to his father that he could do the job his family was famous for, maybe earn some money while he’s at it. He certainly never wanted to become a werewolf, or run away from home, or fight the inquisition. Unfortunately, as his brothers would say, fate has a shitty sense of humour. Updates on Mondays. "I feel like this story perfectly represents how you can't judge a book by its cover (or, in this case, concept). Edgy badboy werewolf teen romance? Yeet that concept out the window and get ready for an action-packed fantasy with an incredibly built world and logical, realistic characters." "This is a great story, probably better than any werewolf novel I've read. It's certainly not a typical werewolf story (but don't let that stop you from reading it, the werewolves are still amazing.)" "A werewolf story where people aren't constantly meeting gruesome ends that still maintains a gritty atmosphere. Realistic worldbuilding and character design make this a must read!" - RR reviews The first chapter is also on DeviantArt, more may follow.
