At the Orchard, Klaus and Ophelia were standing beside each other, leaning against his parked truck, where Hope was sitting quietly in her car seat in the trunk. Next to them was Freya's unconscious body and several feet away, Dahlia had set up a small table, on which she had created an infinity symbol with salt and lit candles, where two small pewter chalices sat within each circle in preparation for her linking spell.
Klaus sighed audibly, causing Dahlia to look over at him for a moment before speaking, "You're quiet. Are you having misgivings?"
"I was just looking for a polite way to ask, 'What the hell is taking so long'?" Klaus asked Dahlia in a mocking tone, a smirk on his face.
Dahlia gestured to the table in front of her, "Well, we can begin now."
Klaus' smirk wiped off of his face, and he tilted his head curiously at her as he waited for further explanations. Dahlia smiled at him, visibly pleased about winning as Ophelia watched closely, "Once we're linked, I'll no longer have to sleep a hundred years again," She began to explain the immortal hybrid, "Your concerns for my status will ease, and I'll finally be able to focus on Hope and Ophelia."
She looked over at Hope, who was still sitting quietly in the car and Ophelia, who was sitting beside the infant girl. Klaus looked over at Hope and Ophelia as well, and Hope turned her head to look at her father. Ophelia, on the other hand, avoided eye contact with Klaus, still clearly upset.
After a moment, Dahlia walked toward Klaus, "I will only need one drop of their blood--" She started, causing Klaus to sigh and stand to his feet, blocking her from coming any closer to Hope and Ophelia while giving her a patronizing smile as well, "And then their power shall be mine also."
Klaus looked into the backseat, where Freya still laid unconscious, "What do you want to do about Freya?" He questioned Dahlia curiously.
"She served her purpose," She told Klaus in a calm tone, looking up at mon, which was at its its waning crescent phase, "So, tonight, at the moon's apex, I'll end her life, and once our link is severed, the bond that I share with your daughter and Ophelia will become permanent."
Klaus didn't seem pleased about Dahlia's reaction or her plan in general, but he did his best to keep his intentions concealed by smiling at her, "Best get on with it, then." He encouraged her.
Klaus pushed past Dahlia and walked toward the table, and Dahlia followed close behind him. Once there, she held out her hand, which Klaus took and clasped tightly. Dahlia waved her free hand over the table before she began to chant, "Medareno sometswar. Medareno sometswar." She chanted loudly.
After a moment, the pewter chalices in front of her started to fill with blood, which began to pour over the rim and onto the table. From there, the blood traveled toward the center of the infinity symbol. Klaus could barely cover up his displeasure at the event while Dahlia swayed and clutched onto his hand tightly, "Medareno sometswar. Medareno sometswar."
Dahlia continued the spell as their blood merged together in the middle of the infinity symbol. Suddenly, Dahlia and Klaus were knocked backward forcefully by the power of the spell, and both gasped loudly as Dahlia felt the rush of Klaus' power through her.
In the car, Hope started to whimper, so Ophelia was quick to move closer to her with Klaus following soon thereafter.

Once Dahlia had recovered, she began to laugh happily while Klaus' back was turned to her, "With your strength, I will never need to sleep for a century again."
"Well..." Klaus trailed off, causing Ophelia to frown as she watched him take a golden dagger out of his jacket, "Perhaps one more nap."
Dahlia, confused, turned back toward Klaus, who turned around to face her with the tip of the golden dagger piercing his chest. Dahlia realized what he was about to do and thrust her hand toward him, but it was too late; He has already daggered himself, causing both herself and Klaus to begin to desiccate.
Hope began to cry and Ophelia quickly took Hope out of her car seat, holding her in her arms to try and comfort her.
Ophelia's eyes widen in shock when Freya suddenly awoke with a gasp next to her and looked around in surprise to find both Dahlia and Klaus neutralized, "What the hell happened?" She asked Ophelia, who let out a sigh before beginning her story.
______
The following morning, Ophelia was holding a fussy Hope in her arms as she rocked her soothingly. Freya stood beside, both she and Ophelia looking beyond overwhelmed.
Hope kept an eye on Klaus and Dahlia's neutralized bodies as she did so, which led to Ophelia turning her body that Hope could longer look at the two bodies.
After a moment, Elijah arrived, having run the entire way there at vampire speed, "Well, my adage holds; Nothing good ever happens in a clearing in the woods." Freya commented as Elijah walked closer to them.
"Nothing good ever happens where my brother is concerned," Elijah remarked as he looked down at Hope, who had stopped crying, and his face softened slightly at the sight of his niece safe and sound.
Ophelia cleared her throat, wanting him to correct himself, "With one exception." He corrected himself as he rubbed Hope's back soothingly.
Hope whimpered as she rubbed her eyes with her small hands, "How are you not affected by the curse?" Elijah asked Ophelia in concerned, causing her to sigh.
"Long story, we don't have time," She told Elijah, who nodded his head in understanding.
"I see," He responded, nodding toward Hope, "How is she?"
"She's her father's daughter," Ophelia responded, "She's perfectly fine. Even after everything that happened last night."
Ophelia watched closely as Elijah examined Klaus and Dahlia's bodies after hearing her words, "When I woke, they were like this," Freya informed Elijah, "Ophelia said that Klaus daggered himself once they were linked to protect her and Hope. Rebekah tells me Klaus has a plan to kill Dahlia, that he knew our plan would not work?"
Elijah nodded his head in confirmation, "Yes. According to him, our ingredients were incorrect. Niklaus infiltrated Dahlia's mind. You didn't break her heart. We needed the blood of the witch she loved the most, and you are not that witch; that honor goes to our beloved mother."
Freya sighed in frustration, as she knew that Esther was dead because she had been the one to kill her, "So, we need Esther's blood?" She questioned Elijah, "Well, that's impossible--I killed her."
Though he was somewhat surprised, Elijah did not seem at all upset by this confession, "One incarnation," He pointed out and Freya looked at him in shock, "Our mother is buried in New Orleans. Niklaus wants us to revive the original body."
____
Meanwhile, Ophelia, Elijah, Freya, and Hope had made it back to the compound with the still-daggered Klaus and neutralized Dahlia, where they laid them on the floor of the living room. Marcel and Rebekah soon joined them and Marcel knelt down on the ground to examine Klaus' body.

Rebekah sighed dramatically, "Nik is demented!" She exclaimed loudly, "Are we really to dig up our mother, burn her to ash, swap said ash with Kol's, and then trick Davina into using up her last chance to bring someone back from the dead? Not to mention we lose the opportunity to save Kol...if Davina doesn't turn us inside out!"
Ophelia had heard that Davina had gained the title as Regent, which made her awfully proud, but she couldn't yet congratulate the girl, seeing as though there were bigger issues at hand.
"Or, we dig a deep hole and leave both our problems at the bottom of it," Elijah suggested.
Freya unhappily stared down at Dahlia's body, "I say we choose a more permanent option--find the white oak stake, kill Klaus, Dahlia dies with him." She proposed, causing Ophelia to roll her eyes.
Marcel scoffed loudly, giving Freya a look of disbelief, "Well, yeah, and so do I, and every other vampire that Klaus has turned!"
"There's something fundamentally wrong with all of you," Ophelia spoke up, causing the group to turn to her, "There's no way I'm not letting any of you kill Klaus. Over my dead body!"
"Didn't he just curse your entire pack to remain in wolf form every day but the full moon?" Freya questioned Ophelia, clearly trying to make it so that Ophelia got so angry at Klaus, that she decided to side with her.
"Yeah, and he also thought it was going to affect me as well," Ophelia informed the group, whose eyes widened in shock, "But that doesn't mean I want him to die. No matter what that asshole does, he'll always mean a lot to me."
Ophelia, who heard a strange sound, frowned before turning back toward the bodies. When she looked back at Klaus, she noticed that the golden dagger in his chest was beginning to melt, causing her eyes to widen in shock, "My God," She muttered under her breath before becoming louder, "The dagger!"
The rest of the group turned toward Klaus and immediately noticed that the end of the dagger was beginning to slowly but surely melt, so that the handle became shorter and shorter, presumably from Dahlia's magic, "It's bloody melting!" Rebekah exclaimed in shock, her eyes wide.
Elijah sighed in defeat, "We have no choice but to finish the task that Niklaus has set."
Ophelia, Elijah, Rebekah, Marcel, and Freya all looked grim as they considered their only option and watched as the dagger continued to melt.
_______
Later on that day, Freya and Ophelia were working on a spell to halt or slow the magic that was melting the dagger in Klaus' heart, which involved sprinkling salt over it as they recited an incantation, "Convultaras distere. Convultaras distere." They chanted in unison.
After a moment, Freya became frustrated when the spell didn't seem to work and threw the rest of the sand on Klaus, "Hey, that's not nice," Ophelia sarcastically commented, rising to her feet.
"It's no use; We can't slow her magic. Everything we're trying is failing." Freya informed Marcel.
Marcel anxiously rubbed his brow with his hand. After a moment, they heard a faint whispering noise, along with creaking, and when they looked up, they saw that vines covered in black dahlia flowers were beginning to grow inside the compound. The vines twisted around the railings on the balcony overlooking the courtyard, and both Freya and Marcel looked incredibly alarmed, "There's gotta be a way to kill her." Marcel told the two women with a sigh.
Freya grabbed the white oak stake out of her inside jacket pocket and held it up, looking both unhappy and determined, "There is."
Ophelia immediately turned to see Freya with the stake, causing her to immediately lunge for her, "Freya, no!" She shouted out in fear.
Before Ophelia or Marcel could react, Freya raised her hand and thrust it toward them, pinning them to the wall behind them.
Ophelia desperately tried to fight it, even more than Marcel, but found herself stuck in place.
Moments later, Ophelia and Marcel continued to struggle against Freya's binding spell while she held the white oak stake over Klaus' daggered body. By that point, the golden dagger's handle was almost completely melted, and had formed a pool of molten gold on Klaus' chest.
"Freya, please, I'm begging you, we can find another way!" Ophelia pleaded, tears beginning to form in her eyes at thought of Klaus dying at the hands of Freya.
"I'm sorry, but I see no other way," Freya responded, fear in her eyes as she spoke to Ophelia.
Freya held the white oak stake in one hand while she held Ophelia and Marcel in place with the other. She looked determined to stake Klaus, thereby killing Dahlia along with him, "No! No! No!" Marcel shouted Freya, "You kill him, you kill me, too!"
Freya looked at Marcel, and was clearly not happy about what she was about to do, as she had tears in her eyes and looked so anxious she was almost hysterical, "I don't want to kill you!" She told him before turning to look at Klaus desperately, "I don't want to kill him!"
A crackling noise was heard as the dagger, whose handle was almost completely gone at that point, continued to melt, "This is the family I longed for, but because of her--" Freya continued to talk to Marcel and Ophelia as she looked back at Dahlia's body with loathing, "I'll forever be alone."
Freya lifted the stake up and was just about to thrust it into his chest when Klaus, who was no longer desiccated, reached up and grabbed her wrist to prevent her from finishing it. He looked almost touched after having overheard her confession about her family, "Sister..." He trailed off, lowering her hand but squeezed it tightly and affectionately.
Ophelia's eyes widened when she saw Klaus finally awake, but she soon gasped as she watched Dahlia awaken with a gasp and look absolutely furious about what Klaus did to her.
Klaus, who was just sitting up himself, still weakened from the effects of the dagger, glared at her furiously.
Ophelia rushed over to Klaus, even though she was mad at him and helped Klaus up onto his feet alongside Freya. He used Ophelia for support as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
The two of them, Freya, and Marcel slowly backed away from Dahlia, who was standing upright as well and was glaring at them, "I'm almost impressed by the lengths you'd go to for your little girl and the woman you love," Dahlia stated, looking over at Ophelia, "Though, not enough to let bygones be."
Dahlia held up her hand and used her telekinesis to rip the white oak stake from Freya's free hand so that it flew into her own. Klaus, Ophelia, and Freya all looked alarmed for a moment, but Klaus tried to play it tough, "We are still linked, dear aunt. You may not want to punish me with that particular weapon."
Dahlia gave Klaus an amused look, "Hmm. I made sure that the link between us melted along with that dagger. Meaning..." She trailed off, "I'm quite free to kill you!"
Dahlia pointed the stake at Klaus and used her magic pull him toward her so she could stake him, causing Ophelia's eyes to widen in shock.
Marcel lunged forward and tackled Klaus to save both him and the rest of their sire line, Marcel included.
However, Marcel and Klaus were so distracted that Dahlia was able vanish with both the stake and Freya while they were on the ground.
Hearing Hope's cries, Ophelia sped up the stairs without second thought with the two men following soon after. The vines and dahlia flowers were still growing inside the compound, and had managed to cover all of the walls and ceiling of the nursery as well, causing Ophelia's eyes to widen in shock.
As they grew, they wrapped around Hope's cradle and moved out toward Hope, pricking her hand with one of its thorns and drawing blood, which made Hope cry even harder.
Just as Ophelia rushed toward to help Hope, she, too, got pricked by a thorn, "Ow!" She winced in pain as Marcel and Klaus made it upstairs to Hope and were momentarily relieved to see that she was still there along with Ophelia.
Klaus wasted no time rushing over to her and picking her up in his arms to soothe her, looking Ophelia at relieved look as well when he saw that she wasn't taken either, but he tried his hardest to hide it.
"Why didn't she take Hope or Ophelia?" Marcel asked Klaus concerned.
"Because all she needed was a drop of their blood," Klaus informed Marcel, letting a sigh, "Unfortunately, I have no idea where the vile harpy has fled to."
Marcel let out a large sigh, "All right, go," He told Klaus, "Get Hope and Ophelia someplace safe. I'll track down your witch," He paused, giving him a hard look, "And, when this is over, you and I are gonna settle up."
"Provided we survive what's to come tonight, I look forward to it," Klaus responded, watching as Marcel left the compound in a rush.

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***
