Ophelia sat in the passenger's seat of Klaus' car. She stared out the window, remaining silent the whole entire car ride. All she could think about was how in a few weeks, she would be marrying Jackson, while her heart belonged to the man who happened to be driving the car she was forced the spend several hours in as they drove to Arkansas.
Klaus couldn't take the silence anymore and spoke up, "What is it?" He asked her, "You're never this quiet. What's bothering you?"
"I'm fine," Ophelia replied after a moment of silence, "I'm just feeling a bit weird. I've never left the city before."
Hayley frowned in confusion and leaned forward in her seat in the back, "Really?" She asked in disbelief, "You've been alive for over three hundred years, but never once left New Orleans?"
"New Orleans is my home," Ophelia replied without hesitation, "I never want to leave it."
"So what is it that you wanted to tell me, Ophelia?" Klaus questioned Ophelia, who remained silent as she and Hayley shared a worried glance with each other.
"We can talk about it after," Ophelia answered, "I don't think Hayley wants to be a third wheel to our conversation. Right, Hayley?"
Ophelia turned her head to look at Hayley, hoping she would go with it, "Right." Hayley replied and Klaus rolled his eyes in annoyance.

About an hour later, Klaus' black SUV drove down the driveway, and Klaus didn't even get the chance to park before Hayley rushed out of the backseat of the car and sprinted toward Rebekah, Elijah, and her daughter.
She stopped in her tracks as soon as she saw Hope, almost as though she couldn't believe her eyes. Rebekah and Elijah both smiled at her as Ophelia and Klaus caught up with them, and Elijah wasted no time handing a smiling Hope to Hayley, "Hi," She greeted her daughter as she hugged her tightly and breathed a sigh of relief.
Behind her, Klaus was near tears and too overwhelmed to move. Hayley, unable to meet Elijah's eye, turned so Klaus could see his daughter as well. Hope cooed happily and the two hybrids laughed.

Meanwhile later, the Mikaelsons discussed the newest revelations they had just learned while they continued to build the bonfire, "Curse on the first-born? What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?" Rebekah asked Klaus and Ophelia in confusion.
"Well, according to Finn, our sister Freya didn't die of plague," Klaus informed her, "She was taken as payment by our aunt Dahlia, who then cursed all Mikaelson first-borns for eternity."
"Is any of this true?" Hayley asked them concerned.
"It is if we are to believe Finn, who learned it from the bastion of truth, our mother," Elijah replied as he rolled up his sleeves.
"Well, no wonder your brother hates all of you," Ophelia commented, causing the whole group to turn to her and frown, "He lost the sister he adored, and instead got a judgy pack of siblings who found him unbearably boring. I mean, come on, wouldn't you?"
"Great," Hayley sarcastically responded, "So, is there any chance of us running into your loony aunt Dahlia any time soon?"
"The fable's over a thousand years old. Dahlia is long dead." Elijah assured her.
"Like Esther?" Hayley retorted, causing Ophelia to sigh.
"No one's going to hurt Hope, because no one's going to find her," Klaus assured Hayley before pausing, turning to Rebekah, who was continuing to fetch wood, "There's enough wood, Rebekah. You'll burn down the whole bloody state of Arkansas."

Rebekah rubbed her hands together excitedly as she returned to where her siblings were standing, "Well, we're just missing a key ingredient!" She complained.
Klaus sighed dramatically, "No, we're not."
"Yes, we are, Nik! Back me up, Elijah!" Rebekah begged her elder brother.
Elijah laughed, "I suspect Niklaus would rather choke on the ashes."
"What are you all talking about?" Hayley asked the group confused, causing Ophelia to smile as she felt nostalgic for the bonfire seasons she spent with the Mikaelsons in New Orleans.
"Well, before we light it, we write down our wishes for each other to burn for luck!" Rebekah explained to Hayley, "It was Kol's favorite part when we were kids!"
"It's further evidence as to why we should ignore it!" Klaus complained.
"Hope's first bonfire season. I like it!" Hayley smiled, "We're doing it!"
With that, Hayley rushed inside for paper. Rebekah, who was pleased, turned to her brothers and smiled smugly, causing Ophelia to laugh loudly.
"Ophelia," Klaus spoke up, causing Ophelia to turn to her, "Maybe it's time we talk?"
"But we're about to have a bonfire," Ophelia replied, clearly trying to stall.
"Hope is asleep," Klaus informed her, "We won't be able to do until she is awake."
Ophelia sighed, shaking her head, "Let's talk about it after." She told him, about to walk off.
Before she could walk away, Klaus lightly grabbed her arm, causing Ophelia to turn to him, "Let's talk about it now." He insisted.
Ophelia sighed in defeat, just before leading him upstairs to one of the empty bedrooms to talk.
"What is it?" Klaus questioned Ophelia, "What is so horrid you are hesitant to tell me?"
Ophelia sighed, avoiding eye contact with Klaus, "My wolves. I think I figured out a way to release them from the witches," She informed him before she finally turned to him, "They could control their turning without the rings, and bring peace to our home so that your daughter can return to New Orleans. But, there's a catch..." She trailed off and Klaus looked at her a bit worried, "I have to marry Jackson."
Klaus was completely stunned speechless, and Ophelia, who was feeling awkward, began speaking rapidly as though she was very anxious about the ordeal, "It's some sort of mystical ceremony, and an Alpha bonding ritual..." She trailed off, letting out a sigh.
Klaus turned away from Ophelia to look out the window, "Do you love him?" He asked her and Ophelia stared at him in disbelief.
"No, I don't. I don't love Jackson, but... at the same time, I couldn't marry him and still be involved with you," She paused, "You may not want to ever admit it without trying to compel me to forget, but I do know you still love me and I still...I still love you--I don't know, I should just--"
Ophelia couldn't finish her sentence without breaking down and walked toward the door, about to leave. Before she could, Klaus rushed over to her and grabbed her by the arm to turn her toward him. He reached around her waist and pulled her toward him before he kissed her passionately. After a moment, he pulled away and looked down at her, "Marry him." He told her quietly.
"What?" Ophelia asked him in disbelief.
"I love you, Ophelia," Klaus confessed to her, "And even if we are alike in some ways, you're still a good person at heart, unlike me. There is a light in you that shines so bright, it makes me feel like the man I wish I was. Being with me for all those years, it changed you. I ruined most of the light that was inside you. You're starting to become that person again. And as selfish as I want to be when it comes to you, I can't stop you from being that person. I don't deserve someone as good as you. Which is why I want you to be with Jackson." He explained to her, "Marry him."

Ophelia slowly reached up and caressed Klaus' face with her hand. It was silent for a long moment, both of them staring intently at each other. Suddenly, not being able to take the tension any longer, they both lunged for each other and started kissing even more passionately. Klaus picked her up off the ground and wrapped her legs around his waist before vamp-speeding them against the bookshelf, where he pulled off the jacket she was wearing.
She tugged at the hem of his shirt, just before pulling it over his head. As she did so, Klaus pulled down the straps of her dress and eventually moved them over to the bed, where he laid Ophelia down on the bed before climbing on top of each other.
Rebekah was outside with Hayley and Elijah as this occurred and found herself rolling her eyes, "As much as I'm all for that, do they forget that the lot of us have vampire hearing?" Rebekah commented, causing Elijah to roll his eyes while Hayley laughed.
"In Ophelia's case, I believe so, but our brother? I have the inkling that he knows exactly what he's doing. He just doesn't care."

Davina and Kol were searching through the compound in search of the paragon diamond. While they dug around in dressers in one of the bedrooms, which happened to be Ophelia's, Davina found an old framed photograph of Klaus, Ophelia, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol and Marcel from 1914 in the bottom of a drawer. She smiled and walked over to Kol to show him the photo, "Is this you?" She asked him curiously.
Kol took the photo out of her hands and examined it, a smirk forming on his lips, "I was a lot better looking back then." He commented.
Davina laughed loudly, "You wish!" She replied before her eyes locked on Ophelia on the picture, "What about Ophelia? You two seem close, but I've never really heard either of you talk about each other."
"Well, there's not much to say, really," Kol told her, "She was always my brother's girl. There was always a bit of flirtation on my side, but I was rejected on multiple occasions. She was a bit scared of me for time, too. She was the one who undaggered me in the 1900s when Klaus refused. After that, we formed a bit of a friendship. There was one time, though, she did me a huge solid. Back in Christmas, 1914."
The Mikaelsons were hosting a Christmas party at the compound. Ophelia, who was a white party dress, opened the doors to her and Klaus' bedroom to find Kol searching through his closet, "Must you always insist on pilfering before cocktails?" Ophelia complained, letting out a groan of frustration, "Haven't you learned by now how it ends, Kol?"
Kol peeked out from where he was standing to look over at Ophelia, "Nik stole something that belongs to me, Ophelia," He informed her, "I'm simply taking it back."
Ophelia smiled mischievously at Kol, "And you expect me not to tell him?" She questioned before turning to the door, "I wonder how he'll feel about you rummaging through his drawers."
Ophelia turned to leave, but Kol rushed after her to stop her. He vamp sped over to her, blocking her way, "Wait!" He told her and Ophelia finally stopped, "Don't tell Klaus."
"And why, pray tell, not?" She questioned him, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Because I asked nicely," Kol replied, a smirk on his face, causing Ophelia to roll her eyes at him, "Come on, Ophelia! Not even you could resist a face like mine."
"You owe me," Ophelia told Kol, causing the youngest Mikaelson brother to sigh in relief, "But, please do hurry. Oh, and throw on one of Klaus' jackets. He'll notice your absence if you're late."
Ophelia sent Kol a small smile, just before leaving the room and heading downstairs, back to the party.

Ophelia, Elijah, Hayley, and Klaus were outside with Hope, where Klaus had just lit a match to light the bonfire.
Ophelia turned her head to see Hayley and Elijah staring at her, causing her to frown, "What is it?" She asked them and both of them quickly looked away from her.
Just then, Rebekah rushed outside to join them, "Hey! Look what I found!" She spoke up excitedly as she held up a Polaroid camera, causing Klaus to groan, "I wonder if it'll work?"
Klaus sighed dramatically, turning away from Rebekah as she walked over to him, "Oh, bloody hell." He said to himself quietly, causing Ophelia to laugh.
"Come on, let's try it!" Rebekah continued on, "Hey, Nik, do you think you can cram us all into a selfie?"
"Oh, Niklaus is a virtuoso at cramming his siblings into confined spaces," Elijah commented, leading to Ophelia letting out a large laugh as she walked over with him and Hayley over to Klaus and Rebekah.
"Well, I'm just glad I traveled hundreds of miles to visit my mentally ill brother, only to have him insult me to my face!" Klaus replied sarcastically, causing both Hayley and Ophelia to share a look as they both chuckled quietly.
"Oh, come on, just take the picture!" Rebekah complained as she stood in between Ophelia and Klaus while Hayley stood with Hope in her arms, in between Ophelia and Elijah.
Klaus sighed and held up the camera to take a picture of the six of them together. Everyone in the picture smiled, including Hope, except for Klaus, who remained blank-faced. After doing so, the whole group waited patiently as the photo developed.
Rebekah rested her chin on Klaus' shoulder as she looked down at the developing photo, "Aw, see? I wish that it could always be like this."
"If wishes were horses..." Elijah trailed off before Klaus continued on for him.
Klaus sighed ruefully, "...Beggars would ride." He finished and the group all looked happily at the photograph, but Klaus suddenly sighed, "You realize we'll have to burn it. You want me to make a wish for the family, Rebekah? I wish it didn't have to be like this. But, it does," He paused, handing the photo to Hayley, "We can't risk it falling into the wrong hands."
Hayley and Ophelia turned to look at each other, both of them visibly sad. Hayley took a good, long look at the photo before reluctantly throwing it into the bonfire.
"No!" Rebekah suddenly exclaimed, "This isn't right. We deserve this. We've earned this." She paused, looking over at Elijah, Ophelia, Hayley, and Klaus, unhappy about their current situation before she suddenly got an idea, "I won't let it slip away. I know what to do to stop Esther."
"Rebekah, no--" Elijah began to tell his younger sister sternly.
"I'm going to take her deal," She informed the group, "And, when I do, I'm taking her down with me."
Rebekah and Klaus turned to stare at each other before Rebekah gulped anxiously.

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
