《Candied Heart-Fatgum x reader》Chapter Twenty-Seven

It had been a few weeks since that night with Hizashi. Surprisingly he didn't act any different towards me after that night. He still acted as a loyal friend and treated me no different from how he treated me before that night. He held up to his promise of staying friends after. If anything, his little crush on me started to fade. We managed to keep that night a secret between us both. My one-month return appointment had flown by like the snap of a finger. My doctor cleared me to get a job, so finding one was my issue.
Several hundred failed job applications later, I gave up in frustration. I felt bad about asking, but maybe Nezu's offer for me to teach was still on the table... I grabbed up my wallet and phone and headed out of my dorm room. Even though I wasn't a student anymore, Nezu let me keep my dorm room. You'd think he would've kicked me out when he saw the state of mind I was in when I returned. I went to the front of the school building and pressed the buzzer on the wall. The intercom made a dull static sound before a voice came through. "What is the nature of your visit Miss L/n?" The office lady was always the main problem with getting into UA High. "I need to speak to Principal Nezu about a Job offer he gave me." I could hear the clacking of a keyboard before the door made a loud buzzing sound. I followed the long corridors to Principal Nezu's office. It seemed like the halls were so much longer now. I finally reached his office and softly knocked. "Come in!" I took a shaky breath and tried to settle myself. "Hi, Principal Nezu!" He perked up and gave a wide smile. "Y/n, what do I owe the pleasure?" I sat down and pulled out my resume and handed it to him. "Is that offer to work at UA still on the table?" He gingerly took my resume and read through it. "I knew you'd come back around! How do you feel about being a Teacher Assistant? Aizawa has his hands full with Midoriya getting hurt all the time and Bakugou starting fights- Anyhow, he really needs a hand, even if he refuses to admit it. How's that sound?" I considered it and let out a short laugh. "That sounds wonderful. Honestly, the kid will probably be highly confused since I was among them as a peer not so long ago." Nezu chuckled and pulled out some paperwork. "Fill these out and give them back to me. You can start as soon as school goes back after winter break." I nodded and shook his paw.
The paperwork wasn't too difficult, the worst part was explaining my newfound quirk. My mother's quirk manifested, along with this copycat quirk. I just listed my quirk as copycat. Nezu looked genuinely surprised at my quirk and kept me in his office for the whole school day to discuss my quirk. He finally released me when his after-school meetings started. Since I had my newfound quirk, I didn't have to be put under 24/7 surveillance. I was able to go out on my own and not have to have any Pro Heroes up my ass. And so far there were no more sightings of the LOV. Shigaraki must've heeded my warning. I found myself in the diner Taishiro took me to before I ran off that time they were watching us. I ordered the same meal and waited for it to be cooked. The tinkling of the bells on the door caught my attention. I smiled seeing Tamaki and Kirishima. My smile faded as Fatgum walked into view. The waitress had them follow her to the table across from my single-person booth seat. Kirishima saw me and jogged over. "Y/n! How are things going? Aizawa told us you got away and were going through therapy." His energetic voice warmed my heart and eased my mind. "I've been doing really well. My therapist gave me the okay to get a job. You're looking at your new Teacher Assitant!" His eyes widened and his smile turned into a gleeful grin. "That's amazing news! So what's this quirk you got? Present Mic let it slip that your quirk manifested." He asked shyly. I could see out my peripheral vision that Taishiro and Tamaki were eavesdropping. The waitress came out with my food. I took the plate and walked over to their table. "Heya Fatgum, Suneater. I felt bad leaving you guys outta the conversation." Kirishima pulled out a chair for me and sat in the empty chair beside me. "So Red here was asking me how things have been going. I got a job at UA as A Teacher Assistant, I'll be working alongside Aizawa while teaching 1A. So Aizawa let it spill that my quirk manifested." Both men's eyes widened at the news. "That's great what is it!!" Fatgum nearly stood up in excitement. "My mother's quirk manifested. But only part of it. I have the healing properties of her quirk... And the quirk that was forced onto me is a copycat quirk. I can't copy any quirks that physically change my body. So I can't copy a quirk like Fatgum's, Suneater's, or any quirks that would change my body physically." I explained. "As long as I have the generalized idea of how someone's quirk works, and I've seen it in action, I can copy it." All three of the men before me stared in awe. "I can demonstrate it later on if you'd like. Once you three clock out." All of them excitedly yelled out a yes. My chest tightened at the sound of Taishiro's laugh.

I had told the trio to meet me on the training grounds at UA. Nezu wanted me to show him my quirk as well. Aizawa needed to see it in action before accepting me as his TA. After everyone had shown up and got seated I stood ten feet away from Aizawa, Midnight, and Present Mic. Nezu was perched on my shoulder, he seemed to be enjoying the view. "Now, since your quirk is a copycat quirk, we will need to test your limits to find out how well you can defend the students," Nezu announced, he clambered off of me. "You will fight against Midnight and Mic, then you will fight Aizawa. I need you to fight as if you are protecting the students." I nodded understandingly and cracked my neck.
Midnight and I were the only ones on the platform, we both stared through narrowed eyes. She had an advantage, she had multiple weapons other than her quirk, and she could release gasses into the air to knock me out. I jerked myself forward to gauge her reaction. She seemed to take the bait as I stood in place. She lunged towards me and I saw her pull out her whip. I dodged it easily and got behind her. I focused hard, remembering Aizawa's quirk. I forced my eyes open and kept my eyes on her. The gases from her quirk disappeared immediately and I was able to close the distance between her and me quickly. I pinned her to the ground. Nezu blew the whistle and I released Midnight. "Sorry if I hurt you Midnight." "It's okay, You're a lot stronger than you look." She walked off and I got a short water break.
Mic being my next opponent was almost scary but I realized I could just use the same technique I used on Midnight. Mic didn't wait for me to make a move first, he ran towards me and I barely managed to duck out of the way. He sucked in a deep breath and I shoved my fingers into my ears. His quirk was still loud enough to make my ears hurt. I observed him and sucked in my breath. I ran towards him and kicked him back, his body flew backward as he rolled on the concrete platform. I sucked in as much air as I could and shot his quirk back at him. My voice paired with his quirk was worse than him using his quirk. My voice made it a lot higher pitched and it broke some windows of some nearby cars. Mic writhed on the ground as he tried to block the scream I threw at him. I stood over him and planted my foot on his chest. Fatgum and his apprentices looked shocked. Nezu was more than happy with my performance.
I was terrified. Going against Aizawa was worse than if I had to go against Midnight and Mic at the same time. I couldn't use his quirk against him, this fight might as well be a fistfight. I was sucked out of my thoughts as a certain capture weapon was flying towards me. I ran off to the side and gauged my options. He wasn't using his quirk, his eyes weren't glowing red and his hair wasn't floating. I thought back at all the quirks the league members had. Then it hit me. I had to distract Aizawa long enough so I could use Compress' quirk and roll myself behind him. I slowed my movements and tried to distract him by talking. "We both know with how our quirks are, we both might as well be quirkless." Aizawa slowed down and kept his eyes on me. He still hadn't used his quirk yet. I walked over to him calmly. He took the bait. "So what? This is to prove your strength to protect the students of UA." I stopped a few yards away from him. He lunged and ran towards me. I used the compress quirk and dropped it onto the concrete in a little marble. Once I knew Aizawa was just behind me I canceled the quirk out and jumped up. I hopped up and uppercut him before he could realize I was under his nose. I heard the clapping of my colleagues and smiled. I looked down and realized I accidentally knocked Aizaw out cold. I bent down and heaved him onto my shoulders.

I dropped Aizawa's limp body onto the bleachers and joined Nezu. "Congratulations miss L/n. I looked forward to seeing you after winter break. Nemuri and Hizashi hugged me and they dragged Shouta back to the dorms. I looked up to the trio in the bleachers and grinned. "That was super manly Y/n!" I hugged Kirishima and Tamaki before they ran off to get to the dorms before the curfew was up. I walked over to Taishiro and hugged him. "What happened? Why have you been avoiding me since I got back?" I asked, his eyes trailed over my body before they were averted to the ground. He rubbed his face and tried to compose himself. "I-I failed as your protector. I don't deserve to take you out. I don't deserve to be a hero. I was supposed to protect you and I couldn't do that." I grabbed his hand and held it tight. "Taishiro, it's not your fault. Nor is it your Mother's fault. All that matters now is that I'm safe and here now." His eyes stared back at me as they filled with tears. "H-how could you forgive me?" His sobs were loud as he cried. I hugged him and squeezed him. "Hey, can I ask you a question?" His head looked up to me and he chuckled. "You just did, but go ahead." I smiled sweetly. "I'd really love to go out on another date with you. If you would have me, that is." His hands gripped my waist as he picked me up. "Of course! How could I say no to you?! But, I would like to know why?" I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck as he held me. "Because, you may feel like you don't deserve my love, but I can't bring myself not to love you. No one else can hold my heart as you do." I pecked his lips and watched as his face turned pink. "I don't want anyone else. I've tried going on dates with other people, but none of them compare to you. So please, say yes." His pink-tinged face turned even darker as he grinned. "Of course Darlin'!"

What do you wish for?
Norman hated his life. His peers ignored and bullied him. His mother nagged. His father was never home. Norman desperately wished for a miracle, but his prayers went unanswered. Until one night. **************************************** Note: This story is going to be very short. I would recommend reading it all at once. This story started out as a challenge I set for myself. I've recently felt bogged down because of the need to write more. That's why each chapter will be only 300 words long. Exactly 300 words long. At this point, I've pretty much written the whole thing, so I'm very confident that there will only be eight chapters.

The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable.
