《Candied Heart-Fatgum x reader》Chapter Twenty-Five

After consenting to the DNA test Endeavor had us go immediately to a clinic that could do it. I gave them the sample of "Dabi's" blood. Endeavor gave a little bit and we waited. He sat in a chair across the room from me. He kept his glare on me the entire time we had to wait. We ended up spending half the day waiting. But that was to make sure the results got to us ASAP. We were both concerned about the same thing. Tampering of evidence by the other party. It was way past lunch when the nurse finally came through the door. "Enji Todoroki and Y/n L/n?" Her voice rang out in the air and we both got up in unison to see the results. She made us follow her to a private room before giving us the results. "It appears that whoever Sample B is, is an almost direct match to yours Mr. Todoroki and they are male. So most likely a son. Congratulations." She bowed and left us each with a copy of the results. The look on his face was priceless. "I-" he was pissed but also highly confused. I could see his hand shaking as he held in his anger, he was almost to the breaking point. "Y'know, you never would've found out that your eldest son is still alive without me being as nosy as I am. And just a quick tidbit tho, Touya is much stronger than you. So I'd watch out if you two fought." I turned to walk away, but I was stopped by a flaming hand. His flames died down as soon as they made complete contact with my skin. "Thank you Y/n. I know I've been an ass about everything. Come by the house later today." He downcast his eyes as he kept his eyes on the papers. I gave a short hum as a response and left it at that.
"How was your day Y/n?" I shrugged my shoulders with a hum as my answer. "I need you to open up to me, I have to do a mental evaluation on you before you can resume a normal life." I sighed and turned to her. "My day was okay. I spent half the day at a clinic waiting for test results. I helped my biological father find out his eldest son is alive. Right now I am bored out of my mind sitting before you. Later I have plans to spend time with my half-siblings over dinner." I sat back and waited for her response. "And how did you feel about today?" I smiled and tried to think it over. "Well, I guess I will say it makes me happy to know I found my older brother. I am a bit sad since I can't reach him. And I'm glad to reconnect with my family. So overall feeling of today... Happy and thankful." The short woman smiled and nodded. she had small glasses on the edge of her nose, her skin wasn't too pale, but not very toned, and her eyes and hair were both a dull brown. These were the people who love to pry into your life for their entertainment. I won't give that to her. Her entire being and style screamed out bland. "Well, I think you did well today. You won't have to come back for a week. If you do well after a week, we will extend it to a month, and if you do well for both you will not have to come back." I smiled sweetly at her and analyzed her quirk. She seemed to have one of those quirks that could see people's emotions and moods. Her quirk was most definitely a good fit for her job. "Not that I don't like your company, but it will be a relief to be released with a green light to become a part of normal society." The woman let out a sweet tinkling laugh as she finished signing some papers. "Of course! No offense taken. All the Pro-Heroes that come in under orders from IA in the Hero commission say just the same thing!" I chuckled and took the paper slip she handed over. "Have a good one now! Come back in a week!" I nodded and left with a small smile on my face.

I stepped up to the Todoroki residence donned in a pair of washed-out blue jeans, a black long-sleeved shirt under a gray band T-shirt. I didn't want Shoto seeing me with my scars. They would upset him and possibly scare him and Fuyumi off. I pressed the buzzer on the house three times and waited. Nothing happened after a few minutes so I tried knocking. Nothing. I sighed after another five minutes and did the "Police knock" I banged on the door four times and yelled out. "Musutafu Police! Open Up!" Seconds later I could hear clattering and the sound of someone running. "I am so sorry officer-" Natsuo looked like a wreck. "Now that's just cold. I thought you were the police. What the hell Y/n?" He let me in and I laughed. "Well I buzzed a few times and knocked and no one answered. I figured it wouldn't hurt to say I was the police. It worked didn't it?" He chuckled and agreed. "Dad isn't here right now. Shoto is out with friends, and Fuyumi is grocery shopping. I can't give you an exact time for how long the peace will last, but enjoy it while you can." He flopped onto the couch and resumed his video game. "What do you mean?" I sat on the floor and watched him play. "Well... Fuyumi and Dad have been arguing a lot here lately. I think it started not too long after you were kidnapped again. Fuyumi blames him for being a shitty excuse for a Hero and father. Dad is just pissy in general, so he has been keeping to himself since Fuyumi refuses to drop subject." He shifted to a more comfortable position and sighed. "It's not anyone's fault except for the villains. But I will say, it would be wonderful to see Enji get his ass beat." We both shared a laugh and Natsuo tossed me an extra controller. "Wanna team up?" I plugged the controller in and sat next to him on the couch. "Fuck yeah! Help me pick out a character."
It wasn't long before we heard the door slam and saw Fuyumi trudge into the house carrying at least fifty grocery bags in her arms. "Fuyumi! I told you to call me when you got home so I could help!" Natsuo whined as he ran off to the kitchen. I got up and followed suit. "As I've said before, it's easier if I make one big trip and grab everything. Then we don't risk letting Jiji out!" A charming black cat ran out of hiding when he heard his name. He pounced onto the counter and lovingly rubbed his head into Fuyumi's arms. I cleared my throat as I stepped further into the kitchen. Fuyumi gasped and nearly lunged over the counter to hug me. "Oh my god! I am so glad you're okay! I'm so sorry that Dad wouldn't let you stay here!" I hugged her back and held her in my arms. "It's not your fault. I'm fine, and I do have a little surprise." She let me go and inspected me as a mother would to their child. "What kind of surprise?" I smiled at her. "Show me your quirk, make a snowflake of ice or something in your hand." She did as instructed and concentrated. I took my hand over hers and moved my fingers around. I morphed the snowflake into my hand and turned it into actual snow. It looked like a mini snowstorm between our hands. "Woah! Do you have an ice manipulation quirk too?!" Natsuo hung over my shoulder. I nervously looked at him. "Well, not really." I heard the front door shut and heavy footsteps stalk over to the kitchen. Enji walked in and I gave him a curt smile. "It's more like I have a quirk that can copy and manipulate other quirks." Enji's brows furrowed as he got ready to yell at me. Natsuo and Fuyumi watched as I shut off his quirk.

"So essentially you have a quirk that copies other quirks," Natsuo concluded. I nodded and looked at Enji. I held up my hand and made it burst out into flames before freezing it over with ice. I thawed the ice out and dried my arm off with a towel. "Yes. The setbacks to my quirk are reasonable. I can't copy quirks that change my body, such as zoan-type quirks. Some quirks I copy can do damage to my body. So if I were to copy our father's quirk and use it too much, I could end up having burns all over my body." I explained. Both of my siblings had stars in their eyes as they listened intently. "My quirk does have a lot of potentials. Once I see how a quirk works, I can use it anytime and anywhere. Such as," I paused as I thought of Touya's blue flames. They danced in the palm of my hand as I let it. All three of the Todoroki's in front of me were shocked. "Wh- who did you copy that quirk off of?" Fuyumi was squirming in her seat. Enji gave me a glare of death that could almost rival Shigaraki's. "Your brother is still alive. And I fully intend to put him through therapy and rehab so we can bring him back." Fuyumi started to cry and she pounced onto me. she clutched onto my shirt and cried. Natsuo held back his tears but still hugged the both of us. "I know how much you two miss him. He was my light of hope while I was held, hostage. He even expressed how much he missed you guys. I promise I will bring him back and make things right, even if I have to risk my own life." I squeezed them before they released me. "And how do you plan to do that? Touya is currently a wanted criminal. If he were to be seen by the public eye, he would be sent to Tartarus immediately." Enji spoke. He was right, but I had a way around it. "You seem to forget about my quirk. I could simply copy a healer's quirk and help heal the burns on his body. I could also strip his hair back to his natural red and help rehabilitate him. My therapist has a pretty decent quirk. It can help calm people down and help them to talk about their emotions." I explained. Enji sat in silence as he thought about it. He didn't seem too convinced that my idea would work. I did technically rat out his family issues to several other Heroes. But it was only Fatgum, Aizawa, Hawks, Midnight, and Toshinori. Toshinori was on his way out to retire, meaning Endeavor was already thrown into the number one spotlight. "The few who know Touya's mistakes know he was forced to do them, and I know none of them would rat him out. I also know that no one loyal to the Hero commission knows about his alternate identity, so there are no issues there. I can and will bring him back. He needs us and we need him." I stated affirmably. Enji looked at me, even if he was a shitty father, he still had a little bit of remorse for his actions. "Not to mention, if Touya will be undergoing Therapy, so will you. I will not allow you to get off scot-free with your shitty parenting Enji." He bowed his head and I released his quirk back to him. "Now, I need to get back to the UA Dormitory. Aizawa will kick my ass if I'm not back soon." That made Enji let out a half-assed chuckle. "I'll be back later this week, Love you guys." My siblings clutched onto me and said their goodbyes. I slipped out the door and let out a hefty sigh of relief. I honestly thought Enji would try to kill me over my plans.
