《Nick Wilde X Reader | A New Partner》Scruffy Boy

"You're hurt," Nick whispered with a frown, looking down at you.
You pulled away from him to see the drying blood on you... But, you looked back up at him and saw that he was in no better shape.
"So are you!" You fretted, reaching for his arm and examining it. He had slices from her claws as well as a few deep bites. You reached your paw up and ran it along his ruffled cheeks.
"I'll be fine," he said as he pulled your paw back down, "we'll get out of here and cleaned up soon."
Dust, who was much less distracted, had wandered over to the staircase and was looking up toward the exit. You handed the tranquilizer back to Nick who promptly hid it inside his jacket.
He then bent down next to Judy and removed the dart from her arm. He broke it in half and slipped it into his pocket. "We gotta get out of eyesight of the rams, we can't be shot again," Nick said quietly to you as he glanced at the subway car.
You nodded in response and walked with him, holding his arm gently. All three of you made your way to the stairs and started to head up them.
Does this answer why animals were going crazy? Whatever the rams shot at Judy sure caused the same reaction you saw before. But, like, you can't just go and challenge the rams! They'll just shoot one of us again!
And what about Judy? You shouldn't just leave her there... but... she may wake up and attack again. Maybe once you're safer you'll be able to formulate a plan.
As you neared the top, blue and red lights began to shine through the metal doors. The police were here? Oh, that's... kind of good. Right? We were here doing something illegal, but also, they'll be able to help Judy and apprehend the rams. OH, whatever. Your body hurt and you were tired. You just wanted to go home...

A large bison met you all as you reached the top and exited. Nick explained briefly the situation: that rams had attacked and then shot Judy with something, causing her to go crazy and attack you both. But she was now unconscious at the bottom and the rams were still there.
The bison nodded and then entered the station with two other officers.
As you stood outside, another officer came over to provide medical assistance. She carefully bandaged your wounds and did the same for Nick.
After Nick was done being fixed up, he talked to Dust for a minute. Then Dust scanned the area before sneaking away into the night. He seemed rather skittish, you wondered if you'd ever see him again.
Your attention was caught as the roughed-up auburn fox strode up to you. You felt sad seeing him all scratched and bruised, but, it did look kinda hot too. Like wow, what a scruffy boy. My scruffy boy! Who got scruffed up protecting me!
He stopped in front of you, his green eyes locked with yours.
"So, for next job," he began, as he leaned on a wall, "I was thinking we could..."
Haha oh geez what's next? Art theft? Bank robbery? Grave digging? High treason?
"...sell some more pawpsicles?"

Dungeon's Path
The only places I have posted the story and allow it to exist are on RoyalRoad, Scribblehub, and my Patreon. So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything. Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story. Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon. The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday. Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.

Wildcards: The Dread Captain
At the District One Invitational, a rookie eSports team defied all odds and reached the finals. Their underdog story and humble beginnings elevated them to worldwide acclaim. Their prize was to become the first ever players in the most exclusive VR game yet, Abidden. The Paragons never celebrated that semi-final victory. They lost a friend in that match, who never appeared online again. Ten years later, the gaming landscape has changed and Abidden with it. Helena is the last remaining Paragon. Her team now consists of celebrities, influencers and musicians. Abidden has been reduced to a shadow of its former glory, but is the most streamed and viewed game in the world, despite having only a handful of players. None of this matters to James Sylvester. Finally out of hospital, things aren't good for James. He's found himself crippled with medical debt, his gaming licence has been revoked and he's permanently lost his place in society. He now spends his days competing in illegal slum arcades to manage the repayments. When a high-profile job comes along, James gets temporary backdoor access to his blacklisted gaming account. After reactivating it for the first time in ten years, James receives an invitation that could change his life forever.
