《Nick Wilde X Reader | A New Partner》Subway

As you reached the bottom of the stairs, you felt a rush of air move past you. A rumble vibrated through the tunnel, slowly growing louder until a subway train flew by, sending dust and newspapers scattering into the air.

You coughed from the debris, but after it was gone, you noticed a floodlight pointing toward an old subway car. It sat farther away... and you assumed it was on some sort of maintenance track.

You scooted closer to Nick, brushing against him. He didn't seem to notice because he had his phone out again.

"So he's a no-show?" You asked in a hushed voice.

Nick mumbled a reply, "he's always been reliable. I think something's wrong, I'm gonna call him."

"Alright," you acknowledged as you pulled out your own phone. You tapped record on your camera and began to angle it around your surroundings. This place was spooky, but also kinda cool. You wanted a memory/keepsake of some kind.

Also, if you die, whoever finds your corpse will know what happened :)

Next to you, Nick rang up the cat and lifted the phone up to his ear. You waited in silence for him to pick up, but then you heard...

Brrr-ring! Brrr-ring!

A cold shiver traveled down your spine as the cat's ringtone echoed around the tunnel. It was coming from behind that one subway car. Uh... he's here? Hiding behind the car? Why isn't he answering? Has something happened to him...?

You looked over to Nick, who had a similar expression to yours. He lowered the phone from his ears and pulled out his tranquilizer. He aimed it toward the sound. You aimed your flashlight in the same direction as you continued to record.

Brrr-ring! Brrr-ring!

Your ears flicked forward as you heard faint voices: "...Turn the damn... off..."

Slowly, you and Nick stepped toward the subway car until you reached the end of the platform. There was a few foot drop down to the active rail line and just past it was the line the subway car was sitting on.

"...Show yourself!" You shouted, surprised at yourself for shouting like that.

But nothing happened.

You looked toward Nick who shrugged. "Dust?" he called, "Are you there?"

No response.

Then, you heard a loud shrill metallic CLANG from behind you. It was sharp and painful in your ears, but it sounded like it came from the top of the stairs...? That's not good...

Judy watched from behind a nearby shrub to see if the two would return to the surface. However, just before she could go back over to investigate, a new car swerved over and parked next to the station. Two rams jumped out and jogged to the door. One slammed the doors open with his horns and both ran inside.

Hopps jumped to her feet and radioed to the ZPD.

"It's Officer Hopps, I'm gonna need backup! I'm at the intersection of..."
