《Nick Wilde X Reader | A New Partner》You Quit (Epilogue Start!)

2021: YO it's me again. SodaKatze. Bet you didn't see that coming? LETS GOOOO
Your paws were sweaty as you anxiously placed your uniforms on your desk and the final words flowed from your mouth.
"I'm quitting."
Your manager, a boar, glared at you, "You can't quit! You need to give us two weeks' notice!" He yelled between his two huge tusks.
"Zootopia has at-will employment. I can quit whenever I like!"
At least, that's what Nick told you. You hope he was right.
Your manager huffed as he grabbed a check and scribbled on it, "Here, this is your week's paycheck," he aggressively slid it across the desk, "take it now and don't come back!"
You shook a little bit from adrenaline as you grabbed your check and walked out of his office. Good riddance! He was hot tempered and never even gave you the raise he promised!!
Pausing on the way out of the clothing store, you gave your old coworker one last goodbye and gestured toward them a few $20 bills.
"What're you doing? I-I can't take this!"
"Shh, look, just take it. I know you'll be stuck with extra work now. It's the least I can do!"
They agreed and you gave them a hug. You were making more cash than ever before now that you were partners with Nick.
With an exhale, you began your way toward the front entrance. As you pushed the doors aside you saw your handsome boyfriend standing by the edge of the side. He was leaning on a parking meter and was wearing his signature button-down shirt and tie combo.
"I see you're still in one piece," Nick said as he smiled and tipped down his aviator sunglasses.
"In one piece and finally free," you replied as you wandered over and gave him a hug. You took a deep breath in of his cologne and slumped against him in the bliss of his warm body.

"Haha, alright alright," he smiled as he patted your head, "Save that for later. We've got jobs to do." He lifted his sunglasses to rest on his head.
You stepped back and nodded. You watched as Nick reached into his pocket and pulled out a deck of cards. He nimbly slipped the cards out and began to shuffle them in all kinds of ways. His paws flipped and turned all different directions, "So, ever heard of three-card Mouse?"
"...Uh..."
Wilde flipped a card into the air and then caught it before popping the cards back inside their case, "You're hopeless then," he winked.
Hopeless, am I? Hopelessly romantic maybe.
Either way, you were definitely feeling playful and cheeky...
"Oh pwease daddy, teach me how to pway da card game," you said sarcastically as you nuzzled up to him and gave the best puppy eyes you could.
Nick's face scrunched up as he looked down at you with a furrowed brow and frown.
"Don't... don't do that," he said as he swiped his sunglasses back down. He grabbed your hand and swung himself around to start walking. You acted dramatic as he pulled you along.
"Oh, where are you taking me you strong fox?~"
"Yeah, yeah. Just get it all out of your system."
"I'd take you in my system," you laughed as he dragged you down the sidewalk.
You heard him scoff, "You're gonna get it later if you keep this up," Nick called back to you playfully,
After snickering to yourself for a few more moments, you eventually regained your composure and began to walk next to him. You weren't usually so outwardly flirty, but... you were on a high from just quitting your dumb job and... he's just so dreamy~

You recalled the chat you both had this morning. Today would be really fun! You'd only been to the Rainforest District once on a field trip. Now you get to ride a sky tram and enjoy a river cruise with Nick.
Well, you'd be working on the cruise, but it's still a cruise.
A mindless smile grew on your face as you imagined the day ahead. You both paced between the tall buildings of Savanna Central toward the misty canopies in the distance.
I'm having more fun with the characters this time around—hope you enjoyed!

Now That's Entertainment(a system apoc litrpg)
Julia Crane was an experienced police officer who'd thought she'd seen it all. When the world as she knows it ends and the games begin, she realizes she hasn't seen anything yet. Follow along through this system apocalypse style litrpg novel. Contains adult language, realistic depictions of violence, and other possible triggers. I've self published a couple of other novels, but I'm new to royal road so formating and posting schedule is up in the air until I get a handle on the site.

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
