《Between Two Worlds (Aizawa x Reader)》Chapter Forty-five: Interrogation

(Aizawa's POV)
By the time I got to the station, police already had Okuta in custody. As I walked to the interrogation room, Hizashi was waiting there for me.
"Ah! Finally! Took you long enough!" he said, "I would say you missed all the action, but the guy came pretty quietly."
"Has he said anything so far?" I asked as I stood next to him.
"Nah. Just the usual 'There must be a misunderstanding.' line, but otherwise, he's not talking." he said as we both looked at Okuta from the two-way mirror. He was seated at a table, with his hands cuffed, seemingly unbothered.
"Gentlemen, my name is detective Naomasa Tsukauchi. Thank you for coming." said a detective behind us, causing us to both look back, "We're just about to begin."
"I knew I was called here, but why him?" I said as I looked at Hizashi.
"His presence has been requested by your superior, who filled me on the situation." he said.
"Just in case." said Hizashi with a sheepish smile.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. If this all happened under different circumstances, he wouldn't have gone this route. But given that this man came after Doe, I don't blame him for sending in a reinforcement, at least for Okuta's sake.
"Aw come on, Sho! It'll be fun! We could be good cop, bad cop!" said Hizashi very enthusiastically.
"I'll just be needing him," said Tsukauchi, referring to me, "while you wait outside. Too many pros in one room could be seen as a means to intimidate. We do want this guy's full cooperation. Now, if you'll follow me."
I heard Hizashi whine as I followed Tsukauchi towards the interrogation room.
"Can you identify that this was the man that you ran into earlier this evening?" the detective asked as we stopped near the door.
"Yes." I said, waiting to go in.
"Great. Now before we go inside, I'm just going to reiterate that you're here to assist in nullifying his quirk in the event that he tries to escape or tamper with law enforcement. You're not here to ask any questions or intimidate the suspect. Understood?" he asked, his hand on the doorknob.
I nodded and followed Tsukauchi into the room with Okuta, who saw me and smiled.
"Ah! Eraserhead! To what do I owe this honor?" he asked, ignoring the detective completely.
"Do you know why you're here?" asked Tsukauchi who sat infront of Okuta, as I leaned against the corner of the room next to the door, arms folded.
"I'm afraid I don't." said Okuta, "I was just minding my own business, walking home, when a swarm of officers surrounded me. Not the most welcoming surprise, I'll admit."
"Can you tell me where you were at 8 o'clock this evening?" asked the detective.
Okuta laid back in his chair, looking up to the ceiling in thought.
"I can tell you, but I don't think it's any of your business. You still haven't told me why I'm here." he said with a grin.
"You don't think telling me your alibi is my business?" asked the detective with a raised brow, "You're here for trespassing on private property and illegally using your quirk on a civilian."

Okuta's eyes looked straight at me.
"Is that why Eraserhead's here? I would've figured it'd have to be something more significant than that for the underground hero to come into the light." his eyes narrowed as he chuckled and leaned in closer, "Either I'm just that good or he has a score to settle. So, which one is it?"
"Mr. Okuta, he's not part of the conversation. He's only here to supervise and see that this runs smoothly." said Tsukauchi.
"Too bad. If that's the case, then I'm still not talking. Either I talk with Eraserhead alone, or you can get me my lawyer. I'm not answering to an incompetent cop." he said as he leaned back again.
"Mr. Okuta, we'd like to have your full cooperation. Don't make this harder for yourself." said the detective, but Okuta didn't budge as he continued to ignore us both.
Tsukauchi looked at me and motioned to the door, as he stood up and walked out, with me following closely behind him. He shut the door and let out a sigh.
"What now?" I asked him, not surprised by how this turned out.
"It's time to get him his lawyer." he said, "I don't have time trying to convince criminals to do the right thing."
"With all due respect, detective, I can handle him." I reassured him.
"That's just the thing, Eraserhead. I don't want you to 'handle' anyone. Not in my precinct. Degenerates like him think they call the shots here. I'm not about to play into his hand." he said firmly.
"Then why don't we let him think we are? Even the best of criminals get lazy when they get too comfortable." I argued, trying my best to persuade him. I wanted to get to the bottom of this, and doing this the legal way would delay that process much longer than it should.
Tsukauchi looked at me with uncertainty. I could tell he was hesitant, and I couldn't necessarily blame him.
"What are you suggesting?" he asked me, his brow raised.
"Give me five minutes with him. That's all I'll need. Criminals like him are all about ego. Let me make him believe he has the upper hand. He won't be able to stop himself from talking." I said, hopeful that he'll agree.
Tsukauchi sighed and gave me a stern look.
"I'll allow it. But you've got five minutes. That's it. If you cross the line, I'll have you thrown out of here, and I will notify your superior. Do I make myself clear?" he asked me.
I nodded. The detective walked away to stand by Hizashi as they listened in through the speaker and looked through the two-way mirror as I walked back into the interrogation room.
Okuta's head lifted as he noticed it was me and sat up.
"I'm glad the cops came to their senses." he said as I sat down.
"You got what you wanted, now start talking. What were you doing on UA's property this evening?" I asked him, arms folded in an effort to keep them from wrapping around the man's neck.
Okuta chuckled.
"No need to get so aggressive. I was only just talking with your little lady friend. I didn't know that was against the law." he said.

"That's not what I had a problem with." I said, my blood already beginning to boil, "It's your intentions."
"Oh? And why's that? Because she's your student?" he paused for a moment, "No, no. That can't be right. She told me she wasn't part of the hero course. So why would it bother you?" I still didn't answer, "Is it just a case of favoritism or something else?"
The way he said that word made me instantly glare. He caught it and laughed.
"So it is something else! I wouldn't have thought the illusive Eraserhead had it in him to sleep with a student." he boasted.
"I would never." I hissed.
"Never, huh?" Okuta's brow raised, "So she's not a student, is she? I had a feeling. Not a very good liar, that little tart. Still, that's a shame. That kind of dynamic is just too appealing. But since she's fair game, tell me, how is she? Ya know, in the sack?" he whispered.
I tried as best as I could to keep myself calm, knowing Hizashi and the detective were watching, and knowing I could blow this whole opportunity if I didn't keep my cool. I needed to get information, and I wasn't going to get it if I broke this man's jaw. Even though what he was saying was getting under my skin, he was still giving me answers.
"What do you need information on her for?" I asked.
"What does the highest ranked school for quirks want with a civilian? What makes her so special to the likes of you? I mean, you obviously would know. I can practically smell her on ya." he said, his eyes narrowing. I kept my mouth shut, "Don't be such a prude. You and I can both agree she's a looker. I bet even moreso with those clothes off."
"So you want to know what UA wants with her?" I asked, seething.
He rolled his eyes.
"How could I not? Any interest of my clients is an interest of mine. It's what I do." he said sitting back, bored that I wasn't reacting to his taunts.
"And who exactly are your clients?" I asked.
"Sorry, can't help you there. Client privacy and confidentiality. I'm sure I don't have to spell that out for you." he said with a smirk, "Though I suppose I could give you a little bit of information if you're willing to do the same for me."
"Hard pass." I said unamused, "I don't negotiate with criminals."
"Your loss." he said, as he shrugged with his cuffed hands up before setting them back down, "I'm sure I'll find out what you're hiding soon enough when I get out. And I will get out, ya know. I was only just hoping to hear it from you first."
"You think we have something to hide?" I asked.
He leaned in.
"Absolutely. It's written all over your face. I think you're hiding more than you're willing to admit." he said, his voice low. I could feel a sense of unease with that accusation. As much as I didn't want to give it to him, he was technically correct. "You sure you don't wanna give me a little information? I can make it worth your while."
My eyes narrowed.
"Depends on what you wanna know." I said cautiously.
He paused before leaning in to whisper.
"Seriously, man to man, I just really wanna know...how good she feels. How she tastes, how tight she is. Tell me, is she a screamer?" he asked, leaning in on the desk.
"That's enough." I seethed with gritted teeth. I had about enough of his sick game.
"She would be much better off with me, you know," he said, his grin becoming more menacing, "I mean, with my quirk, it would be like the first time over, and over, and over again. Shame I didn't have the chance tonight."
I snapped and kicked over the chair I was sitting on before I walked over to him.
"Ooh, did I strike a nerve?" he taunted before I slammed his head into the desk, my quirk activating as my hair flew up and my red eyes glaring into his. He cried out in pain. "Okay, okay! You made your point! But it's not me you want. I'm just the messenger." he said, his voice raised in fear as he tried to struggle.
"And what was the message you were trying to send to your clients?" I said, wanting nothing more than to break his bones.
"An image. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, right? I share what I know and what I see. If it's good, I get a piece of the pie. And that pie looks tasty." he taunted under his breath, which immediately made me twist his arm just enough that it dislocated it. He screamed out in pain before he began to wheeze a laugh, "You honestly think you can keep that girl all to yourself? Think again, Eraserhead. They already know." he said as I slammed his head one more time into the table, causing blood to trickle down.
"Eraserhead! That's enough!" screamed the detective as he and Hizashi burst into the room.
I let go of Okuta, whose head stayed on the table since I had knocked him out unconscious. The thought of that pig violating Doe sent me over the edge, I wanted to tear him apart. I may have gotten information out of him, but at a serious cost to my sense of control.
"Don't worry, I'll see myself out." I said, my breath slightly ragged from the rage that brewed within me. I stormed out before any of them could say anything, and took off once I was out of the building.
I need to see Doe.
I need to be with her.
