《My Wife》Chapter 23

"Is everything ready for the meeting?"
"Yes," a woman secretary replied. "Everything is in order for the meeting next month."
"Good," the man replied. "You're dismissed."
The secretary excused herself and closed the office door. She came out of the room and went back to her office, squealing in excitement and gushing to her friend about the president of the company.
"Ootori-sama is just too handsome," the secretary gushed, fawning over her boss.
"Give it up, Ojima," her male friend said. "He's not the type of man you can just simply get. He's Ootori Kyoya, president of the Ootori conglomerate, the one that raised it to be ranked at the top one percent in the world."
"Hey, what do you mean by that, Hayama?" Ojima pouted. "I'm pretty, I have the figure, and I'm smart. Aren't I the perfect woman to become the bride of the one and only Ootori Kyoya."
"I'll agree that you have everything besides the brains," Hayama chuckled. "I doubt you can handle president Ootori's stern demeanor though."
Ojima stopped. "True...but I mean, he's got the money, the power, and the looks. He's like one of the few perfect men out there!"
"Didn't you know he has a wife?"
"Everyone knows that that ring is just an accessory," Ojima said. "He's still single."
"No, he's actually married," Hayama said.
"For real?!" Ojima said in shock.
Hayama sighed. "Do you never check his desk? The only picture he puts on his desk is that of his wife."
"It might be his sister," Ojima sulked.
"The only sister he has is Ootori Fuyumi and it's not her picture," Hayama reassured her. "According to my sources, she studied at Ouran High School on a scholarship and that's where president Ootori met her."
"You kidding," Ojima shouted. "So she's a commoner?"
"Apparently," Hayama shrugged his shoulder. "Yoshio-sama favors her the most and even members of the Suoh family, Hitachiin family, Haninozuka family, and Morinozuka family seem to like her. They say that it's because of president Ootori's wife that the Ootori conglomerate is at the top today."
Ojima was in deep despair now.
"Word even has it that she's a beauty," Hayama smirked.
"Stop it!" Ojima cried, not wanting to hear any more. "Am I the only one who isn't aware of this?"

"Basically," Hayama laughed. "Cheer up, now. I'll treat to yakiniku tonight."
"You better," Ojima said.
Hayama laughed and the two began hurrying away to do their job. Within three years as promised, Ootori Kyoya had raised the Ootori conglomerate to the top one percent with the help of his friends. In response to his achievements, he was named the new patriarch of the Ootori Group - though everyone had a rough idea that it was to happen. During the three years, Kyoya tried finding her himself but just as he thought, it was impossible. He checked everywhere and there was still no news. However, after three years of waiting, Yoshio had kept his promise and allowed for him to meet her. The three years was finally up.
Kyoya turned around and picked up the picture frame that was on his office desk and smiled softly, his eyes filled with affection.
"Haruhi," he breathed a sigh of relief. "After three years, I can finally meet you again."
He picked up his suit jacket and began making his way down the hallway to the elevator of the Ootori conglomerate headquarters. His heart was racing as he exited the building. People bowed to him but he paid no attention to it. His mind was set on seeing the woman that moved his heart the most.
"Kyoya, over here!" Tamaki waved at him with a smile.
Kyoya smiled and jumped into the car. The smile that had been plastered onto his face was wiped off and replaced with an irksome stare as he realized that it wasn't just Tamaki but the rest of the Host Club, too.
"What are you guys doing here?" he asked.
"Oh, come on, Kyoya-senpai," Hikaru grinned.
"No need to be so stiff," Kaoru finished.
"Since we're all going to see Haruhi, the more the merrier, right?" Tamaki gave a thumbs-up to Kyoya with a clueless smile.
That just irritated Kyoya more and he leaned back and sighed.
"It's been three years since we all last saw Haru-chan, huh?" Honey smiled, hugging his Usa-chan close to him.
"Ah," Mori nodded.
The six of them sat there in pensive thought. For the past three years, they had done everything together from meetings to expanding their own company and building their alliances. Their bonds of friendship were built on deep trust and now, they could leave everything to one another without worrying over about the consequences. The Suoh, Ootori, Hitachiin, Haninozuka, and Morinozuka families were known as the top five families of Japan. They each had signed an alliance with one another, resulting in the domination of Japan's economic and political industry. Now, they were on their way to the other side of the world, looking forward to seeing Haruhi after all these years.

Kyoya looked out the window and up at the sky. Haruhi, he smiled. I wonder how you're doing right now.
"What do you think of today's gardenias?" a man dressed in white asked the young maiden sitting not too far off to his side.
"It's beautiful," she replied.
"I'm glad you think so," he smiled. "Haruhi-sama."
Haruhi smiled. During the three years, she had grown much more mature and her features have grown to be striking. Her brown eyes were still large and mesmerizing but they carried a mystifying air, pulling in anyone who looks at them. Her light pink and luscious lips were slightly parted as she batted her long eyelashes. Her long brown silky hair reached down to her calfs as she sat in the white chair wearing a simple white one-piece dress that reached down to her ankles with a maroon red bardot neck top over it. A maroon red bow headband was placed on her head, complementing well with her hair and attire.
"It isn't too cold outside, is it?" Keith asked.
Haruhi shook her head. "It's springtime and the weather is perfect," she said. "I want to see this scenery a bit longer."
Keith smiled. "Then shall we have afternoon tea outside?"
"Let's do that," Haruhi smiled.
Keith went back inside the villa to prepare the snacks and tea for the afternoon. Haruhi closed her book and looked at the scenery around her, breathing in the clear air of Switzerland. Two years ago, she had woken up from her coma and had been staying in Switzerland ever since then. She was informed about everything going on and from time to time, Yoshio, Fuyumi, Yuuichi, and Akito would visit her. Moreover, with Keith by her side, she wasn't bored the slightest. As for Kyoya, she watched him through the private cameras that followed him and so, it always felt like he was by her side. Needless to say, she was aware that the three year period was up and that he would be coming soon.
"Today's weather really is nice," she looked up at the sky.
She closed her eyes with a peaceful smile on her face as she laid back in her chair. Everything was silent except for the sound of grass and flowers as the wind breezed past it and the chirping of birds in the sky and among the ground. That was when she heard it, the chopping of helicopter blades above her. She widened her eyes in surprise and settled them into a soft but sure smile as a tear rolled down her face.
"I should've expected this from you," she smiled to herself.
"Haruhi-sama! Apparently Ky-!" Keith was stopped midsentence as he saw Haruhi stand up and turn around, tears falling down her face like pearls.
"I know," she said.
"Haruhi!" Kyoya yelled as a ladder was thrown down the helicopter and he slid down.
The two stood to face each other with tears in their eyes as Haruhi smiled at him. "It's been three long years, Kyoya."
He smiled. "Yeah. I made you wait."
"It's good that you know," she laughed, tears in her eyes. "You were slow."
"Yeah. That's why," he ran up to her and hugged her, feeling her warmth for the first time in three years. "I'll be staying by your side for the rest of my life to make up those three years."
Haruhi nodded her head, utter happiness showing on her face. "You better live up to that!"
"I will," he said, taking her face into his hands. "And you know it."
He leaned in and kissed her, planting a passionate kiss onto her lips. It was filled with the warmth, affection, and longing that they held for one another for three years and even though such a long time has passed, their feelings never waned. Everything started when he had taken her as his wife but this time, it was only the beginning. From now on, they were never going to separate from one another again; they were going to live a long and fulfilling life as husband and wife until death do they part.
"Fujioka Haruhi," he picked her up and settled her on his arms and grinned. "You're my wife!"
