"Listen to my heart go ba-dum, boo'd up Biddy-da-dum, boo'd up Hear my heart go ba-dum, boo'd up Biddy-da-dum it just won't stop, it go Ba-dum, boo'd up." Alijah sung as she cleaned up her room.
What she didn't know is August stood there watching her at the door.
She turned around and almost fell when she seen him.
He started laughing. Did she forget to mention his laugh was the cutest and sexiest shit ever?
Alijah stood there quietly. "Why are you in my house?" She asked him.
"Your brother invited the boys and I." August said. He took a step closer in her room. "I heard the music and he told me to tell you to turn it down because we handling some business."
"I bet." Alijah said picking up her bed pillows off the floor.
August took a good look at her ass while she was bent down.
She stood back up and placed the pillows on her bed before turning the music down.
"Happy? Now get out." Alijah said.
"What's this?" August said grabbing Alijah's poetry book.
Alijah tried to quickly grab it but August moved away from her.
"Give me my book." She said.
"Nah." August said. He opened it and started reading the first thing he saw.
Just because I smile doesn't mean I'm happy ..
I have so many different emotions sometimes I don’t even know how I’m feeling.
sometimes i just don't give a fuck... when i know that i should care but I don't . then i come off as a bitch
Sometimes I just cry cause I have so much bottled inside me, I don’t know how to let it out . I don’t know how to feel . I don’t know what the fuck to do … so I cry
"Damn you feeling like this?" He asked her.
"I write what I'm feeling so duh now gimme my shit." Alijah said trying to get her book.
August held his arms up while Alijah jumped trying to get it.
Alijah felt something in his pants and no it wasn't his dick. She looked down and saw the gun in his pants.
"Really?" She said pointing at the gun.
"Lah' baybeh that's my business get ya' some." August said.
"Well give me my book and get out my room." She said.
Alijah hated guns knowing all of the gun violence going around the world she was scared she'll lose somebody she loved.
August gave her the book back and walked out of her room.
Delilah sat in the cold ass doctor's room still vomiting. Her mother brought her to the doctor thinking it was just food poisoning from the Chinese food they ate last night.

"Girl breath." Delilah's mother said because she was throwing up so much.
Delilah sat up take a deep breath and wiped her mouth.
"Mama I don't think this is food poisoning." Delilah cried.
"My God." Her mother stressed.
The doctor walked in the room. "Hello Ms.Lane and Mrs. Lane." She said closing the room door.
"Is it food poisoning please let it be food poisoning." Delilah said.
"Well Miss. Delilah when was your last period?"
"Um last month on the first why?" Her mother answered for her.
"Well your daughter is 3 weeks pregnant." The doctor said.
"Delilah you out here fucking?" Her mother asked.
Delilah sat there looking shocked. She felt vomit coming up and let it go.
This was a moment of craziness and also disappointment.
Delilah didn't want to be pregnant and she already knew whose baby it was.
August sat on the porch of the trap with Vonte, Lucas, Jay, and Darion.
"Lord said we need to hit up this place on 23rd." August said blowing out the smoke from the blunt passing it on to Vonte.
"When because if it's tonight I got some business to handle." Lucas said.
"Nah man not tonight." Vonte said before looking at August.
"I've been asking can I finally do something with y'all." Jay said.
"Man what?! Nigga you not working with us. You too uppity and all that other shit. You don't even know how to work a gun. Get outta here with allat." Darion said.
"You right imma do something with my life." Jay said.
August started laughing. "What you mean you gonna do sumthin' with ya' life nigga?."
"I wanna be a doctor or something." Jay said.
"What kind of doctor?" Vonte said.
"A gynecologist."
The rest of them busted out laughing. "That's sad nigga. We really need to get you some pussy." Darion said.
"Man whatever fuck y'all." Jay said snatching the blunt from Lucas.
Lucas looked at his phone and noticed he had a message from somebody.
"Yung I gotta go." Lucas said standing up.
"A'ight catch you later man." Vonte said.
Lucas got in his car and left.
"Wonder where that nigga going?" Darion said.
"Ion kno' but we need to talk about this place we gon' hit up this weekend." August said taking the blunt back from Jay.
Laila sat on the bathroom counter waiting for Lucas to come back.
"Here you go." He said handing her the peroxide and paper towel.
She poured some on the paper towel and attached it to her face where the scratch was.
"Ion think that's gonna heal right." Lucas said.

"Me neither." Laila said. "I'm gonna look ugly." She cried.
"No no no baby you not gonna look ugly. You still going to be beautiful no matter what." He said.
"Thank you." Laila said wiping her face. Lucas took the paper towel off of her face and added a thick bandaid to it.
"Take it off in a hour so it can breath. I can't believe your mama did this to you." Lucas said helping her off the counter.
"Me either. It all happened so fast. Imma just stop telling her stuff because she always think I'm lying. I can't wait till I graduate with you and move away from this damn place." She said before sharing a passionate kiss with Lucas.
"August knows." Lucas said.
"Knows what?" Laila said. "About us?"
"No about my father. Well he said Lord knows but I'm not sure. Either they gon' kill me or my dad. I gotta let them know I'm not with my dad." Lucas said walking out of the bathroom going to his room.
Laila followed him sitting on his bed. "Tell them then."
"It's not that easy."
"So you rather protect a man whose only been in your life for five minutes than protect your own life?" Laila asked him.
"Well when you say it like that I want my own life, but if Lord already knows then I'm dead meat the only thing I'm doing is going to see him." Lucas said.
Laila hugged her man. She loved everything about Lucas. The way he cared for her, how sexy he looked, and the way he made love to her. She loved it all and if she was to lose him she wouldn't know what to do.
August stared at Alijah while she wrote her in her poetry book while Jay cooked. He invited him over to eat and chill.
"Will you please stop looking at me?" Alijah asked him.
"Nope." August said popping the p at the end.
"What could you possibly want from me?" Alijah said. "When I said I liked you that night doesn't mean I really do I was drunk."
"A drunk mind speaks a sober one." August said.
"You've been saying that but I was not that drunk."
"Stop lying." Jay said adding his two cents in.
"Whatever." Alijah said going back to writing.
"Until you go out wit' me is the only time I'll stop starin' at you maybe." August said.
Alijah looked up at him. "No." She said.
The doorbell rung and Alijah got up to go see who it was.
"Jay who have you invited now?" Alijah said looking out the window. It's like she lost all of the air in her body.
She opened the door seeing Zack standing there.
"What you doing here?" She asked.
"I came to see you babygirl." Zack said trying to hug her.
"Who dis'?" August whispered in her ear on the other side of the door
Alijah jumped. "How did you know my parents weren't here?"
"The car garage is up." Zack said.
Alijah forgot that when the car garage is up that meant their parents weren't home.
"Um my grandma is here though so I'll call you later." Alijah said closing the door in Zack's face.
She took a deep breath.
"Why youn' let him in?" August said laughing.
"Leave me alone. Look if I got out with you will you stop being an asshole?" She asked him.
August thought for minute. "Probably not but okay." He said.
Alijah shook her head laughing. "Dinner's ready!" Jay yelled.
Delilah laid in her bed thinking about the thing that was growing in her body. She wasn't ready for all of that and she knew August wasn't either.
"So whose the baby daddy?"
She heard her father's voice and sat up quickly. She haven't seen him in months since him and her mother separated.
"Why do you want to know?" She asked him getting out of her bed and walking out her room past him.
"Because I'm your father Delilah that's why."
"You left me. You left mom. You left us to live with some white woman and her kids who aren't even yours and now you want to act like a father. I haven't seen you in a whole year then you and mom decided to get a separation." Delilah looked at the man who she called father.
"I'm sorry Lilah it's just-
"Just nothing you cheated on mom with her best friend. She should've divorced you but no she still has love for you." Delilah looked at him in disgust.
"I'm trying to be here now appreciate it." He said.
"Get out." She said. "Now!"
"Here." He said handing her a few hundreds.
"What's this for?"
"Your mother said you not keeping the baby."
"I don't know what my choice is yet."
"Delilah I'm sorry." Her dad said before walking out of the house.
She slammed the door and locked it. Sliding down the door she held her stomach and cried. She cried like a baby. She didn't know if she wanted to kill the human being inside of her or have it and leave it or tell August.
