《Fat Forward》Choices

Several weeks had passed since Owen's decision to stay neutral about his weight. The freedom that came with being noncommittal felt truly liberating, and he had made sure to try and enjoy every moment of it. In all honesty, he didn't feel as though he made any truly drastic changes. He had ordered delivery more than a few times, would have two pints of ice cream instead of one, and had drank more soda than he could ever remember; but this was really nothing he assured himself.
The ring of the doorbell brought him out of his thoughts and he quickly made his way downstairs to pick up what he ordered from the local Thai restaurant. As he made his way back to his apartment and placed the food down on the coffee table he couldn't help but feel excited at what was to come.
"Okay, so...Pad Thai with extra chicken, two orders of cream cheese wontons, and a large Thai iced tea." He spoke quietly to himself as he opened each of the containers and took the lid off of his tea.
Admittedly, there had been a bit of momentary guilt at the extra food and drink in the previous weeks. Now, however, Owen only looked on hungrily with no second thoughts.
Grabbing one wonton in each hand, he proceed to eat both in quick succession before beginning to fork big portions of the Pad Thai into his mouth. The combination of the noodles, spices, and chicken tasted so good that Owen tried to shove even more in at once. He was so caught up in eating that he hadn't noticed some of the sauce running down his chin and on to his shirt.
Only after taking a moment to pick up his tea did he half-heartedly wipe his chin with the back of his hand. Looking down at his stained shirt, Owen simply shrugged before chugging a bit of his drink. He waited for a burp and was admittedly disappointed when one failed to follow his drink chug. Not wanting to waste more time he managed to shove a whole wonton in his mouth and a second one before the first was finished.

As he returned to shoveling in Pad Thai, a loud grumble from his stomach caused Owen to pause briefly.
Ugh, fuck. I'm going too fast I thi...
His own thoughts were caught off by the huge burp he let out. Almost instinctually, he grabbed his stomach and shook it slightly before switching to rubbing circles. He had recently discovered that a little shake and rubs would help somewhat settle his stomach and allow him to continue eating.
Maybe I should stop though...
He stared down at the Pad Thai, of which over half was now gone, and the remaining eight wontons and half-full drink. While he could eat the rest for leftovers the next day, it all looked so good; and he was still hungry.
Without much deliberation, the next two wontons were quickly eaten and the rest of the Pad Thai finished.
Owen slapped his now visibly swollen gut and gave a burp in response. He felt more than full, though he really didn't want to waste the remaining drink and wontons.
He slowly picked one up and chewed it thoughtfully.
If I keep eating like this, I'll go way past 177lbs...
He thought about his prior decision to do what he wanted, but knew that his mind often wandered to seeing those numbers light up on the scale.
You just want that right now!
What if you don't want it later?
You could lose the weight then.
A bit of back and forth came again, but Owen silenced his thoughts by shoving another two wontons in his mouth. He eyed the final bit of food and quickly demolished it before not even hesitating to chug the rest of his tea.
This time he was met with an enormous burp and began rubbing his stomach as he stared down at how incredibly bloated he was.
You fat fuck...
Rather than stating this with venom, the words were instead meant endearingly.
Owen couldn't help but give out a small laugh as he continued to rub his growing gut.

Also available on Audible! After centuries of endless wars, the three greatest nations of the continent have come together in peace. As a symbol of their cooperation, they have worked together to establish the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial, and Arcane Arts, a place where the best and brightest of each nation can gather on neutral ground and share knowledge, techniques, and cultures. Can the peace truly last, or is the academy just another proxy for the constant conflicts the three nations face? None of that matters to Lee Jia, a homeless young girl who's biggest concern is surviving the winter. But when she accidentally stumbles into the academy in search of a new place to stay, her destiny is changed forever. Determined to carve out a new place for herself and make the most of her good fortune, Lee Jia dives head first into the world of magic and martial arts. Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Cover art drawn by the incredibly talented Tsuu (TsurotArtistry).

Welcome to the world of Fantasiaia, a world full of magic, epic monsters, heroic battles and more! It's the new, cutting edge VRMMORPG world what everyone has dreamed about! And now welcome Markus Fickus, your average young man in our average and boring world! He was just an ordinary man, until one day, something changed his whole life. As he ate his breakfast on that fateful morning, little did he know that he would choke on his coffee and die—just to be reincarnated in the world of Fantasiaia! "Wait, what?" Mark said, looking up from his bowl of cereal. He didn't follow the script properly, and forgot to prepare his coffee. "I thought Fantasiaia was a VRMMO," Mark muttered as he made his way to his coffee machine. "How can someone reincarnate into a game?" Of course, what Mark didn't know was that logic and reason didn't matter. It was magic! Besides, everyone loves virtual reality stories and reincarnation novels. So why not have both? Mark shook his head sadly, but prepared his coffee in silence. When he finished, he looked up at the sky—and saw only the dull white ceiling of his apartment. He felt utterly cheated that the last thing he would see in this world was the peeling paint on the wall. "They are not paying me enough for this," Mark grumbled, then drank up his coffee. And then he died. PS: I found the cover picture on THE INTERNET. By no means will I tell you the artist's name or give any credit to them, but I let you know that the image is not mine.
