《White Fur || Chat Blanc》Chapter 9

It was almost like Marinette had forgotten about everything around her. All the terror and discomfort she had felt while being home alone. Instead, she happily went around her house cleaning and baking. Anything that didn't require thinking, something that she would be absent minded to. After all, she couldn't make room in her mind for something other than Luka.
She was even humming a cute little tune as she folded her laundry. Tikki was laying on her head, enjoying the positive energy in the room.
It was a nice change, for both of them.
Marinette eventually decided to go to her room and hop on her computer to check her emails. She moved her mouse to wake her computer back up, she had a bad habit of not turning it off. It took 2 seconds for the screen to brighten up. Her lock screen was the first thing to show. She typed in her password and the screen changed. Instead, now it showed her home screen and she realized her background. It was full of Adrian.
In that moment she began to feel so guilty and betrayed by her own feelings. She had completely forgotten about Adrian. How could she swoon over Luka when she had already decided that she loves Adrian?
She looked away from her computer and saw the pictures she had hung up all around her room. How did she walk in here and not even notice? Why is she acting this way? Had Luka put some kind of spell on her?
While Marinette was in the midst of figuring out her feelings, a loud bang followed by a flash that filled the entire room in a bright light. It had frightened her into looking at the window. She realized that, somehow, she also neglected to notice that it had started to pour outside.

Her mind flashed back to Luka. Did he get caught up in the rain on his way back? Hopefully he doesn't catch a cold.
She turned away from the window and walked towards the center of her room. Marinette shook her head vigorously as if to shake out the thought.
"Stop thinking about Luka!!" She yelled to herself.
The lightning flashed, filling up the whole room like before. Except she was surrounded by a shadows figure that blocked part of the light. As soon as she noticed she flipped around to see what was there.
There was nothing covering her window. She thought that maybe it was just her imagination so she turned back around and though nothing of it.
The brightness from the computer dimmed and then eventually turned off automatically after a certain time of inactivity. She then noticed how late it really was because of how dark her room got soon after all her light sources had been shut off. She decided that maybe it was best to go to bed and think about it tomorrow. She clearly hadn't been paying attention to a single thing
She moved to the side, intending to head in the direction of her bed, but she instinctively turned her head back to the window. She froze and her mouth opened as she screamed.
She was met with a pair of wide glowing blue eyes surrounded by a dark shadow figure that was intently watching her .
All in a split second, her scream was swallowed by another bang of thunder and lightning. Whoever it was, took this moment to move. They used the loud noise to cover up the crash of the window opening. The flash had blinded her so she couldn't tell that the mysterious figure had even entered and went straight towards her until it was too late.

It pushed her back into the wall, she almost fell limp from the fright and force when she made contact with the wall but they're strong grip kept her upright.
She shut her eyes and trembled from the encounter.
A familiar yet frightening voice spoke to her in a growl when only a moment had passed:
"Who is Luka"

A War Beyond Kings
Author: I made som mistakes early in the story that I will have to correct, but it will take some time. I have not abandoned this story, but I will be working on my computer and will not be active on royal road. "The elves start to leave their secure forest of Silvanwood for the first time in over two thousand years. Wizards are murdered in their own homes one by one to the dismay of the Jeidan Order of mages. The ancient ruins in Agnellia seem to have awoken after thousands of years of abandon. The flames of war are brewing, and the continent of Maëgor is about to witness a war like never seen before." Author’s note: This is a serious story, loosely inspired from many great works, which you will maybe be able to identify on your own. It is entirely original though. I’ll be working on this for hours every day, but that doesn’t necessarily means that there’ll be daily chapters. I don't own the rights to the cover image, and will immediatly take it down if the author requires so. Every chapter will be at least 2000 words. And congratulations to anyone who guesses on which language the chapter titles are written in.
