both your eyes widened snapping your head to the group wanting to solve the misunderstanding but it was already too late.

you watched as venti slowly shut the door quietly. a few seconds passed as you stared at the closed door in disbelief.

xiao had gotten up from the floor sighing outloud. he wasn't flustered at all not slightly embarrassed either. he was just annoyed to deal with the explanation.

you quickly got up and ran for the door opening it. "get your asses back here and let us explain!" you shouted spotting the group sneaking down the hall trying to get away.

"so uh... you guys seem pretty friendly with each other," childe started breaking off the awkward silence as you all sat there staring at the ground.

"absolutely not, we literally just met?!" you glared at him. "so? one night stands are a thing," childe shrugged and that was all it took for xiao to throw venti's hat at his face.

both childe and venti yelped at the same time for different reasons. "xiao slipped and just landed on me it's nothing like that you dumbasses," you explained.

"oh? if that's the case then what are you doing here at his place huuh!?" itto questioned with a hum.

"are you interrogating me or something?" you began to sweat, "he borrowed my brother's clothes and my brother wanted it back today so I just came by to grab it. got a problem?" you continued.

"and why does it even matter? just to reassure you, I do not want him at all. If you're gay and he's gay totally go for it I'm here to support!" you gave them a thumbs up.

"being quite defensive there buddy," you teased. after the topic of them interrogating you for no reason passed by, childe for some reason had a suitcase full of boardgames to play.

Venti dragged in xiao to play and it was such a fun time that hours passed by without you even knowing. You were suppose to head home at this point but this was way too fun to leave now.

"oh? what's this? I thought you were going to beat us," itto smirked at you as you had been eliminated from the game.

"just luck don't let it boost your ego," you rolled your eyes and he just laughed continuing to play. you leaned back to relax on the couch.

"isn't this fun?" you turned to xiao who's been quiet for a while. he was sitting beside you on the couch with his arms crossed watching you guys play.

"mhm," he agreed with a hum.

"has anyone ever told you you suck at board games? You've been the first one to get eliminated from each one," you provoked with a following laugh.

"If it weren't for me you would be in my place at the moment. Let's say I'm doing you a favor," he slightly raised his head looking down on you and you began to laugh again knowing you just got his competitive side to show.

as the two of you were talking and you dealing with his dryass. childe had snapped a picture and decided to post it on his story for everyone to see.

as the two of you walked back to your house in complete silence. you were just admiring him honestly. he was pretty attracted but he wasn't someone you would date.

today was interesting and full of events but in the end you suprisingly got along well with the person your friends were trying to set you up with.

to think it all started with a dump of water to the face. finally, you two reached your neighborhood.

"the others are probably trashing your place at this very moment. are you sure it was a good idea leaving them be?" you smiled at him.

"I don't know today has been too much for me I just wanna sleep," he stated clearly with a tired expression making you laugh since you could relate.

"too chaotic?"

"yeah"

"it's what you get for hanging out with us especially the others"

"looks like I can't hang out with you anymore"

"thanks for walking me home," you yawned going up your porch stairs. he stayed on the ground watching you.

unlocking your door you opened it stepping one foot in before turning around. "good night xiao," you gave him a genuine smile.

a few seconds passed by waiting for it back until he finally said it.
