Cooper POV

Graduation Day

man today is the big day, i can't believe it's been four years. it seems like time had just flown by. i remember my first day as a freshman. man i thought i was the shit, and i got knocked down real fast. especially on the football team. but that didn't last long. i made my place quickly, and it helped that i had Max with me. cause we made it work together.

but now i am graduating, and Max and i could be going our separate ways tomorrow, the day of the draft. we have no idea if we are going to be drafted to the same team. and this will be the first time in almost all our lives we will be apart. it's a scary thing to think about, but we both know that no matter what we will still be as close as we are now, if not closer. like the saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

but what i am most excited about is the fact that i now get to start living my life, the way i want. i will be moving away from my home town. and getting to see the world on my own. it's a really exciting thing. moms been an emotional wreck theses last few days. but i know that she's excited for me. my dad is probably the most excited, he told me about the draft and it's honestly going to be crazy.

i just know that i am glad Dylan is coming with me. i need her there for support, and of course she agreed with out any problems. which i am forever grateful for. the drafts are in Louisiana this year, which is so cool cause i have never been. so i made sure that Dylan and i are staying a couple of days after the draft. since we are leaving right after graduation, and i want us to be able to sight see. and just have a couple day's of stress free before it gets crazy.

cause once i am drafted, i will have to start looking at places close to my training grounds, and then my training will start.

"what's got you thinking so hard babe?" Dylan's voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"nothing much just nervous for tomorrow" which was true, i didn't know what to expect.

"well i can understand why, but you are going to kill it. so don't be nervous" she assured me.

"i know it's just so nerve wracking to not know where i am going. i just want to know" i hated not knowing.

"well only a little bit longer until you know" she smiled.

"ya your right, i am glad your coming with me." i truly was.

"i wouldn't want to be anywhere else" she smiled.

"are you too going to lay around all day, you do know that we have to get ready right" Hadley barged into Dylan's room. thankful we where clothed.

"it's only ten thirty, we don't have to be there till four. so we can relax a little bit longer." Dylan informed Hadley.

"fine but i am getting your butt out of her no later then noon. we have lots to do" she gave Dylan a look.

"alright" Dylan agreed.

"what are you going to wear tonight?" i was curious.

"well i have this really cute white dress, so i figured it was okay. but i mean no one is going to see it any way with the gown over top. well after when we go out for diner, but that's about it. but i don't care." she did have a point.

"i know i have to wear a tie and everything" i hated ties they where a pain in my ass.

"well i think you will look very handsome in a tie" Dylan smiled and kissed my cheek.

"well i still hate them, so you will be lucky if i wear one at our wedding" i was serious.

"trust me when i say, you will be wearing at tie at our wedding. between me, your mother and mine we will make it happen." and i knew that she was right.

"what's the need for a tie? i mean serious, all it dose is annoy the shit out of me." i grumbled.

"your so dramatic." she laughed.

"your so mean to me" i turned over so i wasn't facing her anymore.

she was still laughing, "i am sorry" but she couldn't stop laughing.

i couldn't help but smile, she has such an amazing laugh.

"i see that smile" Dylan teased.

"be a good girl friend and rub my back, i deserve it after how mean you where to me" i joked.

"your so needy sometimes" she joked but rubbed my back anyways.

"no i just like you touching me all the time" which was not a lie.

"i know you do" she admits.

"not my fault your hands just feel so good on me" i confessed.

"well you know, i don't know how much longer i can do this. because you never seem to repay the favour" she stopped her rubbing.

"well you never ask" which was true.

"well i shouldn't have to ask, i rub your back for you all the time. even when you don't ask." well she caught me there.

"fine fine, turn over and i will repay the favour for you" i rolled back over.

"how sweet of you" i couldn't tell if it was sarcastic or not.

"so how's Tristan?" she asked out of the blue.

"she's good, she's dude next month. so sadly her and Zach can't come. so my Aunt Ava is going to watch over them. while we are gone, i think Justin is staying too" I informed her.

since she was closer to her dude date, we moved Tristan in to our house, just until after the baby. then she assured us she had a place to go. but mom is trying to talk her into staying. but she's assured us that she can't. so mom has backed off for now.

"i bet your glad to have your bed back" i knew that she was sleeping on an air mattress for the last little while.

"honestly i didn't mind, it wasn't even that bad. it could have been way worse. and i wasn't about to make Tristan sleep on it, it's hard enough for her to get sleep. let alone on a blow up mattress" she was always so caring and i loved it.

"well i can honestly tell you that you are such an amazing person. the way you care for others. it's so amazing to watch" i was glad to call her mine.

Dylan POV

graduation day is finally here after four long years, of intense studying and assignments. but honestly i wouldn't change it for the world, i have loved every second of my college experience. it's honestly going to be something i never forget. i can't believe how fast it flew by.

"okay we have so much to do, since you decided you wanted to be lazy with Cooper. now we are behind" Hadley always the stressful one.

"Hadley is okay we have lots of time, i have already ready showered. so i all i have to do is hair and makeup. which honestly won't take me that long, now what do you need help with? do you want to look threw my closet for a dress? or so you have one?" i was hoping she would calm down.

"can i look threw your closet, i don't have anything that is speaking to me" she says.

"sure i have my dress hanging on the back of my door. so that's one only one you can't wear. but everything else is fair game" i made known.

"alright" she started to look threw my closet.

"oh this is so cute, and i think i have the perfect pair of shoes" she pulled out a beautiful almost burgundy coloured dress.

"that will look perfect on you" i agreed with his choice.

"alright, so hair time" she smiled.

i was just going to curl my hair, i didn't need to so some fancy up do. but Hadley wanted me to do her hair, so i didn't mind. i had the perfect idea in mind.

so it was now three o'clock, and we where both ready. we had to be at the school in half an hour. so that we could get our gowns and line up, but the whole thing didn't start till four. so honestly we where making good timing. our parents where picking us up though. cause they where going to come with us, so that we could get good seats. and they wanted to meet up with Cooper mad Max's parents. so that they could all sit together.

"alright and done" i set the hairspray down.

"we look great" Hadley was right we did.

Dylan's look

Hadley look

"can you believe it graduation day, this is crazy" i was excited.

there was a knock on my door, and i knew it was our parents. i smiled and we both went to the door, i pulled it opened and was suprised to see Cooper and Max.

"what are you doing here?" i was not expecting this.

"well we wanted to see you, since we knew it would be to crazy at the school. i also noticed that Max looked really nervous which was weird.

Hadley noticed this too, "are you okay?" she grabbed his trembling hands.

"ya i am okay" he smiled.

Cooper was smirking. what the heck was going on.

"so i want to say something" Max piped up.

we all looked at him, and he started.

"so Hadley i just want to say that your amazing, in everything that you do. your so kind, compassionate. and i couldn't imagine myself with anyone else, and i well will you marry me" Max got down on one knee and pulled out a red box.

"of my what, yes" she was crying.

Max was smiling and he slipped the huge rock on her finger. i was crying to and pulled Hadley into a hug, and grabbed her hand so i could see the ring better.

"this is crazy" she was whipping her eyes.

"how did i not know about this" i glared at them. i should have known i am her best friend.

"sorry" Cooper grinned.

"this is so crazy" Hadley was looking at her ring.

"do you like it?" Max looked a little worried.

"it's perfect thank you" she smiled and he grinned and leaned down to kiss her.

"did she say yes" I heard the sound of Hadleys moms voice.

"you guys knew?" Hadley looked shocked.

"of course what kind of guy would i be if i didn't ask your parents" Max smiled.

"how long have you know?" she asked them.

"mhm almost a month maybe?" her dad response.

"this is one heck of a rock though" her mom was close to tears.

"welcome to the family" Max mom pulled Hadley into a hug.

the came in after her parents, followed by mine and Coopers parents.

"honestly i thought you would be engaged before i was" Hadley looked at me as she says this.

"why?" i have no idea why she said that.

"it was just a though that's all." she says.

"well i am happy for you, i can't wait to go dress shopping. you are going to be a beautiful bride" i was so excited for her.

"i feel like it's all a dream and i am going to wake up" she couldn't stop looking at her ring.

"well it's definitely not a dream" Max was smiling.

————————————

after three long hours, it was official. i was a college graduate.

"we did it" i pulled Hadley into a hug as a i saw her in the court yard.

"we did and i am so proud of us" she was smiling.

"there's my honer roll girl, and the deans list. i am so proud of you, and you to Hadley both of you are so amazing." mom smiled and pulled us into a hug.

"alright my turn" Hadleys mom pulled us into a hug.

"alright, time for your graduation gift" Hadleys dad smiled.

"what? dad i didn't need a gift" Hadley looked shocked.

"yes you do, you have worked so hard. and i am so proud of you. and you deserve this. so here you go" he handed her a small box.

she opened the box, and there was a set of keys.

"you bought me a car" she gasped in shock.

"we did" her dad smiled.

"dad no way" she hugged him.

"you're welcome dear" he looked emotional.

we all made our way to the restaurant that we had booked for all of us. Hadley drove her and i in her new car witch was really nice.

i was so excited for her, because she had been working her butt of to save for a car. we where all sitting down when my dad nudged my mom.

"so honey your dad and i didn't get you anything flashy. but i think you will like this." mom smiled and handed me a pretty decided sized box. i opened it and gasped.

"is this what i think it is?" i was emotional.

"ya it's a scrap book of your life. from the day you born to today. i haven't finished the graduation page yet cause i need the pictures. but i will add it in for you tomorrow. cause all i have to do is add the pictures" mom smiled.

"i love it" i was flipping threw photos.

"is that you and Hadley" Cooper pointed to a picture of us, we couldn't be older then four

"look how cute we are" she was gushing.

"you had such a baby face" Max smiled.

this is just to get a visual of the pose it's obviously not the two of them. (one of the girls is actually the person playing Dylan.)

"that was our first dance recital i think" i voiced.

"you where so cute, what happened" Cooper joked.

i shoved him and glared "i am still cute you don't know what your taking about"

"look our prom" i smiled as i saw a picture of me with and Tyler since he was my prom date.

"is that Tyler?" Cooper whispered in my ear.

"mhm" i nodded i had so much fun at prom with him. that was our last big night before he broke up with me.

mom offered me a symbateic smile, but i didn't let it phase me, i loved Tyler at one point. and i still will he was my first real love. but i had totally moved on, and was happy with Cooper. and how would my mom know. because from the looks of it, she has been making this book for a while.

"oh my gosh look at us, our first time cheering at high school" Hadley changed the subject and i was forever greatful.

"what are we even doing" i was laughing at us.

"i have no idea" Hadley was laughing too.

"i really love this book mom thank you" i couldn't have asked for a more perfect gift.

"well it's a tradition, my mom did one for me. and gave it to me on the night of my convocation. and who knows you might do it with your daughter" she added that last part not so subtlety.

"maybe" was all i said to that.

our diner with the family was wonderful we had such a good time. and to look threw the scrap book just made it even better. and what shocked me was that there was even a couple phots of Cooper and i, in our football and cheer uniform. all towards the last couple pages. but still this book was literally the perfect story book of my life, it's something i will treasure forever and always.
