Dylan's POV

that's was the most awkward night of my life. Coopers mom kept dropping hints that i should date him. and Max's mom talked about Hadley. and i wasn't about to be the one to soil the news. i didn't even know if they where actually dating, as far as i know so far they where just hanging out.

and i was so glad when i left, i just needed to get the heck out of there.

"Hads you home?" i called out as i walked threw the door of our apartment.

"in the living room." she called out.

i kicked my shoes off and went to the living room, and Max was sitting on the couch beside her. with his arm around her. they where watching a movie but it was on pause.

"how did it go?" she has a questioning look in her eyes.

i huffed and flopped down on the couch.

"that bad huh" she chuckled.

"oh it was so bad, all Coopers mom did was hint how he was single. and that we should date. then all your mom did was ask about Hadley." i stated but was intrupted by max.

"wait my mom?" Max questioned.

"Yup, and i met your sister." i tell him.

"wait a second back up here. why where you at diner with my mom and sister?" Max looked confused.

"well it started out as just Coopers mom. then somehow your mom and sister came into conversation and they where invited. they have all been taking since that diner. and our dads where out golfing. so that's why the girls got together." i explained it.

"well why was my mom talking about Hadley." Max looked nervous.

"she couldn't stop asking questions about her, and how she was a lovely girl with a bright future. and that her son has the hots for her. where her exact words" i tell him. causing him ti groan and Hadley to laugh.

"she really said that?" Max looked horrified.

"yes she really did say that." i confirmed.

"well at least i know that she approves of you, cause she is very particular in who she likes" Max says.

Hadley had a slight smile on her face, and i was happy for her. she deserves someone who will treat her right.

"so what was wrong with Cooper? i saw him as i was heading into practice. and he just looked really down." i asked Max since i knew that he would know what's wrong with him.

A weird look crossed Max face, and i knew then that i wasn't going to get an answer i liked.

"he's just in a mood, it will pass" like i said Max didn't help me at all.

"okay well i am going to change out of this dress." i stood up and made my way to my room.

i just slipped on a pair of shorts and a t shirt wanting to stay as cool as possible.

i just finished changing when my phone buzzed, it was a call from a unknown number. usually i don't pick up. but i did give Shawna and Olivia my phone number, so maybe it was one of them. so i decided to pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Hey" i heard the familiar voice of non other then Cooper Davies.

"did your mother give you my number?" i blurted out.

"yes" i knew it.

"okay well buy" i was going to hang up.

"wait" he called out quickly.

"what" i rushed out.

"do you think we could talk? like in person i mean" he sounded kinda hesitant to ask.

"why would you need to talk to me in person." i was skeptical.

"please" he pushed.

"alright fine where?" i asked him.

"i will text you my address" he says.

"you want me to come to your house?" i didn't like the sound of that.

"it's an apartment" he tells me.

"still" i wasn't to sure about this now.

"i promise i will be on my best behaviour" there was a slight chuckle in his voice.

"fine" i caved.

"cool so i will text you my address and should see you in ten" i didn't even get the chance to respond before he hung up.

so here i am ten minutes later standing outside of Coopers door. deciding if i actually went to knock or not. but i did really want to know what was wrong with him. he just didn't seem like himself. and i feel like i owe this to him, i mean in a way he was defending me.

so i knocked on the door, and almost right away he opened it.

"you know i honestly didn't think you would come." he steeped aside so that i could walk in.

"well i was curious to know what you actually wanted." i said.

"well i wanted to know what my mom said at this diner" he says and i was totally expecting that.

"why? worried she spilled all your embarrassing child hood memories" i joked.

"yes i am" he looked serious.

"well relax she didn't, she was pretty much just saying that you where single, and come from a good family and would make a great companion for me." i tell him.

"gosh she's so pushy sometimes. this isn't the first time this has happened. she wants me with someone of high standings or in other words a family with money. so that we can combine the family wealths" he explained.

"well my parents want me with someone who loves and cares for me. no matter if they where the richest man alive, or the poorest. as long as i was treated right they don't cares" i tell him.

"mhm ya we where raised very differently" he tells me.

"well i already know that. my family doesn't flaunt there money around in other people's faces. i mean sure we donate a lot to charities and stuff." i said.

"ya" was all he could say and now i think i made him feel bad.

"so are you going to tell me why you where actually in a rush this afternoon. cause you would have to be a fool to think i would actually believe that bull crap excuse" i placed a hand on my hip.

"it was just a really stressful practice, coach worked us really hard. and i just needed to get out of there as fast i could. before i blew my top, i mean i am already on his shit list." he explained to me.

"well i am sorry, things got out of hand. and it's partially my fault." i apologized.

he looked at me, "it is not your fault one bit. it's the fact that Hamilton is a pig. and thinking he can get away with this all the time. cause girls don't put him in his place. and he didn't like the fact that you did. so he tried to take it out on me, to make it seem like he didn't almost get the snot kicked out of him buy a girl. it was all to protect his "image". so it had nothing to do with you." he did make some fair points. but i still felt kinda bad.

"well i am sorry that you got benched for three games" i knew it wouldn't help but i figured i should say it.

"it was worth every second of it. i have been wanting to knock him out for ever. so glad i was finally able to" he laughed about it.

Coopers POV

if i am being honest with myself i didn't think Dylan would show. i was really hoping she would, but i wasn't expecting her too. so when i opened the door and found her standing there i was shocked.

if i am also being honest i didn't want her to come just so i knew what my mom said. i wanted her to come over cause i just wanted to see her, seeing her and joking around with her just makes me feel better. it brightens my mood when i joke around with her.

i am also really relived to know that my mom didn't spill any embarrassing stories of me. it's so unlike her but i am not complaining.

"so what else happened at this diner?" i questioned her.

"max mom talked about Hadley, and his sister and i talked about cheerleading. that's really about it, nothing to exciting" she shrugged.

"well i am glad, i was a little worried." i was honest.

"mhm well i should go, there isn't really much reason why i should be here now" she looked towards the door.

"so soon?" i didn't want her to leave her.

she raised her eye brow at me in confusion.

"we could watch a movie?" i suggested.

"depends on the movie" she says.

"well what do you like?" i asked.

"honestly doesn't matter i like all types of movies" she spoke.

"even horror?" i questioned.

"there alright not my favourite but i watch them. why are you afraid of them?" she raised her eye brow.

"what no" i scoffed to play it off. but truly i was terrified of them. i refused to watch them if i can.

"oh you are, do you want me to hold the blanket over your eyes for you" she joked.

"mhm maybe i do, since that in-tells me you would willingly sit beside me on a sofa, and share a blanket with me. let's go i am ready" i loved to push her buttons.

"your awful" she pushed my shoulder.

"okay okay fine, just pick a movie and i will go make popcorn." i walked into the kitchen.

i came out after the popcorn was done and in a bag.

"you got any dill pickle seasoning?" she wondered.

"ya it's my favourite, but i wasn't sure if you liked it. i will be back" i went and grabbed it.

"make sure you load it up." she informed me.

i nodded sat down beside her and then reached to grab the popcorn off the table. then sprinkled in the seasoning.

"tastes check" i tell her.

"mhm little more" she noted.

i nodded then sprinkled more and decided that was enough.

"so what did you decided on?" i wanted to know.

"well i decided on a classic movie. one of my all times favourite" she informed me.

"okay which is?" i asked.

"Grease" she dropped the bomb.

"what! of all the movies ever made that's your favourite?" i was shocked.

"it's a classic, no shh and watch." she reached for popcorn.

i just chuckled i couldn't even understand what was happing right now. but i wasn't going to complain.
