Dylan POV

"ugh" i screamed in frustration.

"woah what's wrong?" Hadley walked into my room.

"what's wrong? i will tell you what's wrong. Cooper Davis won't leave me the hell alone. that's what's wrong" i ranted.

"okay? and not seeing the problem here?" Hadley didn't get it. this is one one the many ways that we are different.

"is so annoying i keep telling him i am not interested. but he keeps following me when ever he sees me. i mean he's such an arrogant jerk it's not even funny. i mean he uses girls and he doesn't even care. in fact he finds it fun. well i don't find it fun, not one bit." i huffed.

"well i am sorry i don't know how to help, maybe i can talk to him? get him to leave you alone?"she suggested.

"oh my gosh i would love you if you did that" i was appreciative.

"okay i will do it tomorrow but you love me anyways" she says.

i didn't get to reply, because my phone started ringing. it was my mom so i knew i had to pick it up.

"hi mom" i smiled i haven't talked to her in a while.

"hi honey, how's school?"she asked.

"so good" it was true my classes and cheer where amazing. but i just wish cooper would leave me alone.

"that's great, and i know i already told you. but i am so proud of you for getting the captain position. it's something i wish i got to do my self when i was on the cheerleading team" mom tells me.

"thanks mom, how's dad?" i wondered.

"he's good he's so excited he can't wait to see you on Friday" mom informed me.

"Friday? what's happening Friday" i was confused.

"don't tell me you forgot that it's the aluminum diner." mom didn't sound impressed.

"that's this Friday? i thought it was next Friday" i defended.

"no it's this one coming up" she tells me.

"well i wrote the wrong date down. but can i just ask. why do i have to go? i mean it's for you and dad to catch up with the old gang." i didn't really want to go.

"because you do, besides all the others are bringing there children who are currently enrolled. it's a tradition, so you might actually know some people. and you can bring Hadley along with you, that way you won't be totally board." mom didn't give any room to argue.

"fine i will ask her to come along. i guess i will see you Friday" i tried not to sound grumpy.

"alright dear, i love you talk later alright."

"love you to mom, say hi to dad for me" i said then hung up the phone.

"what's happing on Friday?" Hadley looked at me for answers.

"it's that stupid diner thing. i have to go cause apparently it's tradition to bring your kids if they are attending Alabama University. it's so dumb but anyways will you come with me?" i really wanted her to say yes i didn't want to go alone.

"of course i will, free food and drinks." of course that's the only reason she would come.

"great we can go shopping, cause i need a new dress." i knew mom would kill me if i didn't look presentable.

"oh shopping so game" Hadley clapped in joy.

"plus i have gift cards to this really nice boutique, from grandma. so go all out cause this dress is on me." i knew she would resist she hates it, but i am not taking no for and answer.

"Dyl i can't let you do that." like i said she resisted.

"Hadley Ava Jennings, i am not taking no for an answer. so go grab your shoes and don't complain" i was stern.

"Dylan seriously okay" she pushed.

"Hadley this isn't my money, it's my grandmas. and you can repay me by buying my lunch" i grinned.

"fine but i am picking where we eat." she caved.

"good now go get your shoes on. we have dressed to find." i stated.

Cooper POV

"Dude it's been a week already give it up" Max plopped down on the sofa.

"i am close i can feel it, i just have to push a little more" i was determined.

"dude it's getting sad, watching you chase after this girl. when clearly she has no interest in you what so ever." Max claimed.

"i still have a couple tricks up my sleeve that should work." i was hopeful.

"can i just ask, what is it about this girl? i mean i have never seen you chase after a girl this hard" Max questioned.

"i don't know she just has this fire in her, she's so different." i tell him.

"so you think you actually might like her? and i mean like actually like like her?" his eyes where wide.

"no way man, definitely not. i just enjoy the thrill of the chase" i can't believe he would even suggest that.

"mhm okay" he didn't look convinced.

"whatever we have more important things to worry about. like who's your date to this Alumni diner thing?" i asked him.

"i am not taking a date, going solo. that way i can see who's all available." he says

"your parents want you to go alone so they can set you up?" i asked.

"yup pretty much, they want me to be with someone of great success" he rolled his eyes.

"well my parents tried that already with me. but they stopped when i told them to give it up." i knew they wanted me with a girl from a nice family. preferably a family with money so that we can blend the money together that's just how they are.

"it should be interesting to see our dads with all there football buddies" i knew Max was joking.

"honestly all my dad has been talking about the last couple days is about how he can't wait for the team to get back together. it's getting annoying, i mean we get it dad just move on." i was so over this diner and it hasn't even happened yet.

"i know man, my dad even showed me all his collage photos of the guys. and told me all the stores about the glory days." Max was annoyed.

"dude let's go get some pizza i am starving." i decided to change the subject.

"totally, you can drive" Max jumped up.

i didn't argue, just grabbed the keys to my dodge ram 1500 sport.

we pulled up to the pizza restaurant, and it was crazy busy. but i mean it's Saturday lunch rush. so i guess i should have expected it.

"Dude it's so crazy, we will never get a table here" Max grumbled.

"table for two" i tell the hostess.

"would you like a table or a booth?" she asked us.

i looked at Max, i didn't care. "booth" he tells her.

"alright just give us a couple minutes we are just having one cleaned alright" she tells us with a bright smile.

"thanks" i smiled back and then Max and i moved off to the side, so we didn't block people who where coming in.

"we got lucky" Max says.

"maybe" i shrugged.

"oh god Dyl did you see the look on his face." i turned around and walking threw the door was non other then Dylan.

"ya-" she started but stopped when she saw me.

"hey there girls" i offered them my charming smile.

"are you stocking me or something? because lately you always seem to be around" she crossed her arms over her chest.

"listen doll face, we where here first. so if anyone is following anyone it's you following me." i was trying to get a rise out of her.

"ugh" she groaned.

"your table is ready" his hostess called out to Max and i.

"bye laddies" i turned to follow Max.

"we should ask them to join us, cause i doubt they will get a table. plus we have a booth so there will be room." Max suggested.

"your brilliant" i patted his shoulder.

"you ladies want to join us? we have a booth so it will have plenty of room." Max called out to the girls.

Hadley looked like she wanted to jump at the chance, but she looked at Dylan. and her smiled dropped.

"No way" Dylan was sturn.

"come on Dyl, there are no tables. we will be waiting for ever." Hadley pushed.

Dylan looked around, then sighed. "fine but we are sitting on the same side" she caved.

"Deal" Hadley smiled.

so Dylan and Hadley sat on one side, and Max and i on the other side. i also noticed how she made sure that Hadley was sitting across from me. mhm she's smart.

"so what's everyone want to drink." the waiter asked us.

we all ordered pop besides Dylan, she got a water.

"not a pop drinker?" i wondered.

"no i don't like the fizz" she wrinkled her nose in distaste.

i have never heard of that before, but i guess it was a valid reason. the waiter came back with our drinks moments later. then asked us if we where ready to order.

Max and i where getting our usual order. we shared a extra large meat lovers pizza. with a barbecue sauce base. while the girls each order two slices. Dylan going with a Hawaiian, and Hadley going with a classic cheese.

"so you girls ready for the game next Friday?" Max made conversation.

"ya i am super excited, i missed cheering over the summer." Hadley was excited.

"mhm" Dylan didn't look up from staring down at her lap.

"what about you?" Hadley asked.

"oh ya it's great, we got some strong new players this year. so the team is pretty well rounded." Max says.

"that's exciting" Hadley says.

"alright guys here's your food." the waiter starts to place our food down.

"thanks" Max nodded at him.

"enjoy" he gives Dylan one last look before he walked away. leaving me with this weird feeling inside.
