《Hero Of Olympus》I'm promoted

The next morning, my father teleported us to Olympus. After explaining to Zeus my confusing memory gap after going to Tartarus, appearing in the deserted city and then being kidnapped by Pontus, the gods were debating on what to do with me.

"His power has almost tripled," Ares said.

"Which means more cereal," Demeter added.

Athena and Zeus locked eyes and seemed to come to a conclusion. I was preparing for the worst but was surprised by what Zeus said.

"You have fought for us boy. You were willing to go against a Primordial to defend us. Some of us ourselves can't even decide loyalties but you have a set an example for us all," he said glancing at Ares. "For this, we bestow a new tittle upon you. You now have the official tittle of Hero of Olympus. You will be summoned by the gods to defend us if ever required and nothing more than that," he said, glancing at Aphrodite who looked disappointed.

"We're reopening Olympus but the camps will remain closed," Hera added.

I nodded and let out a breath I didn't realise I had been holding.

A lot of the gods looked surprised. It was probably because Zeus decided not to kill me.

"Well that's all for now," my father said and all the gods started to teleport away one by one.

My dad gave me a warm smile. "I'm proud of you Percy. Stay on Olympus, that way no monster or other being can kidnap you."

I nodded and walked out of the throne room as my dad dissolved into sea-mist.

Hephaestus walked over and threw a measuring tape at me.

I went to catch it but it unflurred itself and started measuring my neck, chest, height and shoe size.

"Come," he said to me and proceeded to walk out of the throne room.

We kept walking until we were in front of a massive Greek style building with a vent on the top towards the east of Olympus.

Hephaestus strolled through the front door which slid up for him.

I followed quickly as the door shut behind me.

A was startled as seven huge metalic dogs rushed towards us.

Hephaestus chuckled and dropped a few screws and bolts on the ground, which the dogs crunched on.

The god caught my startled expression and grunted. "Automations are easier to deal with rather than biological life forms."

"Fair enough," I muttered.

The god of fire and forgery pulled out a sizzling hot block of what I'm guessing was celestial bronze, and smashed it on an anvil.

He proceeded to flatten by repeatedly hitting it with a hammer.

He then broke it into a few pieces and proceeded to start hitting it again. This time however, the bronze was starting to have slight folds.

After a few minutes he threw the pieces into a tub with some liquid which made my knees feel heavy. Liquid from the river Lethe.

He then pulled it out and dipped into another tub containing what I'm guessing was Styx water because of the murky colour

He then grabbed a few small pieces of bronze from what he had broken and made a few thin strands.

These strips of bronze were then welded to connect two pieces of bronze and then bent. I realised that it was armour of some kind.

He proceeded to toss it to me.

I caught it and the first thing I noticed was how light it was. I put it on and it fit perfectly. It felt really warm but I could bear it.

Hephaestus seemed to be satisfied and gave a small smile.

I on the other hand was in complete awe. There were ripple patterns all over the bronze. It looked like someone had spent days working on it. It was a piece of art.

"Wow!" I whispered.

"You can teach my kids some new tricks now," the god said with a smirk.

"Come on now," he said, not waiting for a response. "We're going to one of my old volcanoes which is infested with Telkines and other allies of Oceanus.

I pulled out Riptide and nodded at Hephaestus.

The god looked at my sword and had a glint in his eyes.

"Pick up those shrapnels," he said, pointing towards a few bits and pieces of bronze near the anvil.

I picked them up and winced at the heat.

"Throw them in the Styx water and swipe your sword through it."

I threw the pieces in the Styx and immediately swiped sword through the water and made sure to avoid the splash.

"Dip it in the Lethe."

I dipped in the Lethe till the hilt and removed it after a few seconds.

I looked at my sword and gasped at the wave like patterns on my blade. Each crest of the wave seemed to be as sharp as the sword itself. The flat of the blade was nearly as deadly as the edge now.

Hephaestus tossed me a black jacket, which I put on after some confusion on why I would need a jacket when I had armour on.

The god dissolved into flames, which engulfed me and we reappeared underwater, in front of a massive volcano.

"The axial seamount," Hephaestus said. "It was one of my favorite underwater forges. I used to even have a few Cyclops helping me here."

"What happened?"

"Oceanus and his ancient sea monsters invaded it and took over it back in 2015. It caused a huge eruption."

I looked towards the volcano and shuddered. The water around was really hot and could feel the heat rippling through the water.

"What do we do?" I asked.

The god of forgery though for a while. "There are some seriously valuable ores here so we need to take it back under our control. I'll go into the heart of the volcano while you finish off all the monsters." With that, the god burst into flames and dissapeared.

Now look here, I've never been too good at taking on an entire army despite having a few lucky moments here and there. I was really contemplating on whether or not I should do this.

I threw logic out of the window and zoomed towards a bubbling crater near me with Riptide ready.

The view inside was beautiful. There was magma flowing below me along with some pouring down from gaps in the uper levels of the crust.

I spotted a Telkines and swiped through them before they could make any noise.

I spotted a huge octopus with it's back towards me and zoomed towards it. I dived underneath it and drove my sword right into it's abdomen, turning it to dust.

I moved down deeper into the volcano and froze.

There was an army of atleast fifty huge monsters working on a long metal glowy blade.

I knew an earthquake now would cause a tsunami in the Atlantic so I needed to find another way to kill all these monsters. Some of them were huge and had scales or armour on them.

Well I was going to be demigod pancake in five seconds if I didn't think quick.

I couldn't hope for much so I willed the water to form a whirlpool and restrain all the things there. I had little hope of doing anything. A few smaller monsters were sandwiched between the bigger monsters and disintegrated.

Luckily, a flaming hammer flew into the clump of monsters and blew them up. I'm guessing that was Hephaestus' splash damage weapon.

"I have whatever I need, I'm flooding the forge with magma," the god of volcanoes said from behind me. "I don't want to deal with the guardian."

I just shrugged as the water started to become warmer and lava flooded the lower parts of the forge.

Just when I thought our job was over, I heard laughter behind me.

Hephaestus and I turned around to see a massive titan. He was atleast 15 feet tall and held a huge club with the grip similar to that of a snake.

Hephaestus and I froze. We both knew who it was. Oceanus.

"When you said guardian, you didn't mean the titan right?" I asked Hephaestus.

"No," the god said quietly.

"Oh no he's dead," the titan said casually. "Can't have them slacking on the job can we?"

I blue ring seemed to form around us as he spoke. I'm guessing it's to prevent us from escaping.

Ah we're toast.
