《Perseus Jackson: A New Purpose》Goodbye Mortals

The past two months have been the best of my life. I've gotten close to all of my siblings and had an encounter with quite a few primordials, who keep popping in and out of the mansion of Night. I've even become closer to Tartarus and convinced him to release Bob and Damasen.

Today, I was just finished with my training with dad (Erebus) and was free for a bit so I decided to visit Hemera.

"Hey sis," I greeted her.

"Hello Percy, I'd like you to meet my husband Aether," she said, pointing to the guy sitting next to her. He had startling white hair with white glowing eyes that made them look like miniature suns.

He gave me a grin, "hello Perseus, I've heard about you, nice to know I have another brother," he exclaimed cheerfully.

"Wait a minute," I said, trying to comprehend what he just told me, "you're my brother?"

He nodded. "And Hemera is my sister... ," I said, trying to connect the dots.

He smirked as he understood what I'm getting at, "We primordials don't really have DNA, Percy. When we were born, we were just in the form of light and power."

"He claims he was the brightest," Hemera said with a smirk, clearly unconvinced.

"I am!" he protested.

"So... you guys wanna hang out?" I asked them, not sure what to expect.

"Sure bro," Aether exclaimed. Hemera nodded in response, rolling her eyes in the process.

We were just leaving the mansion when both Aether and Hemera stopped dead in their tracks.

"We need to go brother, we have a meeting with the other Primordials," Hemera said.

"Alright, see ya later," I said. The two disappeared in a bright flash.

I decided to go up into the mortal world and speak to my mortal parents. I teleported to their cabin near Anchorage. I knocked on the door.

I heard shuffling on the other side and soon the door was opened by me mom. "Hey mom," I greeted.

"Hello dear," my mom replied as I gave her and Paul a hug each.

"Percy," my mom said, "I think the gods are looking for us".

"Yeah," I admitted, "they probably figured out that since you were no longer in the United States, I would have moved you to the land beyond the gods."

"Percy," my mom said, looking a bit nervous, "I think it's best if you don't come here and see us. Your power invites challenge and challenge invites Olympus and that endangers us and you soon to be born sister," she said.

Although what she said was true, it hurt.

To hear that coming from my own mother was just painful.

"Alright mom," I said, trying to hold back the tears. "Please call my name if you ever need me. Goodbye."

I then dissolved into the shadows and appeared back in my room. That's when the wall broke and the tears started. I don't know how long I cried but it was probably enough for Erebus, no... dad, to come to check on me.

"Hey Perseus, are you alright?"

I shook my head and told him what happened. He smiled, "Don't worry Percy, they're just mortals. Their civilization will just fly past in the blink of an eye. Don't fret about them. You have us," he said.

"Yeah. Thanks Dad", I replied. He simply gave me a soft smile and hugged me.

I guess this was me done with the mortal world. I had nothing left there. My friends have all probably been swayed by the Olympians, my parents don't want me, and the campers have probably forgotten that I ever existed.

I was ready to forget about them but I still had one more thing to do though .

I looked into the shadows, feeling every shadow being in existence, until I found what I was looking for. "Mrs. O'Leary," I called out.

ROOF! was the response I got, until the shadows spat out a huge mass of darkness that crashed into me.

After licking me, she proceeded to run out of my room and explore the mansion. I didn't really mind, hellhounds and other such creatures are welcomed here.

Now there was one last thing left.

I shadow travelled to the one place I never wanted to go to, camp half-blood. I had to do it though. I walked into the stables to look for my closest friend.

Yo boss! How's it horsing?

"I'm good Blackjack. I'm not coming back to camp, they betrayed me," I said, not sure how my friend would react.

I've heard boss! The other horses told me. I haven't let those old weasels ride me. That girl wants to throw me outta camp.

"Would you like to come with me Blackjack?" I asked. Even when I said it, it sounded stupid. Blackjack was a free animal meant to be flying in the open. Not somewhere in the mansion of night or Tartarus! I needed to pull a favour.

"Blackjack, have any of your other friends been ill treated by the campers?" I asked.

Yeah boss! We horse folk don't like unfaithful sons of–"

"WOAH, Blackjack, language!" Man these horses need to wash their mouth with Styx water.

Time for that favour. I quickly teleported myself, Blackjack and his other Pegasi friends to a palace floating invisibly in the clouds. This place can only be found by the primordials or any who are wished to be seen by the lord of the house. I had only seen this guy once before, so I was worried that he would not agree with me.

All of a sudden, the sound of wings was heard and before me was a Pegasus similar to Blackjack but had golden hooves and looked bigger. "Lord Pegasus," I nodded my head, "what are you doing here?" I asked.

He questioned.

"My friend Blackjack and his friends here are not being treated well at camp half-blood. I was hoping to ask Lord Ouranous, my uncle, if he could allow the Pegasi to stay here."

"Very well," I said, nodding to him.

I walked towards the rather palatial house and knocked on the doors. It was opened by a well built guy who had a white beard with lightning flickering in it and a sky blue polo t-shirt.

"Lord Ouranous," I bowed. "No need to bow, young lad, I know very well who you are," he said. "What brings you here?"

"My Pegasi friends are not respected in camp half-blood," I replied, "I was wondering whether you would be willing to allow them to stay in your domain. I will arrange for their shelter of you allow me."

He waved his hand smiling, "No need for that nephew, all allies of the primordials are welcome here," he said, "Pegasus can guide them to the stables. I hope they get along with my wind steeds."

"Thank you Ouranous", I said gratefully. "I hope we can spend some time together."

He smiled, "Hold on I have a little something for you, follow me kid," he said, before walking into his mansion.

He guided me into the throne room, which had two big thrones in the middle. The first one was sky blue with clouds floating around it, the second was green and brown with an earthly feeling to it. I assumed that was his wife Gaia's. I heard that the two made up for what happened in the past.

He sat on his throne and threw a tiny portion of a cloud at me. It felt cool and smelt of rain.

"You now have the ability to fly or be in the domain of the sky. It allows you to manipulate the winds and to fly. It may take some energy, but should be possible over time and that brat Zeus wouldn't be able to touch you."

I nodded and smiled thankfully at him. "Thank you Uncle," I said.

He smiled, "Now go back to your mother, I assume she's calling you."

As he said that, I felt a thought in my head from my mom. It was rather loud, asking me to go back to the mansion. I quickly thanked Ouranous, said bye to Blackjack and teleported to my room in the mansion of Night.
