I laid quietly on the sofa thinking to myself weirdly, you know the usual. Before getting up to get myself a drink.
I dropped my cup after hearing a gunshot from outside, I ran out seeing Finn and Tommy walking out on the road as well to know where it came from.
"Finn?" Tommy asked holding a gun.
"It came from Arthur's house." He told Tommy as I ran over to him.
"What happened?" I asked hugging Finn.
"I don't really know." He answered back probably wondering what had happened.
"God I thought someone was shot." I breathed in relief hugging his arm.
"I'm glad no one was." Finn responded.
—
I left Finn and went to the betting shop where all the women were. I sat down at a desk and put my coat on the desk and rested my head on it.
Polly walked through slamming the door behind her making me wince at the harsh noise. She talked to Lizzie for a while mostly telling her to back off her job.
Linda soon came waltzing I'm as well. Linda is still as holy as ever. God come save me from the dynamic trio.
"Said to Arthur whilst I'm in this fucking place I want something to keep my mind busy." she said taking her coat off.
"Linda you just sinned. You swore." I told her but she ignored me.
"What you're going to take bets?" Polly questioned her.
"I have always been able to do addition and subtraction without pen or paper." Linda bragged.
Okay Linda step down, don't need to tell us all your achievements. "But I'll need a telephone." she said sitting down.
"Apparently we have special clients who take bets by telephone." Linda said.
"Linda?" Polly paused. "This is a betting shop." Polly said in confusion.

"Look!" Linda snapped. "Arthur said yes. Tommy said yes!"
"Linda if you wanted we could of just went to church and become church buddies, that is time consuming." I suggested.
"No Rose shut up." Polly told me signalling me to shut up so I made an 'excuse me' face towards her.
Rude.
"But did God say yes? Gambling is a sin, Linda." Polly said trying to get Linda to rethink her actions.
"It's not me doing the gambling." Linda said smartly.
Why can't I be smart? I just learned out to write, read and do simple maths. Linda was smart.
The door owner again and this time Finn slammed the door close making me wince again at the noise.
"Why can't anybody shut the bloody door quietly?" I complained rubbing my forehead.
"The rule is, that door should be locked until 9:00 am." Finn reminded us acting like the high lord.
I rolled my eyes saying 'thank you for reminding us' before smirking.
"Who made you boss?" I asked him.
"Right boy, boy, where are you going?" Polly said after him.
"Well Arthur's not coming in today. He's taking the day off so..." Finn replied.
"So what?"
"So today, Tommy said I'm in charge." Finn carried on.
"Sorry you're in charge?" Polly asked confused once again.
"Yeah that's what he said." Finn replied.
Polly stood up and ripped the phone cable. "Alright sweetheart." Polly said giving the phone to Linda.
"Ladies let's give our boss a day he'll never forget." Polly commanded and I ran over smiling hugging him.
I leaned against him sat by a desk and Polly looked towards us.
"So?" She asked us like we knew what the question was.
"What?" I asked looking at Finn and then to her again.

"Have you two ever had sex?" She asked us and I chocked on nothing blushing like a tomato.
I looked at Finn who was blushing miserably and I turned back showing my red cheeks.
"Don't you think that's a little inappropriate Polly?" I asked her. Way to be blunt about it.
"No, are you pregnant?" She asked after and I looked at her my eyes about to burst.
"Fucks sake Polly, no." I said covering my face. I mean, I actually didn't really know.
"No swearing in front of the child Rose." Lizzie said to me going through a book at her desk.
"What child?" I asked looking around. I couldn't see any kid.
"The child you're having." Lizzie joked and I gave her a sarcastic smile.
"Piss off I'm not pregnant." I said going back to an irritated face and flipped her off.
"Only one way to find out." Polly said leaving to get some tea.
"Pol I swear to God you better not get you're special grass!" I yelled after her.
I turned to Finn who was laughing.
"Fuck off, she thinks I'm pregnant. And I'm not." I said clarifying I wasn't and he nodded. "What do you want me to be pregnant?" I asked him.
"What ever you want Rose." he told me tucking a piece of hair out of my face and kissing my head.
"That's not an answer." I said hitting his hand away.
—
Here I was now tipping tea into a cup for Polly. We were in a different room and it was only the girls with me watching every move I did.
I'm only doing it to prove I'm not pregnant. I couldn't be, oh I don't know.
I swirled it and handed it to her and she searched
through it.
She smiled putting the tea cup on the desk.
"So?" I asked concerned about the smile on her face.
"You're pregnant Rose. I hope this is going to be your only child, we don't want you to end up like John and have millions of children." Polly smirked.
"What, I c-can't be." I said in shock and confusion.
"Now go and tell Finn." Polly ordered me and I nodded frightened, how am I supposed to tell him oh hey yeah I'm pregnant, I can't do that.
"You're officially a Shelby now Rose." Lizzie said to me smiling happily.
"Shit." I said looking around for a drink.
"Rose you'll be fine whatever is happening with Luca you'll be far from in trouble." Polly reassured me almost reading my mind.
"But what about my parents?"
"Why would your parents hurt you? They love you." Linda asked me.
"I watched my mother die and she survived, she obviously doesn't love me because if she did she would have come and found me." I snapped at Linda.
I stood up leaving the room to see Finn sitting nervously at the desk his leg bouncing in anticipation.
He looked at me questioning me and I nodded towards him conforming the question.
"I'm pregnant." I told him looking anywhere but his eyes, I was about crying, I didn't know what to do. How do I even look after a child.
"Rose it's okay, Rose look at me." Finn said placing his hand on my cheek to turn my face.
"Rose we're having a baby." Finn smiled.
"They're going to be gorgeous." I told him slightly smiling back trying to look on the bright side of things.

This is a story of two old men trying to free from the shackle of their destiny set in a future only to await their impending doom. And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
