《Pinball Vance (Vance Hopper x Reader)》Part 23

After a while he walked me home and we said our goodbyes. I went up to Finneys room and knocked on the door. "Come in," he said and I walked in. "Heyy," I said closing the door behind me.
"Hey, where were you?" He asked.
"Oh I was just down at the park.."
"With?"
"Vance.."
"Oh. Uhm so why are you in here?"
"I wanted to know if you would come to the drive in theatre and watch chainsaw massacre."
"Seriously?" He smiled ear to ear.
"Yeah!"
"Wait with who?"
"Well vance.."
"And?"
"Moose and his brother."
It took me a while to convince Finney to go but he reluctantly agreed. I couldn't wait I mean I practically skipped out of my brothers room. I went into my room and my father came wished me goodnight and switched off the lights. That night I tossed and turned a little thinking about tomorrow but then suddenly a wave of calm went over me and I slept like a baby the rest of the night.
I woke up the next morning at ten o'clock, I got up out of bed and went straight to the shower. I stripped and cleaned myself from head to toe. I shampooed and conditioned my hair twice then I got out and wrapped a towel around myself. I brushed my teeth and my tongue and I went back in to my room.
I put on a pair of jeans, a nice jumper, a pair of white socks and my old black dirty converse. I went downstairs and got two slices of toast, I buttered them and sat at the kitchen table. I ate both slowly and got a glass of water to wash it down when I was done.

I spent the rest of my day with Finney and about an hour before we left I told my dad that me and Finney would be going out and he was completely fine with it. Probably because he had about five beers in him.
Me and Finney left to wait on them just outside of our house. When his car pulled up me and Finney climbed in the back seat. "Hey," Vance said with a smile. Moose looked at us "heyy" he said and then brought his focus to Finney.
John drove to the theatre and got a ticket for 'Chainsaw Massacre.' We had a brilliant view and I sat up close to Vance the whole time it was a total hour and twenty-seven minutes of bliss except for you know all the murder and blood.
I was expect shit from the two brothers but to my surprise neither of them opened their mouth. We all just watched and enjoyed the movie then we decided to go out for food.
When the movie finished to drove to a diner called 'Mama Jill's'. We went in and sat in a booth, I sat between Vance and Finney as I scanned through the menu. John reassured us we could get whatever we wanted and he would pay for it all.
Each of us ordered a milkshake and a burger, instead of us each getting a portion of fries we got a large sharing between us. I ate my burger and didn't take too many fries but I was so grateful. During the meal we made small talk and it was honestly so nice.
At the end of the night John dropped us home and I thanked them all for such a lovely night. I left that car grinning ear to ear and I'm so glad I went..

Cheep!?
Charles Monroe survived the disappearance of his parents, did his best to hold things together for himself and his sister. He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. Now, on the bridge between life and death, he hears a voice claiming to know where his family went. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent
