《Dark Roses #Wattys2019》Chapter 7

The weekend passed by pretty fast, and I can honestly say I had a great time Saturday, well, besides the power outage part. But luckily when the pizza arrived it was still hot, and we no longer had hungry stomachs. However, Tia was right when she mentioned how Jackson would try to eat most of the pizza. We had to stop him on his 8th slice, luckily the extra large was really big unlike some pizza places I know.

Today was a fresh new week of studying, quizzes, tests, projects, and homework. I doubt my teachers will continue to go easy on me during class, this will be my second week of school.

Like always, I was in AP Calc sitting right next to Nina waiting for the bell to ring. Not only do I actually hate this class, but I hate the teacher as well. She's a nice and sweet person but honestly, just not teacher material. The only benefits of being in this class are having Nina in it, and this cute guy I've been keeping my eye on since my first day being in here.

He's tall, has brown eyes, dirty blonde hair, and I think his name is Eli.

After a few more dreadful minutes went by, the bell finally rung, and Nina and I packed up our stuff and went out of the door. Danny walked from around the corner to catch up with us.

"Hola friends," he smiled walking to the side of Nina. Nina jockingly rolled her eyes, and I chuckled.

"Do you not know enough Spanish to say 'friends' in spanish?" Nina spoke sarcastically to Danny. I knew their way of speaking to each other was how they joked around with one another.

"Sorry I'm not in AP spanish," he laughed running a hand through his perfect hair. Nina snorted.

"Um you don't have to be in AP spanish to know how to say 'friends' in spanish, I'm pretty sure they say it a lot in the t.v show Dora."

"You have to admit Dora's outfits are pretty fire though." Danny responded jokingly.

"I would totally buy boot's boots. I wonder what the name for them are," I added in.

"The fubu 1990's" Nina spoke making me laugh so hard in the hallway, I'm pretty sure everyone stopped and stared at me to see if I was okay. I wasn't the only one laughing though, Danny and Nina were cracking up too. It seemed like the harder I laughed, the hardest they would laugh.

We finally arrived at the cafeteria and of course, we saw Tia arguing with Jackson about something while Hanna went up to get lunch.

When we got to the table we sat in our original seats, and listened in on the conversation.

"Justin Bieber is gay!"

"No he is not, you're gay!"

"Hey, the only guy I would be gay for is Bill Gates, and we all know the reason for why that would be," Jackson finished. We all chuckled. While their conversation went on however, Blaire walked right past me clutching onto his notebook. A nice idea came across my mind.

"Blaire, Hey" I spoke loudly enough for him to hear. I was standing up sort of in my chair so that way Blaire could automatically recognize who the voice was coming from.

It's like he didn't have to though.

He turned around, looked at me, and smiled.

I quickly got out of my seat having everyone at my table look at me like I was crazy, and walked over to Blaire keeping my hands in my back pockets.

"How was your weekend?" I questioned staring into his piercing blue eyes. It's hard to look away from them once you stare into them. I've never seen eyes so beautiful before.

Blaire clenched tighter onto his notebook.

"It was great, really great," he lied. I hope he didn't get picked on this weekend by anyone, he doesn't deserve it.

I know he didn't ask, but I'm going to keep the conversation going so I can get to the point of why I'm talking to him, "well I had a great weekend too. Hungout with some friends, but there was a big thunderstorm Saturday, and I'm pretty sure my house is haunted."

I let out a small laugh towards the end, but Blaire only kept a faint smile on his face.

"Um..how about you come sit at my table..with me? There's a lot of empty seats." I spoke in a way that could encourage him to come sit with us. I know no will like it, but they're just going to have to suck it up.

"I..I can't Rose.."

"Pleaseeee?" I said pulling one of my hands out of my back pocket and tugging on one of his hands with it. He seemed flustered by the action.

"I.." He looked down at our hands connected and then back at me.

"Come on it'll be fun!"

I then in that moment pulled Blaire to my table and sat him down in the seat across from me.

I looked at everyone, and they all had their jaws dropped.

"Guys, Blaire, Blaire, Tia, Hanna, Jackson, Danny, Nina" I spoke pointing at everyone in order. No one said anything.

"Rose...what is this?" Hanna stated with a bit of an attitude coming back to the table. Can't these people just be nice to him for once? Is it really that hard?

I know he's, a bit off. But that doesn't mean you should treat him like shit, no matter what accusations were made against him.

At the end of the day, there was no evidence and he wasn't found guilty.

He didn't do it.

It's time for the town, the students, and the adults, to stop placing the blame on Blaire. They need to find their closure somewhere beyond hating on an innocent individual because there's no one else to blame.

Maybe I can help out with the process.

"Well Blaire usually sits alone at lunch which makes him an easy target to get picked on, so I invited him to sit with us." I smiled looking at Blaire.

"Yeah..and that makes US easy targets as well," Jackson added. Everyone agreed besides Nina, she kept quiet.

Nina shook her head, and then looked at Blaire.

"Hi Blaire, welcome to the table." She smiled faintly.

Lunch of course passed by with obviously everyone not wanting Blaire at the table, we even got a lot of stares from other people.

The rest of the day passed by quickly, but during passing period I came across Blaire and invited him over after school. At first he was hesitant, but then came around to it. So, we drove home together after school. Danny and I took our own cars to school today so it was okay. Of course however they all stared at me in the parking lot as I lead Blaire to my car.

When we finally arrived to my house, I parked the car, we got out grabbing our stuff, and went inside upstairs into my room. I was only in there because I wanted to change into some bed clothes. Then, we would go into the room I put the air hockey table in and sofa.

"Are you a Christian?" Blaire spoke standing in the doorway recognizing the crosses I had throughout my room, and Christian phrases. I pulled out the bedclothes I wanted to wear from my drawer, and nodded my head.

"Yeah" I smiled turning around to face him.

He walked a little closer.

"So that means you believe in the devil too right?" he spoke in a tone..hard to explain. It kind of caught me off guard.

"Yeah..well I mean Christians believe he's real, but evil. We don't worship him or anything. When you die you either go to hell with the devil, or you'll go to heaven with God." I responded staring at him with a weird look on my face.

This was awkward.

Blaire nodded his head and examined my room. Walking to a cross figure on one of my shelves, and picking it up.

"The only hell I believe in is the one a lot of humans can create on Earth, but I guess it's what you said, the devil is evil, and he does roam on Earth with his workers..right?" He questioned setting the cross down back to where it was, and stared at me with his piercing blue eyes.

I was absolutely speechless.

I'm trying to figure out how this conversation came up, but then I remember he questioned if I was a Christian or not.

As an awkward moment of silence filled the air, I then set my bedclothes down on my bed not wanting to change into them anymore.

"Um..how about I go get some snacks from downstairs? You can wait in the room right across from here if you'd like." I smiled starting to walk towards my doorway. He smiled back and nodded.

I quickly went downstairs and grabbed a bag of chips, hummus, pita bread, cookies, two cups, strawberry lemonade, and started to bring it upstairs while trying not to drop anything.

When I arrived to the room, I felt so relieved that I was finally able to set everything down on the table. Due to the feeling of my arms almost breaking from it.

"Sorry I took so long, I had to grab a lot of st-" When I looked up after setting everything down, Blaire wasn't there.

When I stood up properly, I looked around.

"Blaire?" I questioned. No response.

I then let out a huge sigh, and left the room trying to see where he went. As I stood in the hallway, the corner of my eye caught movement coming from my room. I quickly turned seeing Blaire sitting on the floor going through an old photo box of mine. I then walked into my room.

"How did you get those?" I laughed walking to him, and sitting down right next to him. I was seriously confused right now, but I didn't want to upset him. What gave him the right to think that he could go through my stuff?

"Oh, I'm sorry" Blaire laughed jumping a little bit at my question. He probably thought I would have been gone longer.

"I just saw the photos on your wall, and wanted to see if you had anymore. This guy..right here..he's in all of the photos you have in here. Why isn't he up on your wall?" Blaire questioned pointing at Andrew. I stared at the photo, and then grabbed it from Blaire. I then put it in the photo box along with the rest of the photos he pulled out, and shoved them back under my bed.

"I'm sorry Rose..I didn't mean to upset you-"

"-No." I spoke cutting Blaire off. I put my hand on my forehead, and then took it off.

"It's fine..he's just..an old friend of mine."

Blaire went silent, got up, and walked closer to me.

"You know you can tell me anything, I mean who would I tell. We are friends..right?" He questioned. He's right, who would he tell.

"He's my ex." The words finally escaped my mouth.

"And we were bestfriends since birth. He cheated on me with some random slut when I told him I was moving." I added in sitting down on my bed looking out the window.

Blaire sat down right next to me.

"I've experienced a lot of heartbreaks as well, but I understand yours has a deeper meaning behind it..considering the fact that you two were friends for a lonnnggg time before you started dating." He added in. I nodded my head.

"Do you forgive him?" Blaire questioned after a few seconds of silence. I really wish I could, but Andrew didn't even have the guts to apologize to me in person, to even explain himself. He betrayed not only his best friend, but his girlfriend. Not only did he cheat on me, but he started to spread rumors about me as well. Humiliating me. All because he was upset that I was moving. Who does that? My parents and I considered him family. It's just something that takes you by surprise you know?

People will have you build your trust in them for a long time, but then turn against you.

"Never."
