《The Nerd that turned out to be Vampire-ish [Wattys2015]》CHAPTER 51: On my own.

Fast forward, after I regained myself from being a statue. I'm now currently walking into a field of snow. But kept on glancing back at where the car was left behind. The thing is, he simply abandoned it in the middle of the lot, as we walked straight towards the plane.
Is he that rich to leave expensive things lying around? If he doesn't want it anymore, I'd gladly sell it and buy myself a new phone. For he happens to throw mine out his window like a piece of trash.
Ugh. I shook my head at the thought of my deceased phone.
I find it odd that he's not making any idle threats, nor point a gun at me, to make me go along with his plans. What's even weirder? Is that I'm simply following him without orders.
Escaping wasn't an option that was written in my head right now. The burning curiosity of meeting my mother, and finally knowing the truth about my real identity, has turned out to be my main driving force as of the moment.
The bald man stopped walking and gestured for me to go in first. I just stared at him but did what I was told. I held the cold railings of the stairs towards the plane's door and inhaled deeply.
Oh my god. I'll be flying again.
I sat on the first available seat that I saw upon entering, and bald man went to the driver's area. "Come in. If you need anything." He said and disappeared inside.
The engine began to roar, and I just realized that there's no more annoying nerd that'll take care of me during this flight. I held my seatbelt firmly under my grasp and closed my eyes as the plane started to move.
I'm on my own now.

And I guess it's better this way, that I don't need to bother anymore people to deal with my own problems.
I forced myself to sleep and ignore the nauseous feeling that I'm having. I wanted to run to the bathroom and lock myself inside until we land. But my feet is shaking too much, that standing and walking may not be possible for the meantime.
"Don't leave your seat. We're about to experience a bit of turbulence." I heard bald man's voice in the speaker. And on cue, the plane shook its ass. Like there's an earthquake in the sky.
Also, I'm having a minor panic attack.
Tristan. Help me.
His face immediately popped in my head at this very moment. I don't know why, but it somewhat feels like I needed him. His comfort, his voice, him – in general.
My breathing was rapid, like I'm in a race track with imaginary unicorns as my opponents. Then my hands started to feel numb, as it turns cold and freeze itself to die on its own – without my permission.
I'm having an anxiety attack. Literally.
The plane stopped shaking but my body didn't. I'm probably suffering with an internal aftershock. My eyesight turned hazy as well, as my breathing pattern never changed. Then I started wheezing. For unicorn's sake! Can't this get any worse?
Calm thoughts. Calm thoughts.
I started doing a mantra in my head, while inhaling and exhaling deeply. I need to help myself if I want to survive on this trip.
It's about time I become independent.
Slowly, I'm feeling slightly better. The imaginary ice on my hands has now evaporated, and I can finally move them. My breathing pattern returned normal as well. But the nauseous feeling never left.
Damn. What a clingy persistent bitch you are nausea!

By the time I finished singing a lullaby to myself, I started to doze off. Finally, I'm able to enter the land of dreams.
But even in my sleep, my fear of heights never left me. And it has gotten worse.
I was dangling onto Tristan's condo, specifically by the window of their living room. And as I looked down, I realized that it's a long way ahead from here to there. I know it was a wrong move, but my eyes happens to have a mind of its own. Like it was drawn in by gravity itself, also with a slight mix of curiosity.
And as always, gravity was acting like a bitch that never stopped pulling me down. My hands were not a big help either, its seconds away from slipping. Threatening to loosen its grip, as sweat starts to build in.
By the time my left hand has finally gave up its hold, my right hand was about to do the same. I closed my eyes waiting for the inevitable to happen, but then a pair of hands held my wrist. I looked up to see Will. He flashed me one of his ever so dazzling smile and I returned one of my own as well. Then he released me. And off I go, screaming into the abyss, as gravity opened its arms to welcome me.
I woke up panting. What the hell was that?
"We're now about to land in the city of Baguio." Bald man's voice once again filled the plane's interior.
I didn't expect that I'd be coming back to the Philippines. Well I mean, not like I don't want to. But I never would've thought this is where she's been hiding all this years. Damn, to think we were living in the same country. I shook my head. This is a definite shocker.
Maybe bald man wasn't joking about what he said to Kayla – that we'll probably cross paths, soon.
