There are just people who won't run out of problems, and one of them is me. Fate won't give me a break, seriously, it keeps on giving me punches that it's almost impossible to recover from.

This personal journey of finding my mother, is also one way for me to find myself. Which I thought I've already figured out – well some parts of it. Like me being a half-blood, or so I thought. It's hard that I've already accepted some certain facts, and was probably attached to that side of the story, but then will be changed later on.

It's fucking annoying! To be honest.

I've been dying to do a table flip the moment I heard that news from Kayla. I wanted to cry, and shout, and bury my fist on the wall. Damn. This is all so hard to take in. It feels like the lid to my jar of problems won't even close anymore. The pile has continually been stocking itself to the brim.

I collapsed to the floor, knee first. It hurts, if you ask me. But the weight of all this is just over-bearing, like I was hammered by the head with an invisible force.

If I'm not a human, and also not a half-blood, then in what category do I fit?

Kayla too had kneeled in front of me. "Hey. I'm sorry that I told you this. Maybe it's too soon, but I don't like keeping things from you. Well, it's fun to watch you all so curious and stuff. But this is a big one, and it is something that you needed to know." She said and hugged me. "I'm sorry. We'll figure things out I promise."

I sighed and felt a tear escape from my eyes. With that I breathe heavily, hoping to release some of the stress. I hugged her tightly as well. "I'm glad you didn't say 'secret' like your usual habit." She laughed and released me from her hug.

"Don't shut us down okay? I swear with my life. I'll help you in any way I can." She paused and stood up, which I did as well. "I know this must have killed you inside out. And I quote, truth hurts."

I smiled a bitter one. "Well, I can't do anything anyway. I'm just mind-fucked at the moment." I run a hand through my hair and sat at the bed.

"Problems does fuck us real hard at times." Kayla said and took a seat at the stool.

"Harder than Jonas?" I asked with a sly smirk.

And as always, I'm trying to hide my real feelings with jokes. I kind of want to put this at the back of my head, for the mean time. Because I don't want to deal with any more problems. The answers will probably show itself along the way.

Kayla stood up and punched me on the arm. Then I laughed, even though it hurts. Seeing her blush, is like watching a literal blue moon.

"I'll take that as a yes." I said and run to the bathroom. Then I popped my head back out. "Jonas is obviously more skilled than any problems." I ended it with a wink, and Kayla simply flashed me a middle finger with a small smile on her face.

"I'm going out to see Don." She said and I nodded.

I closed the bathroom door, and almost instantly the heavy feeling is back. Like there's suddenly a thunder cloud sprouted above my head, pouring imaginary rain on me. And changing the whole atmosphere of the room, into a gloomy hell.

Well, this spot has turned out to be my personal sanctuary. A place where I can truly be myself, and take off the mask for a few seconds. I sighed heavily and washed my face. A sob is now threatening to escape, but I held it in.

Damn! What is with all this drama? This is so not me. Fate surely is testing my patience.

A flashback suddenly entered my line of thoughts. It was when Tristan and I first met in the school's shuttle. Things would've probably been different if I hadn't met that nerd, or if I didn't brought my tripod in the first place. I sighed heavily. But this is bound to happen, either way – I guess.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise? Or not.

While facing the mirror, I did some weird facial exercise to loosen up my tensed muscles. I then stopped, when my face started to ache, and thought of taking a short nap before going back to Misaki's house.

As I opened the door, immediately my eyes landed onto the person scuffling our things, specifically Kayla's laptop – where most of our files are saved and most importantly, the secretary's list. On that moment, suspicion and fear flooded my head.

The man was wearing a literal mask that's covering half of his face, which gave me a huge hint that this guy's obviously not one of the room service.

I wanted to scream but the shock had hid my voice. I stood there stiff like a penis stung by a bee, while watching the stranger run out of the room.

What the fuck was that?

After my soul returned to my body, it felt like I was a newly charged robot. And I don't know what got inside my head, because my automatic response after I regained from shock, was to chase the masked man.

I know, I'm stupid. I thought to myself, but still I kept running.

Well, even before I've always done the opposite of what my instincts tells me. It's a bad habit I can't easily get rid of, even with a new year's resolution. I shook my head and focused at the task at hand.

By the corner, I saw him turn into the hallway, where an elevator is waiting by the end of it. Fuck. There's no way I'd let him get to that.

I may not be a runner but I sure am surprisingly fast today, or maybe he's just slow. And it looks like luck is on my side this time around. Because by the distance, I could make out two familiar figures, Keith and Tristan.

"STOP HIM!" I shouted as loud as I can, without a care in the world.

As expected Tristan's sharp ears immediately heard my scream, even though I was too far out from them. By impulse he jumped into action, and so did Keith. He might not be blessed with Tristan's ability but he's sharp enough to guess what's happening.

Well, aside from the obvious mask that's suspicious enough, I felt the need to give them a heads up.

As I was running, I took my phone out and dialed Kayla's number. It rang a couple of times, before she finally picked up. I didn't wait for her to say hey, or whatever, so I went straight to the point and told her what she needs to hear.

"Come out the hallway. Fast." I said and hanged up.

The masked man may be slow, but he's fast enough to counteract the two who's charging at him. In one swift motion he had easily pinned down Tristan on the floor, unconscious. Everything was too fast for me to even see how he did it.

Unlike Tristan, Keith studied his opponent first before jumping on him. He positioned himself into a fighting stance, and puts both of his fists in front. The masked man had the opposite gesture, because his hands were behind his back. Like a cobra waiting patiently for the right moment to release a deadly blow.

I was about to close my distance from them, when someone suddenly tugged my hood. It was Kayla. "Don't." She plainly said, in almost a whisper. "Stay here."

She briefly looked at Don, and it seems like they're having one of those silent conversations. Don nodded and immediately sprinted towards the culprit, Kayla followed after him.

"Hey." Kayla shouted to the masked man.

And on that brief moment of distraction, Keith immediately grabbed hold of the masked man, and securely puts his arm underneath the man's armpit. Well, yeah that sounded gross. But that move safely immobilized the culprit, well only for a brief moment that is. Until he head-banged Keith by the back of his head, and stomped on his foot. When Keith let go of his hold, the man released a powerful blow on Keith's side, instantly he crumpled on the floor.

Don was closing in to the masked man, and the culprit didn't fail to notice that. Right away, he ran towards the elevator.

My eyes balled out when I saw Kayla taking out her gun, it has a silencer but still...

I don't want to think of what might happen, or what she's planning to do with that.

Then my body acted on its own, and I too had sprinted towards the masked man. Running as fast as I possibly can, not caring if my legs would fall off any second. I passed Kayla, and now I'm only a feet away from Don.

When I was only an arm's length from him, I stopped midway and took out my shoe. I breathe in deeply, focusing on the red mark, which is the masked man's bald head. I then positioned myself into a throwing stance that I learned from softball, when I was still in high school – well, it didn't last long, I only trained for a bit and quit afterwards when I felt lazy.

So with all my strength, I released my shoe and miraculously, it landed on his head.

Bullseye!

My aim never faltered, even after a few years. Well, even with a gun, I'm still good at it. Modesty aside. Don might be right. I have a hunter's blood, and I should accept it with open arms.
