"Why are we taking him exactly?" I asked. While my eyes was focused on the road. I don't drive carelessly like Kayla does, I drive like a grandma.

"Just so." She simply said. "Can't you drive any slower?"

"Yeah. Want me to execute?" I asked her, though it was purely a joke. But when I heard her growl, immediately I stepped on the gas and went on a speed I'm not comfortable with.

Kayla blindfolded Tristan when we're close to our destination. We arrived at the house and got inside through the back door. I helped him on the stairs down to the basement. As Kayla opened the cabinet with another security hassle.

This time, she knocked on the said cabinet and immediately a flash of light came from above it. It went to her eyes and after it's done it said the same words. "Scan complete." She then also said the same magic words. I snickered and I saw Tristan smirk, I nudged his side before Kayla caught him. I don't want him to get the black eye I had, or think badly of Kayla. Well, I know it's too late for that. He probably thinks Kayla is a criminal mastermind, of some sort.

When we were inside the headquarters Don immediately bolted up from his seat, when his eyes landed to our new guest, in handcuffs. "So, this is what you got from your shopping spree?"

"Oh dear." Keith said and scratched his head, I mean cap.

"We can explain..." I said but Kayla stopped me from further saying anything.

"Take this boy to the main room. I'll talk to them." She said, and I simply obeyed. So I took Tristan by the arm and ushered him towards the headquarters' core.

"Would you mind explaining me all this?" Tristan finally spoke after a long time of playing mute.

"Yes." I helped him sat on the sofa and took off his blindfold and handcuff. Though, I don't know if it's okay to do so. But Kayla gave me the key, so why not. "Uhm how do I start this. Any questions?"

He blinked a lot adjusting to the brightness of this room before he looked at me. He was touching his wrists while looking around. My eye focused only on his wrist that was turning red.

I suddenly feel guilty.

"I'm sorry. Now you're involved into this mess." I said and covered my face, trying to hide my tears, and hold out the rest that's about to fall like rain. I feel even guiltier of what I've done. I just dragged him into a hellhole with a complicated maze to solve.

I heard him sigh. "I see that you weren't kidnapped nor in the Province." He said, and slowly took my hands away from my eyes. "What's going on hobbit? Tell me."

"Surprise! I turned out to be the kidnapper." I said shaking my hands while saying the word surprise, he chuckled at my lame attempt to joke. "They're good people, you know. And actually they are... hunters."

"I can see that." He paused. "So why are you with them?"

I told him the long story of how I ended up into this mess. On how they thought I was Victoria—my mother, that ironically has the same name as mine— and turns out I'm her daughter, now I'm their asset or somewhat like a bait to catch her, the big fish.

After I said everything, not leaving a single page unturned, for the first time Tristan was speechless.

"Damn." Was the first word that came out his mouth. He then ran a hand through his hair. "So you are Will's sister." I nodded. "Damn." He said again, then stood up. "How can this be..."

I too stood up. "I know. There's no answers yet to the questions in your head. So just sit tight for the mean time." I pushed him lightly to get back on the sofa. "And, let's not tell anyone about this, yet." I sat back right next to him, and looked into his eyes. "Please."

He nodded. Then unexpectedly, he grabbed hold of me and hugged me tightly. He exhaled deeply, like he's relieved of something, to what seemed like a thorn was just plucked out of he's system.

"You have no idea how happy I am to know you're safe, and heard your voice in that store." He whispered to me.

Store?

"Store?" I repeated the question in my head. "But I made sure to keep distance from you back there."

"Well, my hearing ability is something you can't merely escape with minimal distance. It was awakened when I turned eighteen." He said and let go of me.

"And?" I asked him further, I know he's not the talkative type.

"I heard an annoying voice in that store. I knew it was you." He said and eased his posture on the sofa.

"Annoying huh?" I squinted my eyes. "So why didn't you came to me. Right there and then?"

"Well, you had company. And obviously my guts was right. She is dangerous." He touched his wrist again, and it looks like it's going to turn into a bruise.

I grabbed his arm. "Let's put some ice on that." We went to the kitchen and I made him sit on the stool while I was looking for ice and its bag. When I found it, immediately I put it on his aching wrist.

Kayla came marching in the room, and went straight to us. "So he knows?" Her question was directly at me and I nodded. Then she looks at Tristan. "Tristan Carius, right?" He simply nodded. "I apologize for taking you. We mean no harm."

"Yeah. So, speak up. You look like you're itching to tell me something." Tristan said boldly. No one had the nerves to speak like that to her, well except Jonas.

Kayla smirked. "Your friend is ballsy, and sharp." She went to the fridge and grabbed three bottled waters, then threw one for each of us. "I need you to come with us to Japan." She said without any further remarks.

Tristan smiled. "Sounds fun."

"That's stupid." I said in a low voice, and thought only ants can hear me, but I was wrong, because both of them are now glaring at me. I shot my hands in front, immediately on defensive mode. "I mean. How can he come along? He wasn't in the plan."

"His an eighteen year old vampire, with a newly awakened ability that none of us have. He can play Don's role perfectly." She said which makes sense. I sighed. They probably did a background check on him.

"You're right." I paused and turned to Tristan. "Well then, welcome to the team."

"We should introduce him properly to the others before we leave in an hour." She simply said, and started heading towards the door.

"Wow. In an hour." I said as I felt my heart hammering my ribs, trying to escape and do a jumping jack.

I'm close to finding out who my mysterious supplier is, well not the queen bee, but the person who's been sponsoring my supplements. I don't know if I'm ready enough to take this step. I buried those thoughts aside, and locked them at the back of my head.

Kayla looked to me. "We'll brief him on what to do. And don't worry, we won't hurt or threaten him." She stopped when she heard me laugh.

"Wow that's a change. You guys threaten me all the time." I said, and she too laughed.

"Well he's royalty. Anyway, just pack up your things." She suggested, or well, ordered me and I nodded.

I understand what she meant by saying royalty. I knew Marcus was a big person in this world. I remembered Tristan said before that his grandfather had a seat in the world council, but later on gave it up to travel the world.

Kayla continued to talk while walking. "And the bags are near the elevator. You can grab yours and just leave mine. Also the donuts..."

"Were long gone?" I asked and she smiled sheepishly. "It's fine. I bet the three wolves gobbled it up the moment they saw it." She nodded and laughed. I meant Keith, Don, and Jonas by the way. Well the donuts were for them, so it's cool.

After I grabbed my shopping bag, I left Tristan in their care. I then jogged back to my room and packed up the necessary things that I needed for this trip. Kayla gave me a big duffel bag to use, and I gladly took the offer. When I was done, I decided to lay on the bed just for a while. Then old habits kicked in and I started rolling and rolling, until I fell asleep.

I woke up when I felt someone shaking me. I blinked out the blurriness and focused on the person in front. Tristan. "Hey." I said and yawned.

"It's time to go." He simply said and pulled me up. "Kayla said she'll kick your ass, if you don't go down in five minutes."

That said, I immediately switched off my drowsiness. I got out of bed then grabbed the bag on the floor and the coat that I placed on top of it. "What are you waiting for?" I said when I was on the door and Tristan was still sitting on my bed, laughing.

"Damn. It's true, it really does work." He said and I just glared at him. "Yeah. Yeah. Coming." He then stood up after a few seconds of tapping my feet. When he got out of the room, he grabbed the bag in my hand and started walking ahead.

"So now you know the drill?" I asked him while were going down the stairs, and he simply nodded. "What about school and Will? Won't he worry?"

"I sent mom and Will a message that I'm going on a trip." He simply said.

"And? How about school?" I asked trying to pry, if Jonas also made him a fake excuse letter.

"Well, fuck school. I'll only be gone in a week." He said and dropped my bag on the sofa. "I'm a painting student. So it's no big deal."

"Wow. You just ruined your image of being a nerd." I said and he just laughed. "So, where are they?" I asked when I looked around and there's not a single soul in the room, well aside from us half-lings.

Tristan shrugged. "They went ahead. But will be back." Then he paused. "Keith was wondering if you have a boyfriend."

My face involuntarily made a grossed out expression. "Why would he ask that?" I then eased the tensed muscles on my face. "And the answer is no, I don't."

"Okay. I'll tell him that." He run a hand through his hair. "He seems interested in you."

"He's interested in every human with a vagina and a pair of breasts. Anyway, are we seriously having this conversation?" I asked because it's so uncommon for him to talk about love life.

Tristan just laughed. "Fine. Abort topic." He then went to the refrigerator. "Is it okay if I grab a coke?" I just replied with a yes. I too went to the fridge, and was about to take a can as well, when he grabbed my arm.

"In three months. Don't be anyone's girlfriend, yet." He said to me in all seriousness. My brows crossed on what he just said, but I think he's not joking. So I went along before he breaks my wrist with his bear hold.

"Okay. I promise." I said, and all his tension visibly faded.

Then he flashed me with one of those rare genuine smile of his. "Good."
