《The Nerd that turned out to be Vampire-ish [Wattys2015]》CHAPTER 34: The supplier.

I heard an opening of a door. My head stayed down as I watch my tears hit the floor. "Hey, why did you guys made her cry?" I felt Don's arms wrap around me. "Hey stop crying." He said as he shook my shoulders.
"That's no way to comfort a girl." I heard Kayla's voice with a hint of amusement. "And we didn't make her cry."
"You probably punched her again." I felt Don talk as his chest vibrates in front of me. I shook my head in reply to his accusation to Kayla. "Oh she didn't?" I felt his warm breath next to my cheeks. "Then why?" He asked again.
"Don you're pretty weak for crybabies." Kayla said. "She's not your little sister by the way. If you hadn't figured that out." The amusement in her voice didn't fade.
"She's just shocked to learn... or accept the fact that she's adopted." Jonas finally answered Don's question.
"It wasn't a big deal for me that I was adopted." Kayla said and I heard her feet as it touched the ground with a slight thud. Seconds later I felt her hand rubbing my back. "Don't let it affect you. Nothing changes if you're adopted or not. You are still their kid, and they love you, period. That's what matters." She paused, and lightly hit my head. "Now stop crying. Before I get really annoyed and punch you, again."
I laughed under Don's bear hug. I know it wasn't the appropriate response, but I'm touched by her words. Specially coming from mafia girl, the girl I thought was hard as a rock, it was weirdly amusing.
She has a point. I stopped crying as those words sink in my head. Slowly calming my emotions and is gradually replaced with the feeling of acceptance. So what if I'm adopted. The love my parents gave me were real. Kayla was right. That is what matters most.
Don let me go out of his hug but his hand stayed on my shoulders. "You're not going crazy are you?" He asked with a hint of amusement in his tone.
I shook my head. "I already am." That said, I wiped the tears on my cheeks and turned to Kayla. "Thanks for your words of wisdom, and heart-warming threat." She chuckled a bit and lightly punched my arm.
"Don't cry again. It's annoying." She walked back to the table and sat on it, again. "Now let's get back to work."

Jonas laughed. "She just seem cold but she's actually a softie." Kayla glared at her boyfriend. "Just accept the compliment babe." Jonas said and stood up, walking towards Kayla. He hugged her and then left a kiss on her frowning forehead.
So cute! Their too sweet, I can almost feel the ants crawling in my body.
I heard Don growl. "Get a room." He said and took a chair to sit right next to a big screen on the wall. "Oh yeah. Almost forgot. Your phone just got on 30% of battery. I think it's enough to send a text or a call." He took my phone out of his pocket and threw it to me, which I caught perfectly. "And I read your inbox. You might want to share about Anna Rinaldi's message?" He raised an eyebrow on me.
Wow. Is it that easy to transform from nice-caring-guy into an annoying donkey that fast?
"You do realize that that's invasion of privacy right?" I asked as I crossed my arms. Don simply shrugged.
Kayla perked up from her seat, and Jonas also straightened up. "Cut the chase and tell us what you read Don." She growled at Don who's twirling around on his computer chair.
"Who lit your tampon partner?" Don smirked. "But fine. I saw a forwarded message from Anna. You know that assigned bearer to that gay macho guy, Jack Brown?" He paused to look at Kayla, wanting to see if she does know the people he's talking about. Kayla nodded and gestured for him to continue. "Well, this girl's message contained an information of a supplier to that blood supplement." He pointed at my vitamin on the table.
"So?" I asked. "There must be tons of supplier of that supplement around the world." The reason why I asked who's Lea's supplier, was just to know the contents or what this vitamin really is.
"No. There's only one person who makes this." Jonas said and paused. "It's either she delivers it to you or someone buys it directly from her." I bet she's not delivering stuff like a pizza guy, she must have some worker ants.
"They say she makes it on an underground laboratory in one of her mansion. Though I don't know which. The fact is, she won't let anyone copy, nor make this product aside from her." Kayla said. "She's pretty meticulous to the quality of this. That's why it's expensive."
"What is it exactly?" I asked, curious about the thing I've been drinking ever since I don't know when.

"It's concentrated blood. Blood from humans that she personally takes care of, to be the perfect healthy donors." Jonas answered my questions.
"Like cows on a farm?" I said and they laughed.
"I heard rumors that it comes from children's blood. And we all know how valuable that blood is, its equivalent to black truffles to humans." Don piped in.
"Dude. If someone other than us heard you say that, you'll find your head rolling on the floor." Jonas said, fear was written all over his face.
I realized that never once had they mention the name of the maker of this supplement, and so did Lea when Anna asked her about who was her supplier. "So who is this person were talking about"
"Were not allowed to say her name. No one on our range is." Kayla shrugged. "The council says only the worthy ones are." She gestured the word worthy with an apostrophe using her fingers. "It's annoying really."
"Yeah, so what if she's the queen." Don simply said. "She's being a brat and a bitch."
"Don watch your mouth! Also you Kayla." Jonas warned the two. "Execution awaits you if those words come out of here." He sighed heavily. "Please be careful."
"Uhm. So what's the use of the number?" I asked, I honestly have no idea what's the big deal out of it. I really can't connect all the dots to this case.
Kayla glared at me. "If it's hard to directly ask your parents on who's the person sending you this. Then we'll have to do it the hard way." She said, as she jumped out of the table and went to a chair behind it.
I guess Kayla understood my feelings of not wanting my parents to get upset over me finding out about the truth. I want to stay it that way. I'd wait for them to tell me about the story of how I got my life tangled to theirs, in their own time. I don't want to force it out of them. I know I deserve to know it, but with the hunters help, I think I have the chance to unlock the past on my own.
Kayla then looked at me. "Throw me your phone." When I did, she caught it without even looking, and now she's typing directly on the table's surface.
Looking at Kayla, was like a scene taken from a sci-fi movie. The table was like a big touchscreen thingy. Their gadgets are pretty high-tech, when I had a look around the lab, the setting looks like we're in Ironman's lair. The screen beside Don suddenly lit up, and I guess that it's somewhat connected to the table. Kayla dragged a window/data from the point where she's typing, to the right side of the table, it disappeared and appeared on the screen next to Don.
So, we're now looking on a face of a girl in a kimono, and another photo shows a place, a house with traditional Japanese structural design. Then Kayla starts explaining.
"I traced the number and who owns it. It appears to be a company number." She enlarged the photo of the house. "That is the supplier's lair." She chuckled a bit before continuing. "Figures. She loves Asia. So it's understandable that she'd put it in a place where she can have the finest type of technology. Japan." The smirk on her face never fades. I guess she's amused that her guess turned out right.
Kayla then swiped it back and enlarged the photo of the girl. "And this is our girl. The secretary/assistant. We need to get her list, and pin out the buyers in the Philippines."
I gulped. I'm having a bad feeling about this. I think we're about to play a James Bond type of game.
"How do we do that?" Don asked the obvious. Is he seriously that oblivious to the fact that we have to sneak in to the dragon's lair.
Kayla sighed. "We need to get inside and hack her computer."
"Oh. That sounds easy." Don stood up, and suddenly started doing jumping jack. "This is making me hype up. I've never done spy mode before. But we need some help." Now his punching the air with an imaginary punching bag.
"Well then. We should get ready." Kayla paused and looked at me. "We might bump into your mysterious sponsor, so ready yourself." I simply nodded. Kayla feels like a commander.
It wasn't just Don who's feeling hyped about this mission, I too feel the blaze of excitement that's about to burst, and it makes me want to join Don's jumping jack session. I've weirdly grown to enjoy the adrenaline that's rushing through my body right now.
Let's do this.
Well, honestly I just want to go to Japan.

And everything restarts every time I die? No... are you fucking kidding me? Right? Genre: Action, Adventure, Medieval Apocalypse, Times Loops, Progression, War & Fantasy, Grimdark, Magic, Horror, LitRPG (but RP). Tone: Despair at the firsts chapters (which makes sense for a story that begins with the end of the world, doesn't it?), and lots of humor and stupid situations after to lighten the tone of the story. (Oh, and the MC is NOT a psychopath, a rapist, a hypocrite, or human garbage, so sorry for those who like that, because I don't like that). Note: Expect this story to contain grammatical errors and occasional random conjugations. I am learning English, and I have made a lot of progress, but I still have some gaps. So if you're allergic to it, don't read this story, you would inevitably be disappointed.
