《The Nerd that turned out to be Vampire-ish [Wattys2015]》CHAPTER 28: Hunting puzzle pieces.

After breakfast, Tristan's question still lingered in my head, unanswered. And I think it will remain as a mystery, until I find enough clues to draw out a formula to answer it.
Currently I'm in my room, arranging my things and getting ready to go back to the city. Anna on the other hand, was feeling bored and can't sleep. So she stayed with me and is now comfortably sitting on my bed while reading a book.
Divina said I could freely grab the clothes that I want from the closet, and I'm probably stupid for turning down her offer. Well, I guess I'm not the type to abuse someone's kindness, or I'm just plain stupid.
I was planning to go back with the same clothes I wore when I got here, which is my uniform. But Jill fought me on that, and with him no one can say no. He then picked out from the closet; a pair of light blue jeans, paired with a baby pink cashmere shirt, and finished the look with brown ankle boots. Plus he won't leave nor stop yapping, until he sees me wearing it. So, I have no choice and apparently I'm going back to the city in style – well later – now I'm sitting on the cold floor, like a rag girl in fashion.
While folding my now clean uniform, Anna suddenly sat to my side, as she studied my vitamins. Even I am weirded when I first saw it. Unlike other vitamins this one has no label, its container is only a plain white plastic bottle, with an expiration date at the back. It's pretty suspicious, but I'm sure it's not a drug. My pupils aren't dilated after I drink one, nor do I see unicorns in broad daylight. She opened the cap and pulled one tablet out. The tablet has the color of crimson red, and its gel based. This is the only medical shit that I don't hate, it's not bitter nor taste like puke.
"You have the zame zupplement one with my friend Lea." She simply said, while reminiscing a memory in her head. Probably her friend drinking one, as they laugh and talk about how healthy they are, which sounds like a TV commercial for Centrum.
Supplement... I drink this thing every day, mom said I shouldn't skip one day without it. One vile a day... Tristan's words suddenly haunts my head. Wait, I'm not entirely sure if her friend Lea is a...
"She's a vampire right, your friend, Lea?" I asked her.
"Yez. Like you, a half-blood." She simply said. Like she didn't just blurt out a big piece of the puzzle.
Damn. How can my past be so complicated! Now it feels like I'm solving a mystery case. So I laid out my clues: I'm a half-blood, was hypnotized thinking I have fear of blood, and... this weird supplement. But this supplement, is the biggest question of all. I don't know if it's some sort of substitute for blood?

Shit. My brain is racking too much, it feels like it just got hit by a killer earthquake.
"Fucking hell." I gave up thinking. I need help. So I stood up and bolted out of my room, heading towards the kitchen. I figured that's where Divina hangs out. Maybe she can think of more clues for me. But then, I stopped when I was almost near the staircase.
Should I drag them further with me? These words acted like breaks, and made me come to a stop.
These people have helped me more than enough. To begin with, this is my problem to solve, not theirs. So, I walked back to my room feeling a heavy weight upon my shoulders, like I'm balancing some fucked up ballerina whales on top of me.
I sighed. I should uncover this problem on my own.
Anna was standing still when I got back in my room, and she looks worried, probably by my sudden actions.
I laughed to conceal my anxiousness. "I thought I left my phone in Tristan's car. I remembered it's under my pillow." I scratched my head, to add to the effect, well this is what I see in movies when they forget something, people scratch their heads like there's a nest of flea in it. While mentally crossing my fingers that she would hopefully buy my act.
She laughed. "You are too young to be forgetful." Anna said while she sat back on the bed. I then walked back to where I left my things scattered beautifully on the floor, and continued where I left, packing.
Something came up, an idea, but I'm hesitant. If I spill it out and get something from it. Would this information lead me elsewhere?
Would it lead me to my real parents?
That question was like a stab in the heart. I love my present parents. Also, I don't want to ask them if they really are my parents. That would break their hearts so much more than mine. So I will find out about the truth without ever confronting them.
Wow, curiosity does give me weird willpowers. Curiosity kills a cat, those words suddenly shot through my head. But I'm no cat. Well, I have one, but it's not literally a feline, more like an organ. Still not counted. So I gave up to my curiosity and let the cat out of the bag, well not my vagina, it's intact.
What is with this line of thoughts! If Edward Cullen happens to read this, I don't know what his reaction would be.
I sighed and finally got the guts to ask Anna...
"Uhm. Anna do you happen to know where Lea gets her supplement from? I think I'll run out soon, and I can't contact my current supplier." I bit my tongue.

Damn. I lied too much these past few days, I guess I'm becoming an expert. I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing, probably depends on how it's used. Mine is for the greater good. So I think it's reasonable. Wow, I'm trying to reason with my conscience. I laughed mentally like a donkey on crack.
"I don't know. I'll azk her." She then took out her phone and started tinkering with it. She then smiled at me. "I zent a mezzage. We wait. Okay?" I nodded and smiled back.
My bag is now ready to go and on cue Tristan knocked on the open door. "Mom said we should have lunch first before we head out." He said and then disappeared back into the hallway.
"Let's go." I told Anna, as I grabbed my bag and swing it to my shoulder.
"Uhm Lea replied. Lea won't tell the name of the zupplier but will juzt give you number. I'll forward it to you." Immediately I received a message from Anna, with the number that could possibly give me more pieces to this puzzle.
"You're a life saver! Thank you so much." I gave her a bear hug. Now I feel even guiltier for lying to her.
It's for the greater good.
My conscience found it's voice in my head, and it was unusual that it's saying the opposite of what it should, like say; lying is bad, you're going to hell. I shrugged it off and sang Taylor Swift's shake it off. I will thank Anna when this is over and apologize for all the lies I've said. Mental pinky promise.
We then arrived at the kitchen with another feast in the table. Feels like every day is Thanksgiving in this household. I sat on a random chair while Anna sat next to mine. I noticed that Marvin the wine guy was missing in action, and also there are no signs of red liquid in the table. So, they do only drink once a day.
My stomach started bitching, so I filled my plate with all types of meat. I weirdly have a strong craving for meat, now I'm wondering if pregnancy is contagious.
"You sure you'll finish that princess?" Asked Will on the other side of the table.
"Wanna bet?" Tristan asked Will, which Glitter gladly accepts. Nerd bet that I could, because he thinks I'm a hobbit with a pig's appetite. Glitter on the other hand, thinks I'm far too girly to eat like a giant.
Well, Nerd won hands down, and now Will owes him a month of free pizza. Even I was shocked of my weird craving.
Fuck.
I felt something. So I bolted out of my seat and run to the nearest CR. I checked and there it is, my red tide. That explains the craving and my emotional roller coaster this past few days. I took a tampon and shoved it on my leaking hole.
I got back and the three of them were staring weirdly at me. "You okay?" Asked Anna, she's worried again.
"Yeah. Monthly waterfall." I intended to use a codename, expecting she'd get it. But no, it was the other two that did and laughed, leaving Anna with no clue at all. "Menstruation." I said and she replied with the longest Aaaaaaaah.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen Marcus and his friend Servyr, since that time in the island.
"Where's your grandfather?" I asked the two idiots, and they simply shrugged. Divina came in from the kitchen's doors with red velvet cupcakes in hand.
"Holy shit." I guess this is now my official signature words, when I'm overly emotional. Divina laughed and handed me one. This is my favorite thing in the whole wide world!
"Marcus flew to Rome with Sevyr, just this morning. They were in a hurry, so they weren't able to say their goodbyes." Divina said, while she was handing each of us a piece of cupcake, after that's done she sat next to Tristan. Then she looked at me. "We'll try to find the person responsible behind your hypnotism."
"It will be hard, but we'll try kid." Jill suddenly made an appearance and sat next to me. I gave him a smile.
"Its fine no need to stress. I've found my true self. I think there's no need to dig more." I lied, and tried so hard to make it convincing. I really don't want to bring trouble to this good people – I mean good vampires – especially with my complicated past.
They fell silent with my words, I even caught Divina and Jill exchange glances. Jill held my hand. "Kid if you ever need help. We have your back."
"You remind us so much of our dear Victoria." Divina's eyes starts to tear up. "Don't hesitate to come to us, okay?" I nodded. But honestly, I'm starting to get annoyed by how they see me as someone I'm not.
I'm not Victoria Hale! I'm Victoria Sanchez!

8 177El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.
