《The Nerd that turned out to be Vampire-ish [Wattys2015]》CHAPTER 13: Goodbye for now.

Everything happened so fast that I didn't even remember how I ended up in my room, and in my apartment for that matter. I tried to replay the scene after Tristan got on shark mode.
So, I ran, ran as fast as I could and got out of their condo in a speed of light – well I'm partly exaggerating – I didn't even mind all the stares of those people whom I passed. It felt like the whole world had gone on slow motion and I turned out to be flash. Well in my head that's how it turned out.
I took a taxi and-- yeah, so that's how I ended up here. Pretty much normal, it would've been awesome if I run barefooted that would have added more drama, but I hate sweat. Even on desperate times, I still don't want to sweat myself.
I didn't even want to think any more on how or why Tristan acted like that, I actually gave up. My theories were irrelevant. If I want answers then he's the only one who can give me that, but I'm too scared to go near him, for now.
I've stood up to Will who transformed into hulk, and Divina's maleficent alter ego, but Tristan? I turned coward and would love the idea of a shell behind my back to hide from.
I'm still panting for no reason though. I buried my head under my pillow, because I suddenly hated the sight of light. Can the sun sleep for a while? Everything's better in the dark. And, I just turned emo. I sighed. I brushed all my thoughts away and fell asleep instantly.
A knock on the door pulled me out of my dreams, and it wasn't a simple knock, it was Daisy's, or is it? Yes I'm starting to get paranoid. I don't normally ask, but what's to loose.
"Who is it?"
"Do you have to ask?" Daisy's voice rang in the apartment. I feel sorry for our neighbors, to be in the same roof with us, the wild child's.
"What's the password?" I joked. Even though what happened earlier was bothering me, I can't let Daisy sense that.
"Seriously?" She asked and I opened the door.
"Correct." I said to her and she replied stupid, then laughed. "Okay so what's up?" I asked her but she didn't reply, she just stared at me like I'm an alien.
"What's with the get up? That's not your night gown, right?" I looked down. Shit. I forgot to change, my feet is probably still dirty from all the running.
"No. I just tried it on. It's a gift from my aunt." I lied swiftly, and didn't even break eye contact, which is hard when you try to sell a lie.
"Hmmmm." Oh god. I hope she doesn't smell anything fishy, well aside from my now sweaty underarm. "Lucky bitch. Anyways, you still need to get ready? Because were going soon."

"Where?" I said dumbfounded.
She rolled her eyes. "Did you crack your head or something?" I shook my head, I still don't know what she's talking about. Then she gave up after ten seconds of staring at me, it's a confirmation ritual she does to see if I'm joking or not. "The movies! You know, what we talked about the other night?"
The memory flooded in my head. "Oh yeah."
But I'm not in the mood right now. Should I say that to her? Then she'll have to pry what's going on. So...
"Give me five minutes to wear my ball gown."
"Okay Cinderella. Don't forget your glass slipper." She laughed and closed the door when she left.
"Yes. Fairy godmother." I shouted and then slumped on my bed, sighing heavily.
I went to my closet and took the first shirt and jeans I got my hands on. Luckily, it wasn't a burlap sack. It's a grey V-neck shirt and black skinny jeans. I looked at the mirror and sighed. Damn. I can't fix this face in just a minute. I gave up and decide to just style my hair into a messy ponytail, I didn't even care to brush it. I looked at my shoe rock, and remembered that I left my shoes in their condo. Fuck. So, I have no choice but to wear my old black converse, I think no one would notice that it hasn't been washed for a century.
I went to Daisy's room and saw Jen sitting on the bed's lower bunk. "Hey." I sat right next to her. She's one of our friends here in the apartment, though her room is on the first floor. She's chubbier than Daisy and I, but the tallest of us three. Her pinky white skin is the exact polar opposite of my tanned-ness.
Suddenly my stomach started to rumble.
She laughed. "You hungry?"
"Nooo." I said with an exaggerated expression. My sarcasm started to kick in, but she's used to it and laughed.
"Daisy hurry up." We both said. As we watch Daisy going around and round her room, frantic.
"My wallet! I can't find it!" This is a usual thing for us. If it's not her wallet, it's her I.D, if not, it's other things that's essential to where we're going.
"Did you check under the pillow?" Jen asked and Daisy said yes, but she checked it again otherwise.
"Under the bed?" I suggested. She threw her mattress up and laughed. She found it.
While walking down the stairs, Jen grabbed my hand. "What happened?" She looked at the bondage I desperately tried to put around it. She studies pharmacy but has the making of a doctor.
"It's nothing. I accidently cut myself." To my surprise she opened the bondage and looked more closely to the wound.

"It's deep, but clean." She stopped in front of her room, which is the first one we'll see going down from our floor. "I'll wrap it up. You did a bad job at it."
We went to a different mall, not the one where Will and I was supposed to meet on our study date yesterday, which is good, because I don't want to bump on anyone with elf-like beauties.
I decided to have my dinner – bacon cheeseburger and fries – while watching the movie. Daisy and Jen had the usual popcorns, and they bought two boxes for each of them, one is for the trailers and the other was for the main event, the Jurassic World.
My phone kept on ringing but it's on silent mode, so I can only feel its vibration on my ass – wait that sounded weird – just to clear things, I don't have a vibrator on my ass, nor is my phone shoved in my ass. It's tucked inside one of the back pockets of my jeans.
I took my phone out, pissed at the person who has the nerves to disturb me, but then I saw the number, it was Will's. He also left a couple of text messages; asking where I am, the we-need-to-talk, and of course how can I miss the let-us-explain.
I sighed. I don't want to deal with this yet. I turned off my phone and even took its battery out. Well, I'm surprised at myself at how peanut bitter I can be.
After that phone call, I wasn't able to fully focus on the movie. My mind is drifting to some place where it shouldn't be, that memory of Tristan trying to kiss, or bite, or I don't know what he's trying to do to my neck, which was very odd and out of character.
Weird theories popped in my head again, like; does he have a weird fetish for blood? Is he aroused when he sees one? That's just gross to the highest level, even Mr. Grey is not like that in 50 shades. I groaned so loud that I got the attention of Daisy, Jen, and also the people sitting around us.
"You okay?" Daisy asked, weirded by my actions.
"Yeah. It's just some of those people in that movie is stupid." I said, hoping the darkness would conceal my anxious face.
They seemed to believe my excuse and went on watching.
I stood up. I can't stand seated any longer, I feel like a fish out of water, I need some oxygen. I waved at the two who's so focused on the screen, and when I got their attention, I told them I'm going to the restroom. They just nodded and returned their heads to where it was pasted, on the screen.
The cinema was located on the mall's rooftop. As I got out, I was welcomed by the air's chilly wind. I hugged myself and rubbed my arms, hoping to generate fire, I mean heat. The cold air on my face were like tiny slaps of nature, it was weirdly comforting.
I'm seated at a bench outside, overlooking the city, taking comfort of the night's lights and chilly companion. I didn't want to go back in there. So I decided to text Daisy and Jen that I'll just wait for them here, which reminded me I should turn it back off again, incase Will bombards me with more calls.
I closed my eyes for a brief moment, wanting to feel the cold atmosphere.
"Are you planning on getting sick?" I heard a familiar voice right next to me. I jolt out of my seat and came face to face with the person I was trying to avoid. Tristan.
"How..." As always he didn't let me finish.
"I overheard your conversation with your friend. And had a wild guess you'd be here, which is the mall closest to your place."
"Okay... You're wasting more saliva than usual. What gives?" I started to slide my ass to the corner of the bench, I needed distance from him.
"You're scared..." His eyes darted to my bandaged hand and sighed. Then he looked at me with an expression I've never seen before, sadness. "I can't blame you for that. You should probably..." He paused and cleared his throat. "...stay away from me, from now on." He sighed again, and stood up.
"Can I at least hear the long story behind that?" He stopped walking when I finally had the guts to hold him.
I grabbed his arm, when he was an inch away from pushing the button of the elevator. I know this scene is overly dramatic like in the movies, but better late than never. I mean, it's too early to see the end of this friendship that's just even starting.
He turned and a small smile crept on his face. He ruffled my hair, like he did once when he escorted me to bed. "I'm sorry hobbit. I can't."
I'm shocked. I was not able to process what he just said. I thought he's here to patch things up, or was he here to say goodbye?
I stayed frozen, and just stared at his retreating back as he went towards the elevator. I sighed, he didn't even looked back. He's gone, maybe not forever, I'd probably still see him around, but our friendship? I don't know where it's going, maybe in the trash, but I'm still hoping it would be recycled...in the near future.
Goodbye nerd... for now.
