《The little vampire- the darkest light》The run down

Carters POV
There he was, inches away looking down at me. He was still hidden mostly in the shadows but I could make out a small smile, besides that I couldn't read his emotions. I was stunned, how was he here? Not that I was complaining, I wanted to see
Him again—not just in my dreams.
"H—hi" I stammer, without moving from the position on the floor
"You don't remember me Do you?" He questions but how could I forget him...he's Gorgeous. He was the definition of the man of my dreams; tall, built, mysterious, dark hair and smooth skin. I couldn't help but blush when looking at him (or thinking about him)
"What? Of course I remember you—Gregory" saying his name for the first time out loud sent butterfly's into my stomach
"I never told you my name" his expression changes from Neutral to stone cold, by his reaction I guess i said the correct name
"Uhh you did...in my dream" I was actually embarrassed to say that, now he knows I've been dreaming about him. I sound so lame, like a typical teenage girl in lifetime movies.
Instead if responding to my confession he just chucked under his breath with a eye roll (super hot)
Before I could say anything else four more shadows appeared behind Gregory. They all were dressed in the same fashion as he was, instantly I could tell they were also vampires. I pointed a trembling finger at them and pushed my back farther against the wall, terrified I would become a meal for the new members.
"Carter" Gregory spoke again and his voice instantly makes me relax "we aren't going to hurt you" and I believed him. I don't know why but I could sense when he was telling me the truth
"Carter!" Tony appears from behind the group of vampires
"Tony!" What the hell was going on. I get up from the ground and run (attempted to run is more like it) to him embracing him on a hug
"Tony what is going on"
"It seems like you know" he says with a tone I never heard him use with me before "how do you know Gregory"
That question caused a blush to creep across my face
"Uhhh" I didn't know what to say exactly
"You're the carter" a young girl about Tony's age walks toward me "we have been quite curious about you and how you were able to break through our brothers hard shell" her eyes twinkled at me. I finally came to the realization
"This is your family" I looked at Gregory and he nodded at me. Before he could answer the young girl started to speak again
"I'm Anna by the way. You said you've been dreaming about Gregory? How romantic" she dramatically put her hands together "he's also been dreaming about you as well. Very frequently that is" she smiled again. Gregory has also been dreaming about me? Now I don't feel as embarrassed, but instead I feel really happy
"Anna enough" the older man said, causing an annoyed look to appear on Anna's face
I had no idea what to say. Nothing about this was normal, I wanted to talk to Gregory.
"Let's all sit down and talk about this" the older woman said in a calming and reassuring voice

Gregory walked closer to me "it's okay" he told me and my heart couldn't stop pounding
"Carter" Tony said again pulling my arm "this is Fredrick and freda" he motioned to the older couple, which i was guessing their parents "this is rudolf my friend and Anna. And well...I guess you already know Gregory" Tony said with a small hint of awkwardness in his voice
"Hi" was all I was able to get out
Once Gregory moved more into the light I could see him better...he looked different. As I looked I could see small burn marks on the corner of his mouth, his skin wasn't as vibrate as before and instead of having bright red eyes they were darker red. It's as if he lost his shine...and what was up with the burns?
I couldn't stop starring at him, my eyes wouldn't budge
"What" he questioned me looking self conscious
"What happened to you" I asked as I stepped closer, he didn't move
"Nothing" he said but I knew he was lying, I engraved every part of him in my memory and now he was different. I continued to step closer to him, closing the small gap we had between us.
We were inches apart and my eyes never left him, I reach out to touch his face and when I do we both flinch. Why did he flinch? No idea. Why did I ? Because he wasn't ice cold like at the graveyard but now more lukewarm. I looked into his eyes and ran my finger over the burns.
"You're warm" I inform him
"So" he continues to look into my eyes, his tone was blunt with a hint of hidden emotion
"You weren't warm before. And you're eyes...there darker. And you have burns on your lips....what happened...."
"I told you, nothing"
"Well actually" rudolf began But Gregory cut him off before he could speak anymore "it's nothing. I'm fine"
I pull away and step back, my find unable to understand what's going on.
"Carter" Tony spoke again "a vampire hunter found them and invaded their home with traps trying to kill them. We were all able to escape but they have no where to go now. I told them they can stay here until"
"Until what?"
"Until we become humans again" Fredrick spoke
Great another thing I have to keep up with
"What?" I questioned the group (including tony)
"We have a lot to inform you about" Anna spoke and grabbed my hand "oh I can see why Gregory can't stop thinking about you, you're stunning" she added "Anna" Gregory spoke again, obviously annoyed. I was flattered, he thought I was stunning
"Sit down sweetheart, let's fill you in" freda spoke and we formed a circle in the basement
Freda and Fredrick explained the last 300 years for me: the comet and lost amulet, the history of vampire hunters, rookery, how tony and rudolf met and how Tony's nightmares have been about the comet and their most recent attack.
"So you all went and drank the cows? And now you're all right?" I asked and there was a brief pause
"Kind of" Tony said
"Well kind of what" I ask
Tony points to Gregory who was across from me. Lord why was he so captivating.

"What? A cows not good enough for you?" I question Gregory
"Not exactly" Tony said
"It's nothing" Gregory's tone was dripping in annoyance, glaring at tony
"It seems like something" I shoot back
"Carter. Drop it." He was serious but so was I
I could tell his family was watching our bantering with much amusement
"So how do we find this amulet" I change the subject realizing Gregory is going to be stubborn and ill just have to ask tony later
Fredrick starts informing me about the leads he was gotten throughout the years. During his ongoing speech I realized how cold it was in the basement, not only was in dark and wet but the brick walls and concrete floor provided little warmth and my shorts and tank top did nothing for me. Tony and I sat on an old chest together while the sacksville-Bagg family all were opposite from us—Fredrick and freda standing, Gregory leaning on a support bean, Anna sitting on an old chair and rudolf constantly moving around and touching things. I was still skeptical of them, how could I not be? They are vampires. But I wasn't scared of them. They could of eaten tony and never of came here, or, they could have eaten us both and stayed in our basement. But yet, they didn't, they actually seemed normal.
I begin to rub my legs and arms to provide myself with slight warmth and soothing the goosebumps that were visible. Tony was bundled up in long pants and a pull over sweatshirt, the cold didn't phase him at all. I continued to rub my legs harshly and I could feel Gregory's eyes starting at me.
I have to admit it was really hard not too constantly look at him but I forced myself not too. I could get lost in those eyes: thinking about why he was being so stubborn and about his past...or just not thinking at all. Just looking at him, that's it.
I met his eyes once more, now rubbing my arms. Everytime our eyes meet fireworks go over in my chest, My heart does flips in my stomach, my brain melts and I end up with a goofy expression on my face.
I must have been lost in my thought because next thing I know Gregory was handing me a blanket, as if he could read my mind.
"Thanks" I reached out to grab the blanket, our fingers grazing each other.
His family stopped talking and watched how we interacted with one another. Was it awkward? Hell yeah. But was it also undeniably natural? Yes. It was like a middle school crush where you over think every single action but where you're also confident around each other. It was strange, I never felt this way for someone, Nevermind a vampire. But how could I feel this way?? I didn't anything about him, besides his whole back story, his family and his name.
I wrapped the blanket around me and it gave me instant warmth (okay I didn't know who's blanket it was and when it was last washed BUT it was really comfy and it's a weird night so I'm just going to roll with it)
The seven of us continued to talk more about the possibilities of the amulets location but also how the comet is over 2 weeks away so our basement is now a extend and stay hotel for the family of five. It was a lot to process, a lot.
Tony let out the first yawn causing a rippling effect over to me. Checking my phone the time read 5:00 AM.
"The sun is going to be up soon" I announced
"We need to light proof the basement" rudolf spoke and we all agreed. Finding old towels and sheets we all taped and pinned the fabric over all windows, causing the basement to be even darker.
"We will need to start searching for the amulet tomorrow night again" Fredrick announced
"But what about rookery" Anna asked
"We can't just sit down here" Gregory voice made my cheeks blush "we have to find the amulet before the comet"
"We will just have to take extra precautions" freda spoke
"Carter and I can go with you!" Tony volunteered us "our parents aren't home for a few more days. You can do the flying and we can deal with people and light"
"That does sound like a good idea" freda contemplated "what do you think carter"
"Uhhh" i looked at all the faces, they needed tony and I, and I felt as if I owed it to them.
"Of course, anything we can do" I smiled
"We should be getting to bed" Tony said and with that the family started settling into their makeshift beds. Tony went over to rudolf and wished him a goodnight and how they are '0n it'.
I walked over to Gregory, I wanted to wish him a goodnight. He never takes his eyes full off of me so he knew I was approaching him.
We were facing eachother, inches away
"Sleep well, Carter" he told me and reached out to touch my face. He was a mixture of course and delicate when it came to me, as if both sides of him were fighting for control. His natural hard side and the soft side he tired to use for me.
"You too" I told him as I nuzzled my face into his palm. There was still something off about him but I knew he wouldn't tell me
"I hope to see you in my dreams again" he whispered into my ear and moved his hand down to my hand that was gripping the blanket around me Causing me to blush extremely
"I think you will" i told him as I turned away and walked up the stairs with tony
Holy shit. What a fucking night I thought to myself.
"Hey" I asked tony once we made it up the second set of stairs
"Yeah?" He asked me
My mind raced with questions to ask tony but, I decided against it
"Try and get some sleep" I told him and we went to our separate rooms.
I plopped on the bed and covered myself with the blankets. The time read 6:21 as I passed out, hoping to see my vampire in my dreams.

Orc Lord
A young woman just starting out in life is killed tragically in a car accident. However, she soon regains consciousness as a baby in a fantasy world. But... she's an Orc?! It would be good if she could just enjoy her new life quietly, but she seems destined for war and carnage. How will she fare as a monster in a fantasy world? ________________ This story will have a total of three arcs: Arc 1, The Birth of Babylon: 571 pages (complete) Arc 2, The Baphomet War: 420 pages (complete) Arc 3, The Mad Queen of Carnage: (in progress) ________________ Ultimately, I'm writing this for enjoyment. If you enjoy it too, fantastic! Gore: Extremely infrequent, but moderately intense. Profanity: There are a few swear words here and there, as well as some more creative insults. Traumatizing Content: While I'm at it, there are some questionable morals displayed (mostly after chapter 77). So far we can check off slavery, brainwashing, war, and genocide. This story starts off very Light Novel-ish because I was reading a lot of them at the time. The writing style gradually matures as it goes. Sorry, but I don't have the stamina to go back and fix everything, even if I know it gets pretty roughshod at times. New readers, please keep in mind, I make use of "unreliable narrators" at times. My story accepts donations, but it is free to read and I've only uploaded it here. Lastly, Orc Lord is a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying ending. One of my long breaks triggered a dishonor, but I'll redeem it someday when it's actually finished. I'm the ultimate necromancer author. ;P
