You fell in love with the man know as Yoriichi Tsugikuni. It was too obvious for you to hide it from anyone, you didn't try at least. Your heart would flutter every time you glanced at him or we're around him. Even if he looked at you, just for a second, your heart would explode.
You fell in love with him after he saved you from a demon. You were outside at night drying clothes when it attacked, luckily he was there to stop it. He offered to teach you breath styles.
You learnt the "breath of love".
Even though you were capable of taking care of yourself now, you didn't want to do it. You wanted him to save you. The more he sees you, maybe he'll fall for you.
It obviously didn't work, he just wasn't interested. "Yoriichi, let's go grab something to eat," you suggested.
He simply brushed you aside and walked away from you. Anytime you tried to ask him, he'd just leave.
Sometimes you'd bluntly say how you feel, which made anyone who was there embarrassed.
"Hey, hey, Yoriichi! I love you~."
Again, he'll brush you to the side and leave. Everyone was beginning to feel sorry for you. You'll try constantly to make the man fall for you, but he'll just reject you over and over.
Eventually, one day, you gave up. You realized you were chasing a pointless love. He didn't feel the same way as you and you accepted that.
You apologized to him after you realized this. Days later, no one saw you around Yoriichi unless you asked for some guidance or pointers.
Yoriichi had to admit it as well, he was getting quite lonely without you around him all the time. He just began to fall for you.
One day, he came to your home while the moon was shining. Being the silent person he is, he didn't talk much at all. Resulting in both of you sitting in silence.

"Would you like anything Yoriichi?" you'd ask trying to break the silence.
He'd simply shake his head no. You continue to take yes or no questions which ended all the same way.
"Why did you come here today?" you asked him.
He kept silent for a little while, then answered. "I came to ask if you still have a feeling for me."
"That's a weird question," you said.
"Is it?" he said blinking in confusion.
"No, not really. It just kinda weird that you're asking me this," you answered.
"I apologize." he looked the other way, looking outside the window.
You looked outside as well. You didn't realize, but Yoriichi moved and seated next to you. He wrapped his hands around your body and pulled you in closer.
"Ah? Whatcha doing Yoriichi?" you asked him.
He kept silent. It didn't bother you though. His body felt warm and safe.
Maybe I do still have feelings for him...

Beyond the Horizon's Eye
It is less than two weeks after the event known as the Flux Causality, and two days after the Grand Council has put forth the edict demanding the immediate retrieval and deletion of all Stringhoppers. Finding such Travelers, however, is proving more difficult than expected. A young boy and his sister find themselves violently taken from their world to another, and soon thereafter are forcibly separated. Now sold into slavery, the young man must find not only a reason to survive but a purpose to carry him home. The journey has just begun, and the hardest step is always the first one. ~ This is my attempt at both the Xianxia/Wuxia and Portal/Isekai genre of fiction that I love, and the means to provide a story set in such guidelines, while distancing myself from some of the more common tropes. I do hope you enjoy the story I shall endeavor to tell. ~ Average post between 1000 - 3000 words. This is a work in progress, and will be edited and adjusted over time. If you’re interested in something a bit more GameLIT, you might want to check out my second story on Royal Road, “The Dawnfire Archives”. My newest story is a combination of both genres, but with a female main character at the helm. Feel free to check out "The Card Thief of Culnivar"!
