Clutching his mothers' book tightly, Midoriya did his best to keep up with the quick footsteps of the girl in front of him. The seemingly endless forest supposedly had a certain tree where important spells were cast for the first time. Though its not like he could blame her; the freckled boy was quite excited himself. Today was the day. The day he'd finally use the book.
Hopefully. They still didn't have the wand after all. Even if they don't practice anything, just seeing the tree is enough.
Soon enough, Ochako started to speed up. 'we must be close!' The boy thought, now sprinting as well.
A few more twists and turns, and they stopped, arriving at their destination.
"This...is the spell tree!" the brunette spun around and lifted her hand up to show the 'spell tree'. Hues of green ferns and fauna crowded the tree; its branches outstretched, with glowing balls of yellow light on most of them. Surely bigger than expected, but it truly was magical.
"The actual spell-spot is on the other side, follow me!" she skipped along the narrow path as Deku followed, colorful spores along the ground.
Indeed it was, a cauldron coated with vines keeping it in place, smaller tree stumps around it like a mystic ritual.
"This is so cool!" Deku finally spoke, Uraraka chuckling at the nerdy undertones in his voice.
"I felt the same way when I first came here with my parents." The girl sat down on one of the large tree roots and the latter sat on a stump. She continued;
"I was young, but all this really stuck with me. My folks said that all magic users use this place to meet up and practice together. It's kinda wholesome, isn't it?"
Midoriya nodded, taking out his journal and leaving the third note today;
'Spell tree is used for witch gatherings(yay!)'
Ochako didn't see what he was writing, but respected his privacy. She got off the bark and picked up a book and wand on the far side of it. It was her spell book!
The sudden movement of the brunette made Izuku look up at Uraraka, her book in hand, flipping through the golden pages. He stepped up and gazed at her wand. The staff was quite large, and looked to be more of a walking stick. It was basic; tree bark matching her hair, curving into a circle with a peach ball of energy in the middle. With a small phoenix feather tied to the shaft, it still looked quite pretty.

"So does...does that actually work?" He pointed to the wand is if he were a child. She nodded, and was about to speak when,
"There you guys are!" A small yet familiar voice called. Turning to where the voice came from, a small ball of blue light quickly turns into a girl; Nejire.
They were almost happy to see her, until they noticed the worry on her face.
"Hadou, what's wrong?" Midoriya asks. She turns to Ochako, and utters; "She's here."
A shiver goes down her spine, and the brunette grabs her wand with a tense expression. "Where is she."
"The cafeteria, I think she's after Bakugo."
"Kacchan? What do they want with him?"
"Follow me, Midoriya." The blue girl quickly flew back to the school with Ochako and Deku close behind.
The students arrived at the back of the school, and snuck in through a window close to the ground. Quietly but quickly running to the cafeteria, Deku's mind raced as to who or what would be in the building right now.
~
"You fuckers all ready know why I'm here, hand him over."
The voice was all to familiar. For Bakugo and the students alike. Uraraka scoffed. "Mitsuki."
"W-Wait, you know her?" Deku asked in disbelief. Ochako nodded and the two turned back to face the woman.
"I know he's here, hand him over!" she yelled again, this time with a growl that caused some of the students to shudder.
'Wait..."he"? She can't be talking about-' Deku looked back at Bakugo, and was shocked to see his expression. His whole body trembling, sweat on his face and near crying, the blonde stared at his friend for help.
And he was about to say something to him, to help, but a puff of smoke seemingly out of nowhere brought them back to the present.
The students all collectively stepped back, aside from Uraraka and Nejire, who kept their stance in front.
A figure began to surface, some sort of animal. Wait-no. They clearly knew what it was.
The witch cautiously took out her wand, and got into a battle stance. Hado sheilded the two boys and backed them away from the witch.

Amidst all this confusion and fear, a robotic voice called out;
"SCATTER!!"
Not even a second later, the students all followed suit and found their own hiding places as if they've done this millions of times. It was routine at this point and although they were scared they were all so quick and so quiet that Deku had no clue where half of them went.
"Come at me you bitch!" Ochako yelled. The demonic animal seemed to grin evily, before charging towards the girl.
"You get the hell away from her!!" Bakugo yelled, catching the brunette off-gaurd. She tried once again to focus on a spell but to no avail, the wolf knocking her over and attempting to bite.
Bakugo and Izuku were left in the open, Nejire flying off somewhere else. as Mitsuki caught sight of them. She glared of them and charged towards the boys. The greenette quickly ducked under a table though Katsuki was frozen in fear.
Looking at their horrified faces, Deku could see that the students were all so fragile. Every single one, even the teachers, were afraid of her. What did she do to them before..?
Bakugo gets knocked to the ground as she pounces. Out of pure adrenaline, Katsuki swings at her head and frees himself. With fire in her eyes, she lunges with sharp exposed teeth. He quickly throws his arm in her mouth in an attempt to pry her away, but she's too strong. Mitsuki effortlessly sinks her teeth into his arm, awakening screams of pain and fear from his chest.
Deku, along with the other students, were frozen. He could only watch as his friend cried out in pain, his face paled.
Where are the teachers?
Is anyone coming to help?
'Am I even strong enough to fight her?!"
No, of course not. Uraraka was the strongest and the bravest so far, both things Izuku isn't.
He closed his eyes and wished he's never have even came to this hellish school.
"Cover your ears!!" he heard someone shout. It was Nejire!
But before Deku could follow orders, a loud deafening cry shattering windows, and drawing blood from his sensitive ears. Covering them quickly, Izuku noticed that Mitsuki was overwhelmed by the sound. The woman is still in her wolf form, her ears can't be covered. She backed off and angrily shook her head in agony. All Might ran in front of Bakugo and brought up a shield of bones around him. Mitsuki bent down and whimpered in pain. Glaring at the teachers she was about to pounce when Midnight tore off a piece of her thin sleeves, and an aroma emitted from her arm, sending Mitsuki to sleep. Eraserhead wrapped her up in his scarf as she turned back to normal.
At this point Deku snapped out of his fear, and ran to his friend as he slowly got up. The other students stared at him in disbelief, as if he had broken a law. But he didn't care.
"Kacchan!" he yelled. The boy in question turned to face him with a weak smile.
At this point Kirishima got up to and ran to the blonde. "Are you alright? How bad does it hurt?" Midoriya asked worriedly.
"Wolfie, are you okay?" Mina flew over to him.
"I-I'm fine." The wolf tried his best to stop tears from coming out as he spoke. Physically, be wasn't fine at all. But the fact that these people he just met cared so much meant a lot.
"Yaoyorozu, take him to Recovery Girl." Midnight ordered. Momo quickly emerged from her hiding spot-in a closet they didn't even know existed-and nodded. "Come on you all, if we get there in time the wound won't get infected." she motioned them to go down a dim hallway, lantern in hand.
"She's right. Come on Bakugo." Ejirou stated.
The students followed the serpent, keeping up with her fast pace as she led them to the infirmary.
But one thing was still unclear...
These monsters...are all kids. And the adults just protect them.
...why are they feared?

New Paris [a Modern-day LitRPG]
New Paris [OR] I reincarnated into the world of my favorite wuxia novel as an S ranker with unbalanced skills. [Volume 1] - Completed I was one of those people who only stood out in a crowd when their name was called. Then, I died. But instead of heaven, hell, or anything else, I found myself in the body of a young woman whom I did not recognise at first. You see, I had this novel I was obsessed with. The novel was a fairly popular wuxia that got a few sequels, and a handful of spinoffs. One of these spinoffs took place in Paris, where the main cast fought against a multi-millionaire villain. When I woke up after dying, I eventually realised that I was now the third daughter of this multi-millionaire end-game boss in a spin-off of a sequel of my favourite novel. Does this make any sense to you? Because it doesn't to me. But I guess I might as well make the most of it now. Just gotta stay away from some of the more unstable main characters and cut all ties with my 'family' to avoid certain death. [Volume 2] - Currently Airing It had not been a good idea to interfere with the characters of the original novel. Had I known it was going to cause a butterfly effect, I would have stayed in my lane and minded my business. Although, between the suspicious attacks I seem to constantly find myself in the center of, and my 'family' who is the living definition of the expression 'rich pricks', I’m not entirely sure my current predicament would have been avoidable. But maybe it isn't to be avoided; maybe I should embrace this opportunity that has been given to me and become the hero of this story? At least it's certain that I can't do worse than the original protagonist in terms of moral ambiguity; with immortality already in my pocket, and no other useful skills to account for. However, if I were to follow this path, I would have a lot to lose, including an upcoming promotion and my growing relationship with my crush. With power, glory and whatever else on one side, and my wellbeing and happiness on the other, even in this magical wuxia world, the choice is easy to make.
