ZARA

Her brother has called her every day this week, catching Zara up on all the atrocities their parents have been up to. And every day, Zara feels like she wants to pull her hair out.

Laying on her bed dejectedly on Friday night, she watches as Laura dresses up. She's meeting Michael tonight, and will be gone pretty much the entire weekend.

"What time is he coming?" Zara asks Laura.

"Eight," she replies, putting on a coat of shimmery lip gloss. "Why don't you get out of bed? I hear there's a party tonight, for freshmen."

"Nah," Zara rolls over.

Laura smiles at the thought that she would see Michael again after two weeks.

"Stop smiling, the happiness is ruining the aura of this room," Zara remarks, though she can't see Laura.

Laura laughs. She is used to this.

"Shut up! I'm happy okay?" Laura runs a brush through her hair one more time.

"Okay Rapunzel," Zara rolls her eyes just as Laura's phone rings.

Michael is here.
