《The End》Part 34: Ruined

Rosa sat still on her bed. Afraid to make a noise. She had heard the front door open and slam shut. Slowly she slid off her bed, avoiding the spots in her floor where it always creaked.
Then she realized how ridiculous it was considering she was a vampire. She walked downstairs and sighed. It was Elena and Matt.
"Hey." She said calmly and sat onto the couch. Rosa looked at Matt and Elena's faces and sighed once more. "What?" She asked in a bitter tone.
Elena looked around the room, awkwardly. "We need Klaus' help. It's for Jeremy." She mumbled.
Rosa looked at Matt who quickly looked away. "Liar. Why do you need Klaus' help?"
"Fine. Kol took Damon." Rosa began to laugh. Matt and Elena watched her curiously. "Rosa!"
"No! Damon is not my problem. And he's definitely not worth talking to Klaus. I'm on a Klaus detox, so go away."
Elena and Rosa stared at each other angrily.
—
Rosa sat next to Elena on the sofa. Taking turns glaring at Elena to Klaus. Klaus watched Rosa carefully. Elena watched both of them awkwardly.
"A big ironic , you coming to me for help. Weren't your friends just trying to bury me in a cement tomb?" Klaus looked at Rosa who stared at him angrily. He quickly dropped his smirk and turned back to Elena.
"This is your fault. You started this when you forced Jeremy to kill those vampires."
"And now my little brat of a brother has gone and made things worse. Well, he never did like Damon. I suppose I should do something, shouldn't I?"
Rosa and Klaus looked at each other. It was obvious he was sorry, but he didn't regret anything. She pulled her eyes away from his stared down at the floor.
"Call him off, Klaus." Elena told him.
Klaus looked at Elena, anger rising. "You are in no position to make demands. Whilst I'd like to cure you to make more hybrids, I do have other reasons for finding the cure, not the least of which is destroying it so you lot can't use it against me."
"Call him off." Rosa said standing up. The two looked at her. Rosa was angry. The possibility of giving her the cure hasn't crossed his mind and it never would. "Please."
Klaus smiled softly and pulled out his phone. Rosa rolled her eyes and walked out of the room.
—
Elena and Rosa were walking out of the house when Klaus appeared in front of them. Elena jumped slightly while Rosa scoffed.
"You said we could talk in person." Klaus told her.
Rosa looked at Klaus and then to Elena. "No, I'm pretty sure you said that. Me and Elena have to go. Bye now." Rosa was about to walk away when Klaus took her arm in his hand. "I'll kick you." She warned.
Klaus chuckled softly. Elena watched the two confused. "Look, I have to go. Rosa stay here if you want, but I'm leaving now."
"What—" Rosa watched as her sister walked back to the car. "Jerk." She muttered under her breath. "Talk." She said to Klaus.

He looked at her sadly for a moment before beginning to speak. "Well—"
"Why can't you just let me be happy...let us be happy? It's like you don't care right up until the moment you know you lost me. There was no reason to kill her. Why...why did you do it?"
"I thought you wanted me to talk." Rosa glared at him and he nodded. "I don't know. I was angry and she was there and it was so easy."
The girl scoffed, "It was easy? That's your excuse? I was standing up to my friends about you. I was risking losing them for you all while you were killing Mrs.Lockwood."
Klaus sighed. He didn't know that she had stuck up for him, but it didn't matter much at this point. Rosa turned to the sound of the car turning on and Elena driving away. Only seconds after she got a text saying she was sorry.
"Shit." She muttered. "See what you did. Now I'm stranded."
The two stared at each other before Rosa finally turned around and sat on the couch. Klaus hesitantly sat next to her.
"I'm trying to hate you. You make it so easy, yet impossible. I can't do it. Because no matter what you do, something keeps me from hating you and I hate it. It's not fair. I hate everyone and for some strange reason I can't hate you." Klaus watched her with caring eyes. "It's not fair. It's not fair that we don't get to chose who we love and hate because I want to hate you so much, but I can't. It's not even a question anymore...you're my soulmate."
Klaus looked at the girl, gently placing his hand on hers. Rosa slowly pulled her hand away and sighed. "I've ruined this haven't I?"
"Let's be honest, it's always been ruined."
—
When Rosa walked into her house she smiled with relief. "You're back." She said excitedly. "Did you hear Elena abandoned me at Klaus's?"
"I did." Jeremy said as he hugged his sister.
"It was awful. He made me talk about feelings and stuff." Jeremy made a face and Rosa shook her head and fell onto the couch.
Rosa looks at Elena who watched them seeming slightly scared. Jeremy shrugged.
"Did you try to kill our sister?" Rosa smirked. "Should have finished the job."
Rosa and Jeremy smiled while Elena rolled her eyes. "Okay, okay. It's time for bed. Both of you, now."
"You can't tell me to go to bed. I'm a creature of the night. I got vampire things to do." Rosa said with a smile. "But Jeremy should take his little nap."
The two laughed as they walked up the stairs. Just as Rosa was about to walk into her room Jeremy turned around. "He doesn't know what he's missing." He told her. Rosa looks at him confused. "He doesn't realize how important you are."
Rosa smiled. "You wanna go to the grill?" Rosa asked. Jeremy nodded. "Good. I could use a drink." Jeremy looked at her as she started to laugh.

Rosa and Elena stood by the phone waiting for Stefan to pick up. They were more than surprised when Rebekah picked up.
"Hello, Elena." She said.
"What did you do to Stefan?" Elena asked quickly.
Rosa tried to think of why Rebekah would have Stefan's phone. "Rescued him from his old, dull life, but it keeps calling. Stefan's not in the mood to talk right now."
"Then he can listen. I know you might not care about me right now, Stefan, but Kol compelled Damon to kill Jeremy. They're somewhere in the tunnels, and it's one giant maze down here, and I can't find them, so if you still care about the cure or about Jeremy, then you can come help."
There was silence on the other end. Rosa held out her hand and Elena hesitantly gave her the phone. "Listen Stefan, stop whining and definitely stop hanging out with the blond bitch. My brother is gonna die cause of your brother. That's bound to put a strain on the friendship." Rosa handed the phone back to Elena who's eyes were wide. She hung up and stared at her sister.
—
Elena and Rosa were sat in the living room of the Salvatore house. Elena stood up, pacing the length of the room while Rosa laid back and kicked her feet up on the couch.
Stefan had actually come to help and got Damon away from Jeremy. Currently he was bleeding Damon out to get rid of the compulsion and locking him down in the cellar.
"Going to see Damon?" The girls turned to see Stefan walking into the room.
"I need to talk to him."
Rosa watched as Stefan and Elena stared at each other intensely. "Well you can't. He'll just ask you to let him out."
"I won't let him out."
Rosa scoffed. The two turned to her and she shrugged. "You won't have a choice. You're sired." Stefan told her. "That all?"
Rosa looked at Elena who seemed very uncomfortable. "Stefan, what are you doing with Rebekah? She tried to kill me."
"And this will be the second time Damon tried to kill Jeremy. So I guess nobody's perfect, right?"
Rosa stood up from the couch and slowly walked towards the two, staying out of their conversation. Why was Stefan with Rebekah?
"Are you trying to punish me? I don't know how many times I can apologize." Elena said softly.
"I never asked you to. You can do whatever you want, Elena. I really don't care."
"You're hurt. You're hurt, and you're acting out. Stefan, this isn't you."
Rosa watched them carefully. She could already tell this wouldn't end well.
"Sure it is. You've just never seen me like this. You don't know what I look like when I'm not in love with you." Rosa widened her eyes and looked at Elena who also was shocked. Stefan smiled softly. "I'll let Damon know you've stopped by."
Hesitantly Elena walked away until she made it out the door. Rosa looked at Stefan sadly. She took a deep breath, "Do what makes you happy Stefan...but she tried to kill me too."
"Rosa—"
She looked at him and smiled. "Thanks for helping Jeremy." Rosa didn't want to be angry. It wasn't her business, but she hated it. Her and Stefan were friends.
"Rosa...I'm not doing anything with Rebekah. And I won't if it means that much to you. But you should remember who you're dating."
Rosa scoffed, "Dated. For like a day." She reminded him. "I'm not Elena. I'm an angry and a selfish person. I'm angry that you're hanging out with Rebekah, even if you're not doing anything. I'm looking out for you too, but I'm angry."
Stefan smirked at Rosa. She looked him confused as he laughed.
"What?"
"I think someone's jealous."
Rosa opened her mouth wide. "I am not jealous of anything. I just don't like that blond—"
"Bitch?" Stefan finished. "I had to stop myself from laughing when I heard it."
"Well, I knew it would put a smile on your face. What about hers, though. What did she look like when I said it?"
Stefan smiled a crooked grin. "Really?" Rosa smiled. "I thought she was going to blow."
"Nice." Rosa laughed. Suddenly her phone buzzed. "It's Elena. I have to go. Bye."
—
"What is your problem?" Rosa asked as her and Elena sat opposite sides of the table.
Elena shook her head, "I can't believe you're on his side."
"I'm not on his side. Stefan is my friend. He said he and Rebekah didn't do anything, so I believe him." Elena rolled her eyes.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Rosa looked at Rosa who got up with a sigh. Only a few seconds later Elena shouted, "Rosa, your boyfriend is here."
Rosa sighed and walked to the door. "What?"
"Good evening, Gilbert clan." Klaus said cheerfully.
"What do you want, Klaus?" Elena asked.
Klaus looked at Rosa and then to Jeremy. "I've come to fetch my hunter. Seeing as how my brothers become a liability. Jeremy will be safer with me."
"I think I'll pass. I've killed enough people for you today." Jeremy said.
"You think you're safer here? Hmm. Clearly you don't know Kol. He'll stop at nothing to get what he wants, so strange as it may seem, I'm your best bet."
Rosa looked at Klaus and then to her siblings. She was about to speak, when Elena started. "Sorry, but I think we'd take our chances."
"Fine. But when Kol does come-and he will come-be sure to let me know, preferably before he burns your nice little home to the ground. And as for you, hunter, there's not shortage of people to turn or loved ones to threaten, so sleep well. We'll plan on finishing our work tomorrow."
Rosa waited until her siblings left. "Bye." She said while waving her fingers at Klaus. He smirked slightly as Rosa shut the door.

The Supernormal
In a world where fantasy has become everyday, one man stands against absurdity. The local Tower stomps through the streets. Any hedge could contain a witch. Walls regularly crumble, though none more often than the fourth. In the magical city of Blackpool, all ridiculousness is possible, and it takes everything for Jack Of All Trades to survive. Badly, at that. Perpetually late with his rent, he'll take up arms for any paying customer in order to fulfill his quest. His obstacles include polka-loving ghosts, card-game playing vampires, and the most vicious monsters of all: copyright lawyers. When he's joined by an arrogant magus and an insecure vampire, his life gets even more complicated, but no matter what kind of infuriating choose-your-own-adventure he finds himself on, one constant remains—his rent is due at the end of the month. On second thoughts, maybe he should stay in bed. The Supernormal isn't your average web-novel. It's an urban fantasy parody that saunters through a world full of the absurd, delighting in poking fun at popular media, widely-accepted ideas, and often itself. Story arcs only loosely connect through the characters, who are themselves slowly fleshed out as the story continues. Think of Discworld meets The Dresden Files meets Gintama. This novel won't be for everyone, but if it is for you, you're in for a hell of a ride.
