《The End》Part 29: The Phone Call

"So, you and Hayley are friends now?" Rosa asked confused. Right now dealing with Caroline boyfriend drama was way better than dealing with Elena going psycho and Jeremy being dead...again. Apparently that happened a lot.
"Not friends, just don't hate each other...mostly. We kind of teamed up against Klaus." Caroline bragged.
Rosa sighed, "I know you wanted me to talk to Klaus, but—"
"No buts. Even if none of us like him, you have to. I can learn to like him." Caroline said. Rosa shook her head. "I want you to be happy."
"Care, I can't be happy with Klaus. It wouldn't be possible."
"Fine. Be stubborn. But you and Klaus are going to happen."
Rosa rolled her eyes as the two hung up. She hesitated for a few minutes, debating what to do. After sitting for a while and staring at her phone, she pressed on Klaus's contact.
She brought the phone up to her ear and listened to it ring. She was very surprised that he didn't answer her. She was always the one to decline him.
After it finished ringing, Rosa decided to leave a voicemail.
"Hey, Klaus. It's Rosa. Uhm, I wanted to talk to you about something, but you didn't answer and we both know I'm not the patient type, so I'll tell you now. I think we should talk about...that hope you have. Maybe you weren't as far off as I said. I really want to talk, so call me or find me when you get this. Okay, bye."
Rosa hung up the phone and gasped. She covered her mouth with her hand. She couldn't believe she just did that. Rosa's gasp quickly turned into a smile into her hand. She just did that.
Only moments later she heard a knock at the door. "Stefan or Damon, get that." She shouted from her room. She decided that if they were going to hang around her house for hours, they could at least make her life a little easier.
Rosa leaned back on her bed and stared at her phone. She was so anxious for if he would call back.
Not long after she heard Elena scream. She ran downstairs just in time to see Klaus speeding away, Elena taken with him. Her arms fell to her side and her phone dropped out of her hand.
Stefan and Damon looked at her, but she couldn't look at them. She couldn't do anything. "I'm such an idiot." She muttered under her breath before turning around and walking back up to her room.
—
"You lost her?" Bonnie asked as her, Rosa, Stefan and Damon all stood around the kitchen.
Damon began, "Well, 'lost' is a very strong word, we just technically don't know where she is."
Rosa rolled her eyes. "They lost my sister."
"That's...fair." Damon said after a heavy breath.
"I'm more worried about what Klaus said about the hunters curse." Stefan said.
Rosa looked at Stefan and sighed. More things to worry about. "What did he say?"

"How does Klaus even know about this?" Bonnie asked.
Everyone turned to Damon, "How does Klaus know anything? Guys a billion years old."
"He said it was a witches curse." Stefan told them. He then looked at Bonnie.
"You know if I could do anything to help, I would. But I..." Bonnie said softly.
Damon quickly cut her off, "But nothing, wave your magic wand, hocus pocus, begone hunter ghostus, whatever." He said mocking the girl.
"Oh shut up, Damon. She said she can't." Rosa told him.
Damon scoffed and shook his head, "Look Rosa, we all get that you don't really care what happens to Elena. That if she died you'd be fine because you are emotionless and cruel and would be happy to get out of the Elena show. We know, but do everyone a favor and try to help her."
"I love my sister." Rosa defended.
Damon shrugged, "Are you sure?"
"Look, the spirits won't let me do the magic I'd need to break the curse. But I can ask Shane for help, he knows everything about everything." Bonnie said interrupting the pairs argument.
Stefan nodded, "Great, you two do your thing." Stefan said.
"Where are you going?" Damon then asked.
"I'm gonna get her back...and Rosa's coming." Rosa looked up at Stefan and shook her head. "Yes."
"No."
"Rosa, you're coming. Now, come." She sighed and followed Stefan slowly to the door.
—
Rosa glared at Stefan. Her arms crossed across her chest.
"It's not that bad."
"I am not getting on the back of your stupid motorcycle." Rosa said, remaining strong.
Stefan sighed, "It's not like you can get hurt. Vampire, remember." Rosa pouted and sat behind Stefan. "Call Caroline."
"Yeah, yeah." She muttered. Right as she dialed Caroline's number, Stefan sped up and Rosa almost fell off. "Cool it!" She shouted.
"Just hold on!" Rosa rolled her eyes and held on tighter to Stefan.
"Hey." Caroline said as she answered the phone.
Rosa was about to answer when Stefan started to talk, "He's got Elena. I need Tyler to get the other hybrids away, so I can get her out. I know I'm probably asking the impossible but..."
"Actually, you're not."
—
Klaus sat down on the chair and sighed. He pulled out his phone and smiled when he saw there was a message from Rosalina.
Okay, bye."
His smile only lasted for a moment until he looked at the time. Only minutes before he had shown up at her house.
—
Tyler, Caroline, Stefan and Rosa stood around Tyler's living room, discussing the plan. "Hayley is the one that helped me break the side bond. She showed me what to do, how to help. When she showed up here I thought it was just a coincidence, but it turns out she's been helping one of them, her friend Chris. And she came to help us get the rest of them out from under Klaus." Tyler told them.

"So...are you telling me that Chris isn't sired anymore."
"That's exactly what he's telling you." Caroline answered.
—
"No." Rosa said as her and Caroline sat in the car. Where they've been sitting for the past 10 minutes. "I'm not doing it."
Caroline sighed, "Please. It's for Elena." Caroline said with a hopeful smile.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
Rosa looked down at the phone sitting in her hands. Caroline giving her a confused look. "I told Klaus." She whispered quietly. Caroline looked at her friend, with a sad expression. "I called him. He didn't answer his phone, but I knew that if I didn't tell him then I would have never done it, so I left a stupid message...and he never even responded. But I'm glad he didn't because he's a jerk, and an idiot, and—and I don't know." She cried.
Caroline frowned and hugged her friend. "This is my fault. I never should have told you to do it."
"It's not your fault Caroline. I'm just stupid." Caroline rubbed Rosa's shoulder before getting out of the car. "Where are you going?"
Caroline smiled, "I'm going to beat him up." Rosa smiled slightly. "Okay, I'm not actually going to because he can kill me, but you get the point. So...you coming?"
Rosa sighed and got out of the car, following her friend into mystic grill. They found Klaus sitting at the bar, having a drink.
Caroline and Rosa walk up to him, "Place looks pretty good considering your hybrid got blown up in it." Caroline said.
Klaus turned around and was about to make some remark when he saw Rosa standing next to the blonde. "Rosalina." He said softly.
Rosa looked down at the floor and Caroline took that as her cue to continue talking. "I want you to give Elena back."
"Ah, they sent you two to sweet talk me. Well, good form, but I'm afraid I can't do that." He told them.
"Why not?" Caroline asked.
Klaus smirked, "She needs my help." Rosa looked up at him confused. "Look, I'm not going to bore you with the gory details, I know you have enough on your plate already."
Caroline looked at Rosa, "That's none of your business, actually."
Klaus nodded, "Yes, well, just know that if Tyler was still sired to me he never would have hurt you."
Caroline scoffed. "And why's that."
"Because, you are Rosalina's best friend. Right?" The girls glanced at each other and sighed. "Can I at least offer you both a drink?" He asked.
Caroline hesitated, "Yeah, thanks." She looked at Rosa. "Her too." She mumbled. Klaus nodded. Klaus gets the drinks and they sit in silence. Caroline's phone buzzes. "I'll be right back."
Rosa was about to stand up but Caroline shook her head. Rosa sighed and sat back down. She looked down at her drink and sighed.
"I got your message." Rosa didn't respond. She didn't know what she was supposed to say to that. "So, when we're you planning on having this talk?"
Rosa shrugged, "Before you kidnapped my sister." She said softly, still not looking up at Klaus.
He let out a short breath and ran his hand through his hair. "I'm doing it to help her, Rosalina. Why can't you see that?"
"Than why didn't you just say that? Instead you showed up at my house out of nowhere and just...you just took her." She told him, finally meeting his eyes.
Klaus stared at Rosa, "Did you mean it? What you said over the phone?" Rosa shrugged. "I really hope you do."
"Would I ever be enough for you?" She asked quietly.
"What? You are more than enough."
Rosa shook her head, "That's not true. If I was enough you would have stopped. You wouldn't hurt or threaten people I care about." She picked at the edge of her sleeve and looked at Klaus, "I want to be enough. I'm trying, but I can't be the girl you want. It's in my nature to be less than what everyone wants me to be...and I don't think you could ever except that
"That's not true, Rosalina." Klaus said. "You are perfect just the way you are. You know that. Everything that I'm doing will be for us. Rosalina, I lo—"
"Stop! Just don't." She said, and angled her head back to staring down at her drink.
Klaus balled his hand in a hard fist and rested it as his side. He nodded and watched as Rosa stared at her drink, keeping herself from letting any tears escape.
"So, here's the thing, I didn't just come here to try to get you to release Elena." Caroline said when she walked back. She looked at Rosa and Klaus and stood next to her friend.
Klaus smirked, "You don't say."
"We came here to distract you, which is why Stefan made me bring Rosa." The two looked at Rosa who still looked down. "Stefan had to go to your house and break Elena out, which he did. And don't get mad, but then he lost her."
Rosa looked up, "What?"
Suddenly Klaus stood up and walks away angrily. "Klaus." Caroline says softly.
Klaus turns around to look at the girls. "Caroline, I don't necessarily hate you and you are Rosalina's friend, but if you don't shut up, I will kill you." Klaus said angrily and Rosa sighed.
"They figured out how to stop the hallucinations." Caroline says which makes Klaus stop walking away.
He turns around, "Okay, you have 10 seconds to tell me."

While others might try to raid the Orc Lord with as many people as possible, why not challenge him to an arm-wrestling tournament? The power of friendship will surely be on his side.
