《The End》Part 28: Try

"Rosalina, where are you going?" Klaus called after her as she stormed out of the room. Stefan and Rebekah looked at each other before following the two. "Rosalina! Don't walk away from me!" He screamed.
Rosa stopped. She slowly turned around to face Klaus and shook her head. "I am so sick of your entitled ass!" She shouted at him.
Klaus looked taken aback by this comment. "What are you talking about?"
"How many times do you think you can threaten the people I care about? Risk their lives for your own selfish needs? How many times do you think you can do this and still have that stupid hope that one day you'll win me over. Get. Over. Yourself."
Klaus watched as she turned around, her hair whipping around and she stormed out of the room.
She continued to walk out of the house until she made it to Stefan's car. She got in, slamming the door for effect. Once the door was shut, she banged her arm on the door and let out a built up scream.
—
After a little while, Stefan entered the car. He looked at Rosa and sighed. "Thought you'd have left."
"You were my ride. I'm kind of over walking right now. So please, just take me home."
Stefan nodded. "Okay, well I'll be back later." Rosa now nodded and that's as far as they got with talking.
They drove back to Rosa's house in silence. And that was it. Once Stefan parked, Rosa got out of the car and rushed towards her house.
She ran up to her room and sat on her bed. She thought. She thought about how much power Klaus had over her. She hated it. She hated how he could make her cry so easily. She hated how he would threaten her friends and family and then act like he loved her. She hated that she wasn't enough for him to be good. Maybe Klaus did love her, but not enough to change. She hated that she cared. But she did.
Rosalina Gilbert wanted Klaus Mikaelson to love her. She wanted to be enough for him to change. But she wasn't.
Wasn't that her whole thing? She was the girl who was never enough. It was like her job to be less to make other people look good. She could never change Klaus Mikaelson.
—
"Oh my god, you're okay." Rosa said with a sigh of relief when Jeremy walked through her door.
He nodded and sat down on the bed next to her. "Rosa, why were you even there?"
Rosa shrugged, "Not so secret—secret mission." Jeremy shook his head and laughed slightly. "Me and Stefan are basically super spies." Jeremy nodded, trying not to laugh to much at his sister. "He said he's coming over later."
Jeremy smirked. "Hmm, maybe Stefan decided to do a sibling switch now." Rosa gasped and slapped her brothers arm.

"Shut up. It's definitely not like that. He was just taking pity on me cause I was bored. And he's coming over later to talk to you and probably to wait for Elena to come home."
Jeremy nodded, but there was still a smirk on his face. Rosa narrowed her eyes at her brother, placing them both into a staring contest. That lasted a few seconds before they both broke and began laughing uncontrollably.
—
The next morning Rosa was awoken by the loud ringing of her cellphone. She picked it up and placed it next to her ear, her eyes only now starting to open.
"Hello." She said in a groggy voice.
"Ah, Rosalina. So lovely to hear your voice. Though you don't seem as lively as usual. Have I caught you at a bad time?" Rosa let out a sigh at the sound of his cheerfulness. It made her sick sometimes.
She rolled her eyes, "I don't want you calling me, much less this early in the morning."
"Rosalina, it's like 11:30 in your time. You should be awake by now."
Rosa looked at her phone and saw he was right. "First of all, I have to wake up at like 5:45 every morning to go to school. You don't, Mr. I'm 1000 years old and never went to high school. And what do you mean your time?" She asked annoyed.
Klaus smirked on his side. "Well that's not very fair, considering we both know you usually don't go to school. And I'm in Italy right now. Beautiful place. I'd love to take you someday."
"I'm hanging up if you don't get to the point."
Klaus chuckled softly. "I love our little chats."
"That's nice. I don't."
"We'll I just wanted to tell you that I am looking for something very important. Also I'd like to thank you for allowing me to use Jeremy."
Rosa scoffed. "I didn't allow you to do anything. I just didn't really feel like dying."
"We'll I appreciate it none the less." Rosa rolled her eyes at his comment. "I also wanted to apologize for...everything."
Rosa sighed. How many times has he apologized now? He keeps doing the same thing over and over. "Good luck with whatever you're looking for. I hope it was worth it." She said before hanging up.
—
"Caroline, I asked to not be bothered. To just have a normal day. Klaus already woke me up with his annoying phone calls and now you made me come to Tyler Lockwoods fancy mansion." Rosa complained as she followed Caroline through the halls.
Caroline rolled her eyes, "Rosa, you need to accept that this is your life now." She nodded. Caroline walks down the hall and turns towards Tyler.
Rosa on the other hand turns to see a girl not much older than them, with brown hair and green eyes, also trying to listen to Tyler's conversation.

Rosa looks at her confused, since she's never seen her before. She nudges Caroline slightly who turns towards the girl, surprised that there would be a girl who's she's never seen before in Tyler's house.
"Uh, who are you?" The blonde asks.
"Who the hell are you?"
Caroline and Rosa look at each other, "Caroline. This is Rosa." Rosa gives the girl a half smile, not sure if she's supposed to like her or not. She's pretty sure Caroline hasn't made her final decision yet.
"Oh, you're Tyler's girl. He told me about you. I'm Hayley." Rosa looked at Caroline and knew this wouldn't be good.
Caroline shook her head, "Well, Hayley, that's pretty crazy, because I haven't heard a thing about you." Caroline turned her head to Rosa, "Have you heard anything about Hayley." She asked sarcastically.
"Nope." Rosa answered, looking at Hayley. Rosa was fully aware of the kind of guy Tyler was. She just thought he had changed for Caroline. But maybe she was wrong.
"I've been staying here a few days." She answered.
Caroline's eyes widened and Rosa sighed, "Excuse me?"
"I needed a place to crash, Ty's a buddy, he was kind enough to offer."
"I know all of Ty's buddy's and I haven't heard about you. So, how about we cut the crap?"
Hayley clicked her tongue, "Yeah, I don't do teen drama. Take it up with Ty. Excuse me." She said before walking away past the girls.
"Caroline, I'm sure it's not what you think." Rosa said. Caroline nodded, but clearly didn't believe it.
The two then walk into the room to find Tyler talking. "Klaus told you to take Connor on by yourself and you can't even fight back? You have to use non-lethal force. What the hell is that?"
"Klaus gave me direct order."
Hayley then said, "it's to dangerous. That maniac already killed Nate."
"You're not a hybrid, you don't know what it's like. Klaus asks for something, you do it." Rosa watches as the three wolves look at each other before Tyler walks forward.
"Look, I'm a hybrid. I used to do everything Klaus said, but I don't anymore. You don't have to either."
The third werewolf then speaks, "You think you can stand up to Klaus?" He hands Tyler the phone. "Prove it."
Tyler takes the phone, "Tyler don't." Caroline said.
Tyler looks at Caroline and dials Klaus's number. Rosa listens closely as Klaus picks up the phone. "Hello." He says.
"Hey, Klaus."
"Tyler! I hope you're not causing problems."
Tyler bit his lips, "I can do whatever I want. I'm not sired to you anymore." Rosa rolled her eyes.
"Fair enough. Although I do happen to know your little secret about your time in Appalachia. What's your friends name? Hayley, was it? You probably prefer I kept that to myself." Rosa looked at Caroline who backed away slightly.
This was the first time Caroline hadn't hoped she was right. And now Klaus of all people just confirmed her suspicions.
"I'm sorry, mate. Are you going to answer or should I just assume you're back to being...how did you phrase it? Ah, yes, my little bitch." Tyler hangs up the phone and clears his throat as he hands the phone back to his friend.
He doesn't even look at Caroline. "Do whatever the hell you want." He says before leaving, Hayley following after him.
Rosa looks at Caroline who was crying as she stood in the middle of the room.
—
"Tyler's a jerk who doesn't deserve you. You're way to good for him." Rosa comforted her friend as she cried.
Caroline shook her head. More tears spilling down her cheeks. Rosa hugged the blonde close to her. "Can we just talk about something else?"
Rosa nodded, "Sure. What do you want to talk about?"
Caroline wiped her tears, "What's going on with you and Klaus?"
"That's low, even for you." Caroline pouted. "Uhm, well he's a jerk. But you already knew that. He keeps acting like he's sorry and that he likes me, but then he's horrible. Like spilling Tyler's secret like that. He could have told me so I could tell you, instead of making you find out like that. He just makes it so hard to have hope that he could be good."
"Okay, but do you want to have sex with him?"
Rosa's eyes widened. "I...I don't know. Why would you even put that in my head...no. Why is this even a debate. He's a murderer and just horrible and...incredibly, stupidly hot." Rosa slapped herself in the head and sighed. "But if I ever said I'd wanted to, that'd make me...a horrible person."
Caroline shrugged. "I mean, the nicest I've ever seen him is when he's with you. And don't think I don't see the little sparkle in your eyes when you think and talk about him." Rosa sighed, a blush spreading across her face. "And it wouldn't make you a horrible person, I promise. It just makes you human, which is a good thing when you're a vampire."
Rosa shrugged. "How?"
"Guy meets girl. Guy falls in love with girl. It's girls turn to give him a chance. If my relationship with Tyler didn't work out, I need to at least see you in a happy relationship."
"With someone, that all my friends and family hate. Someone who's tried to kill everyone I know. I just don't think I could be happy with him."
Caroline smiled, "You won't know unless you try."
